Sprawling Surfaces Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a fun friendship card featuring the Sprawling Surfaces Stamps. When I first saw the wood plank stamp in this set, I immediately thought of the wooden boardwalks that we have on a trail near our home. There’s a creek that runs next to it and it’s very wooded. My husband and I frequently ride our bikes on the trail, so I had a fun time creating this little scene with the adorable bike riding duo from the Bighearted Bear Stamps.

To begin, I lightly inked a soft sky with Tumbled Glass Distress ink on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock panel. I then stamped the sentiment 3/4" from the top and centered using stamps from the Garden Critters Stamps and the Bighearted Bear Stamps.

Next, I inked a 2” x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock with Peeled Paint Distress ink and die-cut the top edge using a Mini Grass Border Die. I adhered it to the bottom of the sky background panel. The Autumn Tree Dies were the perfect size for my scene so I die-cut 2 trees and leaves from white cardstock and inked them with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and Twisted Citron Distress ink. I adhered them slightly overlapping the right and left sides of the background piece and trimmed the excess with scissors along the edges. To add a pretty purple to my card, I die-cut small and large flowers using the Wonderful Windows Dies. I inked the large flowers in the trees with Dusty Concord Distress ink and added white gel pen details. I Copic colored the small flowers and adhered them towards the top of the grass piece. (I reserved some of the small flowers to tuck behind the boardwalk) I then adhered the background piece to an A2 card front.

For my creek, I stamped the pond from the Country Scenes Stamps on a 2” x 5 1/2" piece of Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored it with Copics and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. I then adhered it even with the bottom of the card. Since the boardwalks on our trail have wooden beams along the sides where there’s water or drop-offs, I stamped a few birdhouse posts from the A Bird’s Life Stamps to add along the edge of the wood stamp from the Sprawling Surfaces Stamps. I colored these with Copics, fussy cut them out and adhered my boardwalk along the bottom of the card. I also tucked in the remaining small flowers behind it.

To finish, I stamped the biking pandas from the Bighearted Bear Stamps and 2 butterflies from the Bunnyville Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. Since Spring days are often breezy, I added a few fallen flowers to the boardwalk.

Truckloads of Love Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here featuring the fun and versatile Truckloads of Love stamp and die set! I love that this set can be used for so many occasions throughout the whole year. For my card today, I am creating a sweet Fall scene with the adorable Squirrel Friends! They are busy loading their truck with lots of pumpkins.

Creating a full scene card can be intimidating for me and it helps if I build up my design using shape dies. For my background I cut a panel from white Neenah paper using the new Dotted Diamond cover die in landscape. It gives that extra subtle touch and doesn’t distract from the focal point! I used the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes to create the scalloped border.

Next, I cut the two largest of the Stitched Semi Circles dies from the same white card stock. I kept the largest one plain white and inked up the smaller one with Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Saltwater Taffy. After splattering some water droplets for extra interest, I glued both semi circles directly to the white card panel. Then, I adhered this panel to a red card base.

I stamped and die cut all the cute squirrels, truck and pumpkins (Squirrel Friends, Truckloads of Love stamp) and colored them with my Copics. As always, I added some highlights with my white gel pen, it really makes a difference! To complete the scene, I cut and colored the tree and leaves from the Autumn Tree die. This tree is great to use in any of your Fall scene cards!

Finally, I arranged all my images and glued them in place, using foam tape were needed for dimension. The combined sentiment from the Truckloads of Love stamp was stamped onto a small white banner and added to the right upper corner. To embellish the card I sprinkled a few gems from the Chrystal Clear Jewels around the sentiment.

Build-A-Birdhouse Cards with Lien and Isha

Hi crafty friends! It's Lien here, with a great way to add some forced perspective on a card using different-sized images.

To get the most out of this forced perspective effect, I started out by creating a little window or frame for my scene. I die-cut one of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Dies from the center of some cream cardstock. This is cut slightly smaller than an A2 card so I'd have a nice margin all around in the end. My background is made from a very pale blue cardstock and I added a little bit of ink blending at the top to darken it up and add some more depth.

 

I propped my frame piece up on foam tape and then assembled two birdhouses from the fun Build-A-Birdhouse dies and also put the two birds together, setting those aside for later. I adhered to the birdhouses in the frame. I also cut the Autumn Tree die from brown cardstock, I'm just going to use the branches and some of the small leaves, tucking the branches underneath the frame. Using a jewel picker it's easy to add all the small leaves and to add more color I also added some tiny flowers on the branches. These flower dies are included in the Wonderful Windows dies. 

 

Because the birdhouses and the branches are quite small, the scene looks to be pretty far away. However, there's no real perspective on a card like this, in the end, these could just be small elements on a card. To force the perspective, to make the things inside the window look small and far away, add something outside of the window that is noticeably larger. A great element to do that with on this card would be some flowers or leaves. I opted for the leaves, using the Autumn Greenery dies to create some larger leaves for the outside of the window.

Hello everyone! Isha here today with an adorable thanks card featuring the Build-A-Birdhouse dies. Past few weeks I have been using pastel colors on my cards and as you know me I love colors, so for this card, I went with some bold colors.

I started by creating the background using various colors of Distress inks. Sponged them by keeping the darker colors to the edges. Flick, black and white paint to the panel. Adhere the panel to a white card base. Stamp the tree branch from the Little Birdie stamp set, color, and die-cut using the coordinating dies.

Die-cut the images from white cardstock using the Build-A-Birdhouse dies. Color the images using Copic markers. Adhere to various layers to finish the images. Adhere all the images to the card. Stamp the word thanks from the Big Bold Greetings stamp set onto a black card using Versamark ink. Sprinkle WOW! opaque white embossing powder. Heat set. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere the word to the card. 

Add Nuvo crystal glaze to some of the elements and the card is ready. Thank you for dropping by!

Puppy Love Cards with Tina and Vanessa

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a card that features the super cute Puppy Love set which is so adorable for Valentine, but also for any occasion when you want to send a card to a loved one! In my case for my hubby who is a dog lover, well we all are in our family. And since we have two cute Nizinny dogs, Mira and Lena, this set was perfect!  

After stamping and die cutting the two doggies and the hats (from Dashing Dachshund) I colored them with Copic markers in pink and blue shades, which is a bright happy combination for winter cards.

Next, I cut the Autumn Tree die from a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock.
I added some touches of blue with my copics and lots of snow paste sprinkled with fine white glitter. While the tree was drying, I started working on my background layers.

First, I embossed an A2 size piece of Neenah paper with the beautiful Quilted Hearts embossing folder. I love that subtle pattern; it really brings so much dimension and detail to an otherwise plain white background. Next, I cut this embossed piece with the outer part of the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace die. This created a gorgeous, scalloped border around my panel.

My second background panel was cut, also from Neenah card stock with one of the dies from Scalloped Oval Mat 1. I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and a blending brush to ink up this oval, and splattered on some water droplets and white paint for a snowy effect. After stamping the sentiment from Puppy Love onto a white strip, I added a piece of white glitter paper as a mat for extra sparkle.

To assemble the card, I started by gluing the quilted panel to a card base. I didn’t have the exact same blue shade base, so I used a white one and took my blue copic marker to color a border. A simple trick to create matching card bases!

Next, I added the oval panel with foam tape and adhered the snowy tree with liquid glue. The doggies and sentiment were also mounted with dimensional tape. With all my elements in place, I could figure out where to add the beautiful and sparkly Heart Shapes Pearls. These pearls gave this card all that gorgeous shimmer and shine, just perfect for a very special card!

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a sweet little card using Puppy Love.

I started with a white card base and inked it with light red Distress Oxide ink. Now I stamped the houses from Charming City onto the front. I stamped the images onto white cardstock, colored them with Copics, die-cut everything with the matching dies and adhered the pieces to the card with foam tape.

Then I die-cut the border from the Slimline Basic Borders dies and adhered it to the top of the card. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of pink cardstock, trimmed it and added it to the card.

These puppies are adorable, don't you agree? Wishing you a wonderful weekend, everybody!

Reindeer Games Cards with Cathy and Bobbi

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing some warm winter wishes featuring these sweeties from the Reindeer Games Stamps!

To start this card, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies. I used the center portion of this die-cut piece for my background and inked it with Speckled Egg Distress ink. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Alpaca Holiday Stamps with white embossing powder.

Next, I die-cut the Autumn Tree Dies from light gray cardstock and cut the branches off. I adhered them to the left and right sides of the background piece and trimmed them along the edges. I die-cut birch trees from white and dark gray cardstock using the Rustic Winter Dies, adhered them to the left side and trimmed the excess along the top edge. I also die-cut the cardinals using these dies for a little pop of red above the reindeer.

For the snow along the bottom, I die-cut the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die from white cardstock and then die-cut the "sand" portion along the bottom edge using the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies. I then adhered this to the bottom of the panel lining up the scalloped edges. I adhered the background panel to the center of a gray A2 card base.

To finish, I stamped the reindeer on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I decided I wanted a white border, so I adhered the frame portion of the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies to the card front.

Hello Sunny Studio friends! It’s Bobbi here with a card featuring the new Reindeer Games stamps and dies. Jolly Santa must feed the reindeer before their big night, flying in the sky. This herd loves all things sweet including candy canes, colorful gumdrops, and peppermints, too. This is food fit for Rudolph and all the reindeer!

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I created a simple background scene using the Scenic Route stamps. I blended on some blue ink at the top for the sky. I splattered on a little white paint for snow and added a few darker dots of blue in the sky. A little blue coloring was also added to the trees. I wanted to keep the background super simple so all the attention would be on the foreground scene. It’s Santa feeding the reindeer gang!

I stamped, colored and die cut the reindeer and Santa. For the candy, I used the candy cane, peppermint and gumdrop dies from the Gingerbread House dies. I put two candy canes in Santa’s hands. The reindeer on both sides of Santa are ready to take a few licks from these sweet treats! Gumdrops and peppermints, plus a broken candy cane cover the snowy hills.

I stamped a few sentiments from the Reindeer Games stamps at the top and bottom and shaded around the elements to ground them and finish this card. I used the following Copic Marker colors to color in the elements:

Browns: E00, E04, E11, E42, E47, E44, E55, E57
Greens YG05, Yg07, YG02, Yg00
Reds: R89, R59, R29, R27, R14, R22, R20, R00
Cool Grays: 100, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00
Pinks: RV17, RV55, RV0
Blues: B000, B00, B02

I also used a Gelly Roll white ink pen for accents such as Santa’s beard and highlights on the candy pieces. Santa, the candy canes in his hands and the front-right side reindeer were attached using dimensional foam tabs.

Mini Mat & Tag Die Focused Projects with Vanessa and Tina

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a set of Christmas tags using the Mini Mat & Tag dies.

These dies are such fun to play with! I die-cut tags, rectangles, stars, shapes etc from white, black, vellum and gold cardstock and combined these to create various tags. 

For an interactive feature, I die-cut a window from two rectangles, adhered vellum to both sides and filled the inside with small stars and sequins.

Onto some of the tiny tags I stamped "noel" and added a little star to replace the diereses.

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with two mini cards for you today. I love making this smaller size card because it always looks so cute! Especially for the holiday season, it’s fun to create something different than the standard A2 size.

There are 4 beautiful mini mats with tags in the new release, today I am featuring the rectangle dies from Mini Mat & Tag 2 and Mini Mat & Tag 3. I used a smaller rectangle from the Infinity set to create a frame from both mats. Next, I also created two rectangle panels from Neenah card stock and ink blended the sky portion with a soft green combination of Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover. Since these are Christmas cards, of course I had to do some splattering with water and white paint droplets to give the illusion of snowflakes. To finish the background panel, I cut two snowbanks from a shiny white card stock I had in my stash.

I stamped all my images using Reindeer Games (the cute reindeer), Santa Claus Lane (stockings) and the Penguin Party set (stars). All the coloring was done with Copic markers, adding snow details with a white gel pen.

The Autumn Tree die was perfect as branches to hang the stockings. Since these are mini cards, I only needed to cut one tree and divided it in half for each of the cards. I wanted the branches to look frosted, so I only added some warm grey tones in a few spots. The sentiment from Reindeer Games was stamped onto two skinny strips of white card stock.

I created two white mini card bases and glued a dark teal panel to both. Next, I worked on my background panel, gluing the branches in place, adding the snowbanks and finally the reindeer, stockings, and stars. Then, I mounted the Mini Mat frames to the backgrounds with foam tape for dimension. After adhering the sentiments, I could glue the mini mat frames to the card bases.

These mini cards turned out so cute, and they were a lot of fun to make! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!
