Comic Strip Everyday Home Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share a card set featuring the cute home-themed images from the Comic Strip Everyday Dies.

For my first card showcasing the Comic Strip Everyday Dies, I have a fall card using the house, trees, clouds, and hearts from the set to create an autumn scene. I mixed and matched tone-on-tone patterned papers from a number of different sets, including our Critter Country Paper, Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones Paper, and Gingham Jewel Tones Paper. For the grassy hillsides, I used the Mini Grass Border Dies. Finally, for my greeting, I heat-embossed the sentiment "Wishing you a beautiful Autumn season" from our Beautiful Autumn Stamps onto a brown pennant strip from our Stitched Rectangle Dies.

For my second card using the Comic Strip Everyday Dies, I focused on utilizing all the images and elements from the set. I cut the comic strip frame from black cardstock and backed it with a piece of blue cardstock for my sky. I then set to work filling each frame with the trees, houses, cards, clouds, sunshine, and grass from the set. To give my homes the look of lap siding, I cut them from striped patterned paper from our Striped Silly Paper pack. The trees were cut from the green heart print from our Rainbow Bright Paper pack. To complete my card, I heat embossed the phrase "home sweet home" in the top, right corner from our Happy Home Stamps.

Merry Mocha Card with Marine

Hey crafty friends, Marine here with you today! I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this lovely autumn card featuring some warm and delicious treats from different sets (listed down below), as well as four cheeky kitties from Birthday Cat. Once again, I stenciled my background, stamped and colored my images on kraft cardstock to emphasize the whole autumn vibe of the scene I had in mind. I really love how it turned out, and hope you like it, too!

I started off by stamping my images on kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush markers. For the Merry Mocha cup, I masked the snowflake, stamped the cup, and then stamped the acorn on the cup to turn my Merry Mocha winter cup into an autumn cup.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Merry Mocha - cup (with the acorn) • Mug Hugs - other cups, candy cane, heart • Beautiful Autumn - acorns, leaves • Bountiful Autumn & Fall Friends - pumpkins • Cruisin' Cuisine - donut • Birthday Cat - cats • Happy Harvest - sunflowers.

Next I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches kraft panel, and added a plaid texture using the Buffalo Plaid Straight die. And I used the Straight Stripes stencil along with vintage photo and ground espresso oxide inks to color my panel. I white heat embossed "Wishing you a beautiful autumn season" from Beautiful Autumn at the top of my panel, and then attached all my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

As always, I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and that's it! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Dotted Diamond Background Die Focused Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a sweet shaped card featuring the elegant Dotted Diamond dies which are available in portrait (as used today) and landscape. These amazing dies really give that subtle extra embellishment to an otherwise plain panel! Love that!

To create this shaped card, I started with a rectangle panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock which I ran through the die cut machine using the Dotted Diamond Portrait die. Next I cut this panel with the large acorn die from Nutty For You and inked it in a light brown color using Distress Oxides Antique linen and Walnut Stain. The separate top part was made from a striped paper (Critter Country pad).

Next, I stamped and die cut the sweet fox, pumpkins and leaves mixing and matching several sets (Fall Friends, Harvest Mice, Fall Kiddos and Beautiful Autumn). All the coloring was done with Copics, I went with rich Fall colors trying to get some strong contrasts.

After arranging all my images onto the acorn, I noticed there wasn’t much room left for a sentiment! However, I found the perfect little message when I took out the Turkey Day set and stamped it onto the tiniest little tag from my stash with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Now let’s assemble the card, starting by adhering the acorn to a card base. It’s easy to create a shaped base, just fold your paper in half, use your shape die but only die cut partially (leaving the top fold intact). After adding the colorful top of the acorn, I glued all my elements in place. A little trick to help your card stand up nicely is to straighten the bottom of the back of your card base so it’s a flat line. I secured the tiny tag with a string to the stem and that finishes this sweet card.
