Sea You Soon Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you today and I have a fun birthday card to share showcasing the Sea You Soon set. Despite the small size of this stamp set, it is packed with cuteness and comes at an awesome price point. So let’s get started.

I stamped the images from the Sea You Soon Stamps and the clown fish, sea anenome and seaweeds from Best Fishes Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Sea You Soon Dies and Best Fishes Dies to diecut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and diecut two windows into it using the second and fourth largest dies from the Stitched Circle Large Dies. With the windowed panel as a guide, I ink blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in the location of those windows. 

I used the bubble stamps from the Fintastic Friends Stamps set to stamp some bubbles directly onto the white windowed panel with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Have a jawsome birthday" sentiment from the Best Fishes Stamps set with Memento Tuxedo Black and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks directly onto the white windowed panel.

I adhered the two panels to each other using foam tape. I adhered the colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

Best Fishes Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you today and I have a fun birthday tunnel shadow boxcard to share showcasing the Best Fishes set. I love dimensional cards and how they add an element of surprise for the recipient. So let’s get started.

I stamped the images from the Best Fishes Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Best Fishes Dies to diecut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

For the shadow boxcard design, I took one piece of white cardstock (4.25” x 11”), one piece of light teal cardstock (5.25” x 4.25”) and one piece of dark teal cardstock (4.25” x 4.25”). 

I started with the long white cardstock (4.25” x 11”) and used a score board to score at the 1”, 5.25”, 6.25” and 10.5” marks to create 5 panels of 1”, 4.25”, 1”, 4.25” and 0.5” widths. I used the second largest die from the Stitched Circle Small Dies to diecut a circle window in the center of the first 4.25” square panel (the one in between the two 1” panels). I folded at each of the score lines. 

Next, I took the light teal cardstock (5.25” x 4.25”) and scored at the 0.5” mark from each of the long ends to create 3 panels of 0.5”, 4.25” and 0.5” widths. I used the third largest die from the Stitched Circle Small Dies to diecut a circle window in the center of the 4.25” square panel. I folded at the two score lines. 

I took the opportunity to add some decoration around the circle window by stamping the water droplet stamp from the Best Fishes Stamps set with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink onto the white cardstock. 

To assemble the shadow boxcard, I folded the white cardstock into a box. I adhered the light teal layer along one of its side panels to one of the side panels of the white boxcard. Then I adhered the dark teal panel to the inside of the back panel of the boxcard. I found it easiest to decorate the inside elements of the boxcard at this stage before I closed off the boxcard. Once I finished with the decoration, I adhered the final panels.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “best fishes” sentiment from the Best Fishes Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used a paper trimmer to trim out the sentiment. 

I finished adhering the colored images and sentiment to the outer part of the boxcard with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. The final dimensions of the 3D shadow boxcard is 4.25” x 4.25” x 1”. I love that it can be flattened to fit into a standard A2 envelope for easy mailing.

Fintastic Friends Shark Week Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some ocean-themed cards for summer using our Fintastic Friends Stamps, among several other sets.

For my first card featuring all the octopus, seahorse, jellyfish, and other ocean critters from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, I thought it would be fun to create giant bubbles using the negative space left behind using our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. You could also create a similar look with our Staggered Circle Dies. I then stamped the greeting from the set and added a number of the smaller bubble images as embellishments around the larger bubble window cutouts.

For my second card, I couldn't resist combining all the sharks from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, Best Fishes Stamps, and Sea You Soon Stamps together in one card to commemorate Shark Week. I wanted to create the look of portholes in a ship so I nested circles from our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies, cutting them from metallic gold cardstock. I then lined them up on my glass mat and used the grid on the mat to mark off the spots with my Sharpie pen. I then used an X-acto knife to create small slits to slip in mini gold brads as the porthole rivets. I made sure to apply all the brads before adding the panel to my card front so the inside of my card would still be pretty. For my ship's "wall," I inked up a piece of woodgrain cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress ink and added a punny greeting from the Best Fishes Stamps, which I stamped onto our Brilliant Banner 3 Dies. I used a piece of ivory cardstock for my banner and inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink to make it feel like an old scroll. Lastly, I stamped some solid bubbles around the sharks using images from the Best Fishes set.

Window Trio Heart Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this new underwater shaker card showcasing the lovely mermaids from Mermaid Kisses. I've featured them two times already, here and here, and since tomorrow is Valentine's day, I thought it would be fun to create Valentine mermaids.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Mermaid Kisses - mermaids, seaweeds, tiny seashell, tiny starfish, small fish • Best Fishes - clown fish • Magical Mermaids - jellyfish, tiny fish, starfish, bubbles • Bighearted Bears - envelopes • Tropical Scenes - corals.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and created an underwater background using oxide inks. I first applied, from top to bottom, spun sugar and worn lipstick oxide inks. Next I placed a wave pattern stencil on my panel, and applied, from top to bottom, worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks. I splattered water all over my panel, and dried it using a paper towel. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and added more splatters using a slim brush, and then did the same with festive berries oxide ink.

Once my panel was dry, I used the Window Trio Heart Landscape die to cut three hearts out of my panel. Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches pink panel, placed my underwater panel on top, put the three hearts back on their original spots and glued them on the pink panel using liquid glue. I stuck a piece of acetate at the back of the underwater panel, added foam strips all the around the heart windows and on the rest of the panel, poured some iridescent heart confetti and a mix of polymer clay confetti inside each heart window, peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and attached the pink panel to the foam strips to close my shaker panel.

Next I attached the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added highlights and details using a white gel pen, and applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the bubbles and hearts on the envelopes to make them sparkle. For my greeting, I stamped "Fintastic" from Fintastic Friends on the middle heart using white stazon ink, I white heat embossed "Life with you is" from Country Carnival on red cardstock, trimmed it into a slim banner, and stuck it right above "Fintastic" using foam squares.
