Happy Friday friends, this is Nicky with you on the blog today sharing a new card I created featuring the equal parts adorable and beautiful Tropical Birds stamp set from the summer release. Please read on for how I made it.
I started by taking an A2 white panel of cardstock and ink blending it with 'Greenery' and 'Citrine' inks by The Stamp Market. I splattered with water and blotted it up and then splattered again with a little of the Greenery ink loosened with a drop or two of water. I backed this panel with white craft foam and adhered it to an A6 card base and set it to one side.
I took some green cardstock from my stash and I die cut it three times using Eyelet Lace Border Dies. I glued them in a stack and adhered them to the card background.
The images from Tropical Birds were stamped using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured with the following Copic marker combinations:
Toucans - T6,
T5, T4, YR09, YR04, Y38, C3, C1, C0, C00
Vine - E29, E39,
E35, E53
Greenery - G94,
G24, YG13, YG03, YG67, YG25, YG06, YG17
The images were then die cut using the coordinating dies. I began building a background of lush greenery by first adhering the vine image with foam tape and then gluing in all of the leaves and a few flowers. I added the toucans on top of the greenery and perched on the vine using foam tape.
To complete the scene the sentiment from the stamp set was stamped and applied with foam tape and a few white Nuvo drops were added for a subtle accent.
I appreciate you stopping by to read the blog today and hope you have a lovely and crafty weekend. See you next Friday with something new!
