Summer Fruit-Themed Dies 4-Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some fruit-themed cards for Summer using a variety of dies and our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps. Once again for all four of my cards, I stuck with a single design which I repeated, changing only the images, patterned papers, and the different greetings from the same stamp set.

Sunny Studio Cards using Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps, Strawberry Patch, Cherry, Lemon, Watermelon, Build-a-Bowl Craft Dies

Card No.1:
My first card focuses on the strawberries, blossoms, and leaves from the Strawberry Patch Dies. For all of my cards today, I started by die-cutting a white scalloped panel 5-1/2" x 3-5/8" using the lacy edge die from our Slimline Pennant Dies set. I then added a stitched strip from Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I had in my head that I wanted to add a ribbon bow without any bulk, but Sunny Studio doesn't have a die like this already in our line-up so I borrowed one from another company that was just the right size to match using Lawn Fawn's Platform Pop-up Dies. I added a diagonal green striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack along the bottom of my card and stamped a sweet greeting to match my card's scene using our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No. 2: My second card combines the lemon slices from the Fresh Lemon Dies, the Strawberries from the Strawberry Patch Dies, and the cherries from the Wild Cherry Dies. This time I switched out the patterned paper to match my lemon for a yellow gingham print from our Gingham Pastel Paper pack.

Card No. 3: For my next card I focused on using both seed variations from our Juicy Watermelon Dies, switching out my bow for a green one this time and opting for a red striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. I can't get enough of these fresh colors for summer! This card reminds me of one of my daughter's favorite Gymboree tops from way back when.

Card No. 4: Lastly, I have a card combining lemons and limes from our Fresh Lemon Dies with the wired basket from our Build-a-Bowl Dies. I added a coral-colored bow to match the one grapefruit citrus slice and a yellow striped patterned paper from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. This particular scene took up more space than the others in my set, so I added a stacked sentiment "sending you a big squeeze" in the top right corner instead of all lined up below the scene like I did for my other cards.

That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today.💛

Distinctive Door Die Focused Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh. I am excited to be back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today to share this fun birthday card featuring the Distinctive Door Dies and the Brilliant Banner 4 Dies from the latest release. I had so much fun playing with this Distinctive Door Dies set! It's like custom building a house where you can mix and match designs and colors. The set is so versatile and can be used for so many different occasions: Birthdays, New Home, Welcome Home to name a few. And the door can be decorated for holiday cards: Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Today, I used it to make a birthday card for these partying pandas.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Die Focused Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Panda Party, Floating By, Brilliant Banner Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings)

I stamped the pandas from the Panda Party Stamp set and the bouquet of balloons from the Floating By Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Panda Party Dies were used to diecut them out. I fussy cut the bouquet of balloons so as to preserve the attached balloon strings. I colored them with Copic markers and accented them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Panda: C00/0/1/3/5/7, R00/20
Pink: RV000/00/02
Red: R22/24/29
Orange: Y17/38 YR04/07
Yellow balloons: Y11/13/15/17
Yellow lights: Y11
Green: YG01/03/17
Blue: B000/00/02/04
White: T0/1

I diecut the door and the accessories from the Distinctive Door Dies from a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock. I also diecut the hardware on the door silver shine cardstock and the lights with black cardstock for a more realistic look. I lightly colored some of the edges of the white elements and lights with Copic markers (T0/1, Y11) for a bit of dimension and realism. The bushes were colored in with the same green as the balloon (YG01/03/17).

For the background, I took a piece of tan colored cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and added a slim strip of gray colored cardstock to the bottom edge for the ground. I assembled the elements of the door and adhered them to the panel with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam tape.

For the sentiment, I diecut the Brilliant Banner 4 Dies out of a red cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamp set and some hearts from the Passionate Penguins Stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto the banners before heat embossing with Fine Detail White Embossing powder. I assembled and attached the banner and attached the banner to the panel with liquid adhesive. Finally, I attached the panel to a white top folding cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card and are inspired to create your own front door card. Be sure to check out the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop for more info and inspirations. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.

Designer's Choice: Tropical Birds Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I couldn’t resist sharing another card featuring the Tropical Birds Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Friendship Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Circle Snowflake Frame Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings, Summer Greenery Dies)

I started with the background panel by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle Die. I inked the top half lightly with Spun Sugar Distress ink and the bottom half with Simon Says Stamp Celery ink. I splattered a little watered down Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White with a fan brush and adhered the panel to an A2 card front.

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Snowflake Circle Frame Die. I inked an ocean scene on the center portion of the die-cut. I inked a cloud stencil from my stash with Spun Sugar Distress ink at the top and inked the ocean with Simon Says Stamp Seafoam ink. I stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps and A Bird’s Life Stamps and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder for a little shine. I then adhered the frame approximately 1/2" from the top edge of the card.

To finish, I die-cut leaves from white cardstock using the Summer Greenery Dies and inked them with Crushed Olive/Peeled Paint Distress inks and Simon Says Stamps Celery ink. I adhered them along the bottom of the circle frame. I stamped all images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I used the following stamps/dies:

Tropical Scenes Stamps/Dies (palm trees)

I die-cut 4 flowers from white cardstock using the flower from the Strawberry Patch Dies, colored them with Copics and added them along the vine.

Wild Cherry Die Focused Card with Leanne

Hi there! Leanne here sharing a cherryful card today. I simply could not resist adding the fun play on words to my card featuring how I've used the Wild Cherry dies

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wild Cherry Die Focused Card by Leanne West (featuring Punny Fruit Greetings, Hayley Alphabet Dies, Frilly Frame Dies)

This A2 card design is very easy to make. I started by creating a soft minty background with scalloped edge detail. To get this detail, I used the Frilly Frame Hexagon die to create a mask that covers the edges of the card front and then I applied the ink in the negative space. The minty aqua color is Catherine Pooler Hot Tub.

I die cut 7 cherries, stems, and leaves from white card stock. I used small blending brushes and the following Catherine Pooler inks to color: Peppermint Scrub for the cherries, Matcha + Spruce for the leaves, Over Coffee for the stems.

I arranged the cherries along the bottom half of the card front so I'd have room above them to add a custom greeting. The stamped part of the sentiment are words included in the Punny Fruit Greetings stamp set. I used the Hayley Lower Case Alphabet dies to cut out letters that spell "cherryful". I cut the letters from white card stock and colored with a combo of Peppermint Scrub and Merlot CP inks. To finish this design I added a few green sequins scattered around the greeting area.

Fresh Lemon Die Focused Tags with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this lovely trio of citrus Scalloped Square Tags showcasing Fresh Lemon, a die set that I like a lot because besides cutting beautiful lemon shapes, it also adds some amazing texture to your die-cut pieces. So fun!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh Lemon Summer Themed Tags by Marine Simon (featuring Stitched Square Dies, Scalloped Tag Square Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings)

I started off by cutting all the Fresh Lemon bits and pieces out of colored cardstock, assembled them using liquid glue, and then cut everything to build my tags. Each tag was made the same way, so here are the different steps to build one:

1. Cut a large Scalloped Square Tag out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, and cut a window out of it using the fifth smallest Stitched Square die to create a frame

2. Cut a large Scalloped Square Tag out of vellum

3. Cut a large Scalloped Square Tag out of pattern paper (I cut one out of a Summer Splash lemon paper, one out of a All Is Bright red paper, and one out of a Surprise Party green paper)

4. Attach the vellum tag to the pattern paper tag using liquid glue on the very edges

5. Attach the light brown woodgrain frame to the vellum tag using 1mm foam squares

6. Stamp a Punny Fruit Greeting on the upper part of the vellum section using white stazon white (I went for "You're my main squeeze", "Squeeze the day", and "Sending you a big squeeze")

7. Cut a Scalloped Square Tag out of colored cardstock, and stick it at the back of the pattern paper tag to make the back of it nice and clean

8. Add ribbon and twine to make a handle

Next I attached my Fresh Lemon die-cut pieces on each tag using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added highlights and details using a white gel, and finished each tag by gluing matching clay heart confetti on each side of the greetings.

And that's it! These tags were so fun to make, super easy and quick, and I hope they have inspired you to create your own. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!
