Rounded Rectangle Window Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello there, this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog where I'm sharing a happy and super cute birthday shaker card, featuring our Rounded Rectangle Window Dies. Read on for the how-to details.

I took an A2 panel of white cardstock and die cut an opening using one of the dies from the Rounded Rectangle Window Die set. I backed this panel with a panel of acetate, sealing tightly around the window opening with ScorPal tape. I then ink blended the negative cut with pink and blue inks. I laid the top panel over a second A2 panel, lined up and glued down the ink blended negative cut so that it would appear perfectly behind the shaker window eventually. I then formed a shaker 'pouch' or space using dimensional foam tape, I sprinkled on the filler and sealed it all in by lowering and adhering the top panel. I set this to one side.

I selected two kittens from the Party Pets stamp set and stamped and coloured them with the following Copic markers:

Kittens - W5, W4, W3, W1, W0
Balloons - BG45, B01, B00 - R39, R29, R24 - RV02, RV10, RV00

I added their party hats and backed them with foam tape and adhered them. For the sentiment, I stamped it boldly with red ink and then die cut with the coordinating Party Pets dies and applied with foam tape.

Tulip Path Background Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this lovely Valentine card showcasing the gorgeous Tulip Path Background stamp set that I mixed with two characters from Spring Showers to create a sweet scene at the park.

I started off by creating a fairly simple background and cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Quilted Hearts Portrait panel out of kraft cardstock that I attached to a brown panel using 1mm foam squares, and then to a white card base using liquid glue.

Next I stamped the Tulip Path Background twice on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. From the first panel, I cut a snippet featuring the tulips and the path using the fifth smallest Rounded Rectangle Window die, and from the second panel, I cut two snippets featuring the mill and the trees using the third and fourth smallest Rounded Rectangle Window dies. I colored those three little scenes using my Ohuhu markers, matted them on slightly larger white panels I cut using the third, fourth and fifth smallest Rounded Rectangle Mat dies, and then attached the three panels on the card base using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

I stamped additional images: clouds and butterflies from Tulip Path Background, and characters and kites from Spring Showers. I cut them using the matching dies, colored everything using my Ohuhu markers again, and stuck those images to the card using foam squares. I white heat embossed "You make my heart soar" from Balloon Rides on dark brown cardstock and cut it into a slim banner that I attached at the bottom left corner of my card. I stamped two bird silhouettes on the mill snippet using a stamp from Spring Scenes, applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the butterflies wings to make them sparkle, and finished the card with highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

Rounded Rectangle Window Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this lovely Valentine winter shaker card showcasing the Rounded Rectangle Windows die set. If you're a fan of shaker cards like me, you will love the different sizes of dies and all the possibilities to create multiple styles of shakers! I personally look forward to using this die set again on other projects! I'm using one of my favorite stamp sets from the Fall & Winter 2024 release, Snowmen In Sweaters, and since Valentine's Day happens during the winter season, I thought it would be fun to mix those two themes and create a super cute and fun card.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. As always I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Snowmen In Sweaters - snowmen, trees, snowflakes • Scenic Route - houses, lights • Bighearted Bears - envelopes.

I cut two large Rounded Rectangle Mat panels out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock and created the same landscape on both panels: a snowy border using tumbled glass and peacock feathers oxide inks, and the sky using spun sugar, worn lipstick and festive berries oxide inks.

Once they both were dry, I set one panel aside for later, and cut three Rounded Rectangle Windows out of the second panel using the third smallest die from the set, and stamped my "Love you snow much" greeting from Bighearted Bears and Feeling Frosty right below the windows. At the back of my window panel, I attached a piece of acetate using liquid glue, and added foam strips on the four edges of the panel and all around the windows as well. I poured crystal stones and red heart confetti inside each window, attached the houses on the first panel using liquid glue, and stuck that panel to the foam strips to totally close my shaker panel.

I attached my Rounded Rectangle Mat shaker panel to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches white card base, and stuck the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I added a dot of glossy accents to each light, white blizzard nuvo drops to the snow on the trees, and finally highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Birthday Cards with Rachel Alvarado

Hello crafty friends! It's Rachel here and I have a few projects to share with you that showcase some really cute products from the new release.

For my first project, I created a 4.25" x 5.5" verical A2 card combining the beautiful Magestic Meadow Background Stamp along with some sweet bunnies from the Balloon Numbers Stamps and fun balloons and party hats from the Party Pets Stamps and Party Pets Die Set.

I used my MISTI to stamp all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Next, I colored my images and background scenery with Copic markers and used their coordinating die sets to cut them all out. After stamping my "It's Your Birthday!" sentimet from the Party Pups Stamp Set onto the grassy area of my card, I then set my images aside to work on the ink-blended portion of my background.

I trimmed a piece of smooth white card stock to 4" x 5.25" and lightly blended the center section of it with some Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Inks. I then added this layer to my white card base and next adhered my background piece on top of this with some dimensional foam tape. Lastly, I adhered my images with some more 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

I made two mini cards for my next two projects using the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies for my card base.

I also used the Rounded Rectangle Window Dies to create a stitched window for my shaker card. I die cut five pink frames and glued four of them together with some liquid adhesive and placed them on my rounded rectangle card base that I had blended with some Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks. I next sprinkled some sequin embellishments on top of my ink blended base and then adhered a clear rounded rectangle acetate window on top of my stack of frames to seal off the embellishments. Lastly, I added my top pink frame as well as some sweet images from the Cat Antics and Party Pets stamp sets.

My last card also features images from the Party Pets Stamp Set as well as a party banner from the previously released Panda Party Stamp Set. I heat embossed my sentiment onto a piece of black card stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and cut it out with the coordinating Party Pets Die Set. I lightly blended my white background with some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink and then added my colored images with some more 3D foam adhesive tape for added interest.

Cat Antics Card with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I'm excited to start sharing my cards made with the new release. Today's card features some of the adorable images from Cat Antics. 

I have used the new Rounded Rectangle Window dies to create a trio of windows in which I have arranged these playful kitties. I used two sizes of the Rounded Rectangle Window dies to cut out the openings into a white card panel measuring 5.5" wide by 4" tall. Using foam tape, I adhered my custom window panel over top a pink and green ink blended background. 

Here are the Copics I used to color the images:

black & white cat - N0, N2, N4, N6, N8
grey & white strip cat - T1, T2, T4, T6
Siamese cat - YR30, W3, E70, E71, E74, E77

I picked out four of the cat images, the box, and the mouse toy from the Cat Antics stamp set to Copic color and use on this card. After coloring and die cutting with the Cat Antics dies, I played around with the images in the window spaces until I found a pleasing arrangement that also allowed room to stamp a sentiment in one of the windows. The "pawsitive vibes" word stamp is included in the Cat Antics set. The "especially for you" stamp is from the Inside Greetings Seasons set.
