Penguin Party & Cozy Christmas Holiday Card with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi popping in to share some winter-themed holiday cards featuring our Penguin Party Stamps and Cozy Christmas Stamps. These two stamps are some of my sets for the holidays, so I can't believe I never thought to pair them together before this. They complement each other so well!

I started by adding "wallpaper" to my living room scene using the heart print from the Flirty Flowers Paper pack. I added the wood floor from the Sprawling Surfaces Stamps by stamping the border onto white cardstock with Hero Arts Sand Ink and ink-blending the entire piece using Antique Linen Distress ink and a PinkFresh Studio Blending Brush. I then added two arched windows to my wall using the inner frame from the Wonderful Window Dies that I trimmed down to only be four panels, instead of six. I also backed them with cardstock inked to look like a sky and snowy slopes.

I then set to work filling my scene with the sofa, pillow, lamp, and holiday tree from the Cozy Christmas Stamps and the five penguins with cocoa mugs, and gifts from the Penguin Party Stamps. Lastly, I stamped "Hope your holiday is fun & festive" using a greeting from the Penguin Party set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adore how this scene came together and how cozy and festive it feels!

Distinctive Door & Wonderful Windows Christmas Home Card by Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share a house-themed Christmas card featuring our Distinctive Door Dies and Wonderful Windows Dies.

I enjoyed working with a larger 5x7-inch canvas for this Christmas card, which gave me plenty of space to create a beautiful holiday scene. In the summertime, deer visit daily and take their turns pressing their noses to our daylight basement window, so I loved the idea of adding the deer and cardinal visitors to the foreground using the Rustic Winter Dies. I decorated the porch with fir trees, wreaths, bows, and snow from the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Dies.

I altered the roof die from the Distinctive Door set to cut out the gable with my scissors and added the look of lap siding by scoring my cardstock every .25" using a scoring tool. I inked behind each lantern with Mustard Seed Distress ink with a PinkFresh Studio Blending Brush to give it the look that they are glowing. To add visual interest to my roof and provide the general idea of shingles, I cut two 3.5" wide x 1.5" high strips of grey cardstock and then "embossed" them with the Dotted Diamond Landscape Dies. I cut them into two separate strips to piece back together since the die is only 5.5" wide, and I thought it would be easier to line them up as two individual pieces than trying to line up the pattern on one long piece. I completed my card by heat-embossing a sentiment from the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamps onto a red banner using the Brilliant Banner 3 Dies.

Wonderful Windows Card with Amanda

Hey there, friends! It’s Amanda here with you on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I’m excited to share this bright and cheery card with you!

First, I trimmed a piece of the Sweater Weather 6x6 Paper to 4.25” x 5.5” and glued it to an A2 card base. Then, I trimmed a piece of white carddstock to 3.25” x 4.5” and glued that to the center of my card.

My next layer is a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 3”x 4.25”. I ink blended Catherine Pooler’s Chiffon Ink all over the panel. Then, using Catherine Pooler Limoncello Ink, I stamped some of the kitties from the Cat Antics Stamps.Then, I glued that panel to the card.

I die cut the windows and curtains from the Wonderful Windows Dies. Behind the windows, I glued another small piece of the Sweater Weather 6x6 Paper. The curtains were colored with Copic markers RV20, RV23, and RV25.  I added a bit of shading to the window with Copics N0 and N1. I placed 3D foam strips behind the window and added it to the card.

I stamped my cat from the Cat Antics Stamps and then colored him with Copic markers. I used T0, T1, T6, T7, T8, RV23 and RV25. I die cut him out with the coordinating dies. I applied a 3D foam square behind him and then added him to the window.

On a piece of black cardstock, I stamped my sentiment with a WOW! embossing pad. I applied white embossing powder to it and then used my heat tool to melt the powder. I trimmed the sentiment into a strip with a trimmer and added some banner edges with my scissors. I placed a 3D strip behind it and added it to the card.

Paris Afternoon & Wonderful Windows Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some Parisian-themed spring and  summer cards showcasing our Paris Afternoon Stamps.

For my first card showcasing the Paris Afternoon Stamps, I heat-embossed the Eiffel Tower from the set using Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder. To set my scene around the tower, I used the park border from the Spring Scenes Stamps, coloring one of the "hills" to become the Seine River. I added the extra trees, flowers, and butterflies from that same set, as well as the bike, the poodle on the park bench, and the "bonjour" greeting from the Paris Afternoon set. I had initially colored this bicycle a couple of years ago with flowers in the basket that didn't match my scene as well as I might have liked, so I remedied that by layering some other loose flowers over the top. Lastly, I added three die-cut clouds with a pink glow along the bottom from the Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies.

For my second Parisian-themed card featuring the Paris Afternoon Stamps, I wanted to build a scene using the latte, croissant, and macarons from the set. I thought it would be fun to create the look of an indoor cafe table with a window overlooking the Eiffel Tower. I started by adding a moody black tone-on-tone striped "wallpaper" using the Sleek Stripes Paper as my backdrop. I wanted something neutral that wouldn't compete with the other images and would make them pop, but sadly, I found it challenging to photograph adequately to capture all the details that are easy to spot in person. I chose to use black cardstock for my window frame and shutters using the Wonderful Window Dies. I did not include the interior window panes from this set to give a maximum view of the Eiffel Tower. I then added some clouds to the view using the Comic Strip Everyday Dies and added the small trees near the base from the Charming City Stamps.

Inside my cafe, I added a round table with a tablecloth by cutting a piece of white cardstock using the stitched hillside die from our Slimline Nature Border Dies. I wanted to stack the macarons onto a plate, but quickly realized we don't have any plates to match this scale. However, I was delighted to discover I could simply stamp extras of the cup and saucer and trim off the cup portion to hide where the cup had been with the croissant and macarons. I completed my card by stamping the "Enjoy life's simple pleasures" sentiment from the City Streets Stamps onto the Brilliant Banner 4 Die, which had been cut from a blue polka-dot print from the Polka-dot Parade Paper pack.
