Nativity Scene Builder Die Focused Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Hanh with you today and I have Christmas boxcard to share with you featuring the Nativity Scene Builder Dies Set. 

I used the Nativity Scene Builder Dies set to die cut all of the nativity scene elements out of white and yellow cardstock. For the boxcard, I trimmed a few pieces of white cardstock: one piece (4" x 4.25”), one piece (1.25" x 11”) and two pieces (1.25” x 5”). I also trimmed a few pieces of light blue cardstock: one piece (3.75” x 4”), one piece (3.75” x 1”) and two pieces of (1" x 1”). I used some Blueprint Distress Oxide ink to lightly ink up the edges of the large blue panel.

For the boxcard base, I used a score board to score the long white strip at the 1.25”, 5.25”, 6.5”, and 10.5” marks. I folded on the score lines, added liquid glue to the 0.5" end tab and secured it to the other end of the strip to create the boxcard base. 

I adhered the larger white and light blue panels to each other and then to the back of the boxcard base. I also adhered the smaller blue panels to the front and side panels of the boxcard. Next, I created the shelves by using the score board again to score the two white strips at the 0.5" on each of the long ends. I folded on the score lines and added the shelves to the boxcard with a strong double sided tape. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Joy to the world” sentiment from the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the long banner die from the Slimline Pennant Dies to die cut the strip out. I trimmed off the excess and adhered it to the front panel of the boxcard.

I decorated the boxcard with the nativity scene elements as shown in the pictures. I found it helpful to use clear acetate strips to help secure some the more delicate elements to the boxcard shelves.

Winter Wreaths Card with Jarle

Hi friends! It's Jarle here, and I am excited to share my weekly project for Sunny Studio Stamps. This week, I used the beautiful Winter Wreaths stamp set. That detail on that wreath is just AMAZING! You have to check it out in the photos below. 

I started with a piece of teal cardstock (Teal Topaz from Spellbinders), 4 x 5.25 inches. I blended the edges with Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, and a little bit of Black Soot. I splattered some Copic White and set the panel aside to dry. 

After that, I stamped everything with the Winter Wreaths stamp set. I chose a green (with a hint of teal) for the wreath itself. I did the ribbon and poinsettias in shades of red ink. I die-cut everything with the coordinating dies. I also die-cut the 3 deer from the Rustic Winter die set with black cardstock (and a little bird from red cardstock). 

For the sentiment, I went with my trusty Build A Greeting Holidays stamp set. I gold embossed 'wishing you a beautiful season' on a strip of red cardstock. I love this stamp set because you can make SO MANY different sentiments with it. I also really like its simple style. 

I popped up the Winter Wreath on the ink-blended panel and added the ribbon with foam squares and the poinsettias with liquid glue. The deer and the sentiment are also popped up. To add a little bit of extra something, I adhered a few jewels from the Gold Jewels and the Magic Rainbow Jewels. I glued down my whole panel on an A2-sized red card base. 

I think the wreath really stands out on this card. The pops of green and red on a darker ink-blended cardstock are gorgeous. Have a beautiful day!

Merry Mocha Card with Tina M

Hi, Crafty Friends! Tina M here with you today! I have a cute, pink Holiday card to share with you today, featuring the Merry Mocha and Snowman Kisses sets!

I started off with an A2 size card base and trimmed a piece of pink card stock from my stash to 4,25 x 5,5 inches to cover card base, I adhered it using double sided tape. I then trimmed a piece of white card stock to 4 x 5,25, masked off 3/8 of an inch from the edges with low tack painters masking tape and ink blended the center of the panel using pink ink.

To add extra interest and detail, I ran the ink blended panel through my die cutting machine using the Dotted Diamond Portrait Die. To finish it off I added Stickles around the edges of the pink area for beautiful sparkle!

Next, I stamped the cup from the Merry Mocha Stamps set and two of the cute snowmen from the Snowman Kisses Stamps set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on alcohol ink friendly card stock and colored them with my Copic Markers. See the list below. I then die cut out the colored pieces using the coordinating Merry Mocha Die set and Snowman Kisses Dies set.

For my sentiment I die cut out a banner using the Brilliant Banner 3 Die set from white card stock and stamped May your season sparkle from the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamps set. Did you know that with this stamp set you can create over 100 different greetings/sentiments for Christmas/Holidays, that is absolutely amazing and such value for money! Lastly, I added foam dots to the back of the snowmen, cups and the banner and adhered them to the card.

Classy Christmas Card with Jarle

Hi friends! It’s Jarle here, and I am happy to be back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog for my weekly project.  Today, I am featuring the Classy Christmas stamp set for an elegant Christmas card. I haven’t made many Christmas cards this year, so I was glad to have another one done! 

I trimmed a piece of red cardstock to 3,75 by 5 inches. I went for Cranberry cardstock from Spellbinders. I prepped this panel with an antistatic powder tool, since I was going to be doing a lot of heat embossing. 

I stamped different images from the Classy Christmas stamp set with Versamark ink onto the card panel. I used a regular stamping block instead of my Misti because I stamped those images a few times. I sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heat-set it with my heat tool. 

Tip 1: Stamp, emboss, and heat set in different sections. Only bring your heat gun to your cardstock when it is very hot so you don’t get any warping. 

Tip 2: Wipe down your card panel with a cloth after embossing. This gets rid of the antistatic powder. 

I took out my Polychromos pencils and colored all the images. I did very simple shading, with only 2 colors of green and 2 colors of blue. I was afraid that the cardstock was going to be too smooth for colored pencils, but it worked beautifully. 

These are the colors I used:
- Blue: 149 & 152 
- Green: 266 & 278

After that, I chose a sentiment from the Build A Greeting Holidays and heat embossed it as well on a strip of red cardstock. I popped up the sentiment onto my card panel. I adhered the whole panel with foam tape on an A2 cardbase made of Oceanside cardstock (Spellbinders). Yes! Lots of dimension! For a finishing touch, I glued down a few Gold Jewels. I think this really finishes off the card. 

Whenever I do gold embossing, I am always amazed at how beautiful and special the effect is. I hope you will give this a try! Have a beautiful day!

Mini Mat & Tag 2 Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you today, and I am sharing a fun Christmas card featuring these adorable penguins from the Roly Poly Penguins and Penguin Pair set on a Mini Mat & Tag 2 die-cut.  

I stamped the images from the Roly Poly Penguins Stamp and Penguin Pair Stamp set onto Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then used the coordinating Roly Poly Penguin Dies and Penguin Pair Dies to die-cut them. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T3/4/5/7, W00/0/1, Y38 YR04, R20
Red: R14/24/29/39
White: C00/1/3

For the layout, I used the Woolen Mitten Dies and Basic Mini Shapes Dies 5 to die-cut some white snowflakes. I adhered the snowflakes to pink cardstock. Next, I used the Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies to die-cut a mat out of white cardstock. I masked off the scalloped edges and lightly ink-blended with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Merry Christmas” from the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp set with Versafine Satin Red ink directly onto the Mini Mat panel. 

I adhered a piece of craft foam to the back of the Mini Mat panel before adhering it to the pink panel with snowflakes. I trimmed off the bottom part of a couple of the penguins before adhering them to the Mini Mat panel. Finally, I adhered the pink panel to a white A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”).

Alpine Adventure Card with Jarle

Hi friends! Jarle here. I am happy to be back with another project for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today, I am featuring the Alpine Adventure stamp set, on a little platform card.

I started by die cutting the Platform Pop-Up from Lawn Fawn out of the beautiful Joyful Holiday paper. That striped pattern is my favorite! I assembled my platform first, before moving on to my images. 

I stamped all the penguins (and the polar bear) out of the Alpine Adventure stamp set with black ink. I also stamped some snowflakes with a blue dye ink (I used Pinkfresh). After that, I colored all my images with Copic markers. I die cut them all with the coordinating dies. (I love that the tiny snowflakes also have dies.) 

For the penguins I used
- BV29, BV25, BV23 + BG10 with the colorless blender

For their little accessories I chose:
- RV19, RV25, RV14
- B05, B02, B00
- YG09, YG06, YG03

I started by putting all my images into my platform box, but I found it missed something. I pulled out the Woolen Mitten die set and die cut the large snowflake two times out of white glitter cardstock. I adhered these to the side panels of my platform. For the tiny snowflakes, I used acetate to let them flow in the air... Cute, right? 

Finally I white embossed my sentiment from the Build-A-Greeting: Holidays stamp set and put it on the front of the platform. 

Those penguins were super fun to color. You should definitely try out that BV color combo! It's my favorite combo to color penguins. Have a beautiful day!

Critter Country Paper Focused Card with Tina M

Hi there! Tina M here with you today, sharing a Fall-themed card using a mix of papers from the Critter Country Paper pack! This paper pack comes with so many cute papers, perfect for all sorts of Fall cards!

For my A2-size card, I started off by trimming the burgundy plaid patterned paper from the Critter Country Paper pack to 4,25 x 5,50 inches and adhered it to the card base. I then die cut out the beautiful fall scene paper using the second largest of the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies and adhered that to the burgundy paper.

Next, I stamped the squirrels, cart, pumpkins, and leaves from the Pathway Home Stamp set on alcohol ink-friendly card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them with my Copic Markers; see list below.

Copic colors used:
Squirrels: E08/09/97, YR21, N5, C0/1/2, R30
Pumpkins: YR04/07, Y17, YG03/17
Leaves: YR04/07, Y17, YG03/17
Cart: E21/23/25, N1/4/5

I then die-cut the images out using the coordinating Pathway Home Dies. I added foam dots to the back of all die-cut pieces for dimension and set them aside to create the frame and small scene!

I die-cut the third-largest Icing Rectangle Frame Die from the orange polka-dot paper in the paper pack to use the frame piece only. I also die-cut two pieces from white cardstock to use as the inside pieces. I ink-blended one of them with blue ink and the other with green ink for sky and grass. For the green piece, I used the grass border die from the Slimline Nature Borders Die set to create a little piece of grass, which I adhered to the bottom of the sky piece!

I adhered the little frame/scene piece to the card and stamped the “Thinking of you” words from the Build-A-Greeting Holidays Stamps set at the bottom of the panel using black ink. Lastly, I added the squirrels, pumpkins, cart, and leaves!
