Birthday Mouse Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing a cheerful birthday card made with the cutest little Birthday Mouse.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Birthday Mouse Birthday Card by Janneke Peters (featuring Perfect Gift Boxes Dies, Sydney Alphabet Dies)

I started by creating the background. First, I die-cut a card panel from the beautiful yellow Sunburst paper and trimmed a strip of the colorful plaid paper. Both patterned papers come from the Spring Sunburst Paper Block. I adhered them to a white cardstock base to create a bright and festive layout.

To give the transition between the two papers a polished look, I added a thin strip of gold glitter cardstock and I finished it with a pretty glittery bow, die-cut using the bow from the Wicker Basket dies.

Using the leftover yellow Sunburst paper, I die-cut the ‘hooray’ sentiment with the Sydney Alphabet dies. From the remaining plaid paper, I created the colorful gift boxes using the Perfect Gift Boxes dies. I then die-cut the gift box bows from gold glitter cardstock and cut a second set of the ‘hooray’ letters from shiny gold cardstock to use as a shadow layer behind the yellow letters, giving the sentiment extra dimension.

For the focal point, I stamped the adorable Birthday Mouse and colored it with my Ohuhu pencils. To finish the card, I adhered all the elements to the background and added a few gold stars for a little extra sparkle and a festive finishing touch.

Card done, ready to send joy! Thanks for joining me, and see you next week.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Sweet As Can Bee Cards with Leanne West

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I'm very happy to be here to share a couple of bee theme cards I have made using the absolutely adorable Sweet As Can Bee stamp set and matching dies. I've also done a little creative fussy cutting to make a custom bee hive. I'll explain how to do this in detail below.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee Cards by Leanne West

This first card includes lots of images and a sentiment from the Sweet As Can Bee stamp set as well as my custom-made bee hive.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee Cards by Leanne West

Making your own card stock bee hive is very easy to do. Start with creating a template by folding a small sheet of copy paper in half. Next draw the bee hive shape on the folded paper like you see in the photo below. If you'd like to make the same size as mine, use the measurements in the photo. Next cut the shape out and unfold the paper. Now you have a template for a perfectly symmetrical hive which you can trace onto card stock and fussy cut out. I cut mine out of pale yellow card stock. I then added shading and splatters to give the hive some definition and interest. Lastly, I used a 3/4" paper punch to create the opening and backed it with a dark brown card stock.

After my bee hive was complete, I stamped the sentiment and then adhered it with foam tape to a panel vellum cut slightly smaller than A2 size. I embellished this panel with lots of Copic colored flowers and bees. Once I had the placement of everything just right, I adhered my little bee hive scene onto a pink A2 size card front. The pink card front was splattered beforehand with gold and pink watercolor to give it a speckled look.

For the second card, I have created another playful scene with the bees and flowers, only this time I used the Frilly Frames Hexagon Dies to create a background that perfectly pairs with the Sweet As Can Bee stamp set

The Hexagon Frame has been die cut from light yellow card stock and then backed with a creamy ivory card stock. I then layered this frame over top a bright pink panel slightly smaller than my A2 size card base.

I wanted the sentiment to take center stage on the card with the bees and flowers surrounding it. I used a combination of word stamps from Sweet As Can Bee and the Sydney Alphabet Dies to create this fun sentiment. I then added the flowers and bees to create the carefree style composition.

I hope I have given you a bit of new inspiration for making whimsical bee theme cards. Thanks so much for joining me today! Copics used to color the images are listed below.

bright pink - RV10, RV13, RV14; medium pink - R83, R85; bright green - YG11, YG13, YG17; medium green - YG61, YG63; bright yellow- Y11, Y13, Y17; mustard yellow - YR32, Y2; black- N2, N4, N6; cool shading on white flowers -C1, C3; light blue shading on bee wings - B00

Party Pets Card with Yan

Hey crafty friends! It's Yan here, and today I'm super excited to share a fresh slice of summer inspiration featuring the absolutely adorable Party Pets Stamp! Let's dive right into the details!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Party Pets & Juicy Watermelon Thank You Card by Yan X DIY (featuring Ribbon & Lace Border Dies, Sydney Alphabet Dies)

I started by stamping the sleeping cat from the Party Pets Stamp onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Right after that, I die-cut three watermelons from white cardstock using the Juicy Watermelon Dies. To bring them all to life, I reached for my favorite Copic markers and gave them some bright, juicy colors. Once I finished blending everything, I used the matching Party Pets Dies to cut out the sweet kitty beautifully.

COPIC COLORS USED:
Cat: E30, E31, E35, E39, E41, R30
Watermelons: G19, R30, R35, R43, YG03, YG17, YG63, W7

For the background panel, I wanted to create a fun, colorful foundation. I used the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies to give the bottom of my white cardstock a lovely scalloped edge, and then I softly ink-blended it using Saltwater Taffy and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks to mimic those perfect watermelon tones.

Next came the bold sentiment. I die-cut the word 'MELON' three times using the Sydney Alphabet Dies and layered them together with glue because I absolutely love the extra dimension it adds.

When it was finally time to assemble the card, I popped the background, the stacked word, the watermelons, and our sleepy little kitten into place using foam tape. That little bit of lift really makes the whole playful scene pop!

That wraps up today’s project! I really hope this bright summer greeting brings a smile to your face and sparks your creativity. Wishing you all a wonderful day of crafting!

Hey everyone, Marieke here. I'm back again with my weekly post for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I hope to inspire you with a card that I made using the Build-A-Bowl and fruit dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Bowl and Strawberry Patch Card by Marieke Slaats

For my card I cut a top fold white base card. Cut the front of the card using the inner piece of the Frilly Frames Hexagon dies to create a see thru card. Ink Blending a panel using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. Splattered some water and green ink and glued the panel on the inside of the card.

Die cut the strawberries out of the Strawberry Patch Dies using green, pink, yellow, black and white cardstock. Ink Blended the strawberries using Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink. Glued the strawberries together. For the front panel I Inked up the leaves using Forest Moss before glueing them to the front of the card.

Die cut the Build-A-Bowl Dies out of white cardstock and glued the strawberries on the back before glueing them to the card. Die cut the word sweet using the Sydney Alphabet dies and white cardstock. Glued it on the inside before stamping birthday out of the Birthday Cat Stamp.

Used Copic Colors:
Black - T6, T4, T2
Yellow - Y38, Y35, Y32
Wings - B02, B00, B000, 0

Heat set the other sentiment from the same Birthday Cat Stamp on some black cardstock and trimmed it down to a small banner. Stamped the bees out of Sweet As Can Bee stamp, colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them using the matching Sweet As Can Bee dies. Added them to the front of the card and finished off using some wink of stella clear glitter on to the wings.

Have a wonderful day!

Cruisin’ Cuisine Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I have a clean, simple and punny card to share with you showcasing the Cruisin’ Cuisine set. Isn’t this food truck just the cutest? This fun set comes with several options of food for decorating the truck. I saw the French fries and couldn’t resist. Who doesn’t love French fries, right???

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cruisin' Cuisine & Holiday Hugs Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Sydney Alphabet Dies)

I stamped the images from the Cruisin’ Cuisine Stamps and the adorable bear from the Holiday Hugs Stamps sets set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I wanted an extra box of French fries for the bear so I masked off the burger half of the clear stamp, inked it up, removed the mask and stamped just the fries. A black pen was used to draw in the lines for the remainder of the french fries box. I used the coordinating Cruisin’ Cuisine Dies and Holiday Hugs Dies to die cut them out. I fussy cut off the excess part of the die cut for the extra box of fries. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Burger: E51/53/33, YG01/03, R14/24, Y17, E33/35
French fries: Y11/15/19 YR23, R14/24/29
Truck: R14/24/29, Y13/15, C1, W5/7, B0000/00
Bear: E50/51/53/33, R000/00/20, W5/7
Scarf: RV10/21
Letters: Y11/15/19 YR23

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cruisin' Cuisine & Holiday Hugs Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Sydney Alphabet Dies)

I kept the background clean and simple with a light ink blending of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink for a bit of color. I matted the panel with a slightly larger piece of black cardstock.

I couldn’t resist making a punny sentiment for the card. I used the Sydney Alphabet Dies to die cut each of the “FRIES” letters out of white cardstock three times. I colored one set of letters with Copic markers. The letters were stacked and adhered to each other and then the panel with liquid glue. I did some creative masking and partial stamping to create the “I only have” part of the sentiment with sentiments from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamps and Foxy Friends Stamps sets. The “for you” sentiment is from the Fabulous Flamingo set. I trimmed out the sub-sentiments and adhered them to the panel with foam tape.

The extra box of fries was adhered to the bear and the bear was adhered to the panel with foam tape. Finally, the panel was adhered to a white A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”).

Build-A-Bowl & Strawberry Patch Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing a card featuring Build-A-Bowl and Strawberry Patch dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Bowl & Strawberry Patch Friendship Card by Janneke Peters (featuring Sprawling Surfaces, Monkey Business, Sydney Alphabet Dies)

For this card, I started by die-cutting the card base from dark blue cardstock. I also cut a small strip from light brown cardstock to create the ground for my little scene. I masked off the edges of the brown strip and stamped the floor, using Sprawling Surfaces stamp set and adhered it onto the blue background.

Next, I die-cut the bowl and the word “hello”, using Sydney Alphabet,  from matte gold cardstock. From white cardstock, I die-cut the fruit, leaves, and blossoms from the Strawberry Patch die set and I blended ink onto it.

To make the card even more fun, I stamped two little monkeys from the Monkey Business stamp set and colored them with my Ohuhu markers. I attached one monkey onto the bowl as if it was hanging from it, while the second monkey was tucked between the strawberries holding a strawberry in its hand.

After adhering all the elements onto the card, I finished everything off by adding some dots alongside the letters. I absolutely love how vibrant and playful the entire scene looks against the dark blue background!

Card done, ready to send joy! Thanks for joining me, and see you next week.
