Holiday Hugs Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with an autumn themed card featuring this sweet Holiday Hugs bear and his Wood Barrel full of pumpkins. 

I stamped the bear from the Holiday Hugs Stamp set, pumpkins from the Harvest Mice Stamp and leaves from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Holiday Hugs Dies, Harvest Mice Dies and Beautiful Autumn Dies to diecut them out. I made sure to use the special die that allows you to diecut the arms on the bear to allow the him to hold a pumpkin. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

I used the Wood Barrel Die to diecut a barrel out of kraft and silver shine cardstock. Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink was used to add some color to the barrel. I adhered the metal straps with liquid glue. The outer die of the Frilly Frames Polka Dot Die was used to diecut a white panel. I adhered the bear, leaves and barrel of pumpkins to the panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the "Autumn" sentiment from the Autumn Garland Stamp set and the "Greetings" sentiment from the Holiday Hugs Stamp with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Autumn Garland Dies and a paper trimmer to trim them out. I adhered the sentiments onto the barrel with some foam tape for a bit of dimension. Finally, I adhered a piece of craft foam to the back of the panel before adhering the entire panel to a kraft colored cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").

Autumn Greenery & Pumpkin Patch Fall Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share a couple of cards featuring the beautiful leaf images from the Autumn Greenery Dies.

For my first card showcasing the Autumn Greenery Dies, I die-cut the two oak leaves and acorn from white cardstock and colored them in warm fall hues of distress inks. I paired them with the larger acorn from the Basic Mini Shape 5 Dies and the Tree Branch Die, cut from woodgrain textured cardstock. For the bottom portion of my card, I added a trio of layered pumpkins also cut from white cardstock using our Pumpkin Patch Dies, inking them with Carved Pumpkin, Spice Marmalade & Rusty Hinge distress inks. I mounted them all onto a pierced background using our Dotted Diamond Portrait Die. For my greeting, I used a sentiment from the Bountiful Autumn Stamps, and fussy cut the word "thankful" with my scissors. Lastly, I added highlights and shine to the acorns and pumpkins with a white gel pen.

For my second card using the Autumn Greenery Dies, I used the Maple leaf from the set as filler inside my Wood Barrel to embellish around the two birdhouses from our Build-a-Birdhouse Dies. Again, I started by die-cutting the leaves from white cardstock and inking them with shades of orange, red, and deep maroon to add interest. I thought a pretty teal blue and aqua would offset the red and orange leaves nicely, so I cut my birdhouses and birds from ivory, red, and teal cardstock. I cut the base of my barrel from kraft cardstock and the metal bands from metallic silver cardstock. The Wood Barrell Die was designed to allow you to slip strips of scratch paper between the slats to ink up one side of the slat to add shadows and dimension. Every time I play with them, I fall in love with them all over again!

To frame my little scene, I used the outer zig-zag edge of the Frilly Frames Chevron Dies, layered over a teal diagonal grid print from the Gingham Jewel Tones Paper pack. I completed my card by stamping a greeting from the Little Birdie Stamps onto the Brilliant Banner 3 Dies, which I had cut from a pale aqua color cardstock and then inked up in an ombre from light to dark to match the paper and other elements. This card felt a bit up in the air when I was in the midst of trying to choose a color scheme. However, I am utterly smitten with how all the elements came together in the end. This would be a fun card design to reimagine for all four seasons.

Crisp Apple Fall Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some fall scene cards showcasing our Crisp Apple Dies.

My first card featuring the Crisp Apple Dies uses both the large apple and the apple core pieces in a clean & simple grid-style card. To achieve that gorgeous shine on my apple, I cut the pieces from white cardstock and then inked up the outside edges with Candied Apple and Fired Brick dstress inks, leaving a portion of the white cardstock uninked for the illusion of a reflection. For my background, I embossed a piece of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then rubbed the surface with my Antique Linen distress ink pad, before using a blending brush to smooth out the coverage. For my greeting, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Punny Apple Greeting Stamps onto a small pennant strip inked up to match from the Notebook Photo Corners Die (which I ran through my die-cutting machine twice to shorted a bit).

My second card pairs the smaller apple from the Crisp Apple Dies with the Wood Barrel Dies. I once again cut the main part of my green apples from white cardstock and then inked them with Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. For my barrel I cut the wood slats of the barrell using kraft cardstock, inking the left edge of each with Vintage Photo distress ink by sliding a thin piece of printer paper between the slats as a mask. I then cut the metal bands from a matte silver metallic cardstock for a touch of realism. For my card background I trimmed a piece of green diagional green print from the Classic Gingham Paper pack. To frame my barrel of apples, I used the Stitched Oval Dies to cut a blue gingham print from that same paper pack and then layered it over the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Die. I completed my card by cutting the Brilliant Banner 3 dies from white cardstock and inking them up with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink in an ombre to match the patterned paper. I then heat embossed my sentiment using another phrase from the Punny Apple Greetings Stamps.
