My Otter Half Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some otter-themed cards for summer using our My Otter Half Stamps.

For my first card, I stamped and masked off the kelp and underwater plants from our Ocean View Stamps, Best Fishes Stamps, and Fintastic Friends Stamps so they were all on a single layer along the bottom of my card. I used the large clear stamp in my positioning tool to mirror the rock and plant image from the Ocean View stamps so that the tall portions of the plant could be on the outer edges for both sides of my card. I then layered a piece of aqua colored vellum which I die-cut along the top using our Slimline Nature Border Dies. I happened to have this vellum in my stash, but I also found some colorful assortments on Amazon HERE, HERE, and HERE.

The two adorable otters from our My Otter Half Stamps take center stage, with half of their bodies under the water and half above. I didn't want to mess with spray adhesive, so I used my sewing machine to stitch the vellum in place. Sadly, my machine has issues, so don't look too closely. I inked up some clouds to match the turquoise water using Peacock Feathers distress ink and our Fluffy Cloud Border Dies cut from masking material. I completed my card by stamping one of the punny sentiments from the set on a speech bubble from our Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Dies and adding three tiny hearts from our Basic Mini Shape 2 Dies.

For my second card, I started my scene by layering the mountains and trees from our Spring Scenes Stamps along the top of my card and then tucked in a grassy border using our Mini Grass Border Dies. For my lake, I inked up my cardstock panel with Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks before drawing loose ripples with my B16 Copic Marker. For my family of otters from the My Otter Half Stamps, I carefully cut the two snuggling otter apart so that I could tuck them around the mama otter holding the baby otter to look like a family of four. I then stamped the punny phrase "We Need Each Otter" onto our Brilliant Banner 2 Dies which I die-cut from a green print from the Classic Sunburst Paper pack.

Tiki Time Card with Amanda

Hey there, fellow cardmaking enthusiasts! Amanda here with you. Are you loving summer as much as I am?! It is THE BEST! I have made so many summer scene cards and I love it!! Today, I am sharing another one with you! This card features some really cute kitties on the beach enjoying some drinks! Keep reading to see how I created this card!

First, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.25”x5.5”. I stamped the beach background from the Ocean View Stamps with black ink. From the Tiki Time Stamps, I stamped my “Aloha” sentiment in my horizon.

Next, I stamped the kitties from the Cat Antics Stamps. I also stamped the tiki torches, tiki bar, and drinks from the Tiki Time Stamps.  

I colored the background and my images in with Copic markers. I added some white highlights and dots using a white Gelly Roll pen. Then, I die cut the images out with their coordinating die sets. 

I put foam squares behind all of the images to prop them up and then adhered them to the card front. I then, glued my panel to an A2 card base.  

This scene just makes me want to go to the beach! Those kitties are just having too much fun! I hope you continue to enjoy your summer and also find some time to get crafty!

Fintastic Friends Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun "just because" card featuring the super cute Fintastic Friends set. This set is filled with so many adorable underwater images and punny sentiments.

I stamped the images from the Fintastic Friends stamps and Ocean View Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Fintastic Friends Dies and Ocean View Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and diecut three windows into it using the second and third smallest dies from the Stitched Circle Large Dies and the third smallest die from the Stitched Circle Small Dies. I stamped some bubbles from the Fintastic Friends Stamp set directly onto the panel with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink. I adhered the panel to a piece of patterned paper (trimmed to 4.25" x 5.5") from the Summer Splash Paper pack.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "You're Fintastic" from the Fintastic Friends stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used a paper trimmer to cut it out. 

I adhered the sentiment and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Kiddie Pool Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun summertime birthday card featuring these adorable images from the Kiddie Pool and Ocean View sets. The school year is coming to an end, the first day of summer is just around the corner and these kiddos are all ready for some fun in the sun! Aren't they just the cutest?! The boy leaping into the pool is my favorite!

I stamped the horizon background image from the Ocean View stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. On another piece of Neenah cardstock, I stamped the images from the Kiddie Pool Stamps set with the same Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The coordinating Kiddie Pool Dies to diecut them out. I colored all of the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

I lightly inked the top edge of the panel with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink for the sky. I trimmed 1/8" off of the edges to clear away any harsh coloring or inking at the edges. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Party Pets stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Party Pets Dies to diecut it out. For the sub sentiment, I stamped the "Make a splash!" sentiment from the Kiddie Pool Stamps set directly onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I adhered the pool and some of the images directly onto the panel with liquid adhesive. I adhered the sentiment, the leaping boy and the girl sitting in the foreground to the panel with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5").
