Moroccan Circle Embossing Folder Christmas Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Moroccan Circle Embossing Folder.

For my cards today, I was having fun experimenting with Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glazes. I started by inking up a 6x6 white cardstock panel with Peacock Feathers Distress Inks before running the panel through my die-cutting machine with the Moroccan Circle Embossing Folder. I then pressed my Versamark Ink Pad directly to the surface, trying to coat the entire panel, before sprinkling it with Evergreen Bough distress embossing glaze. When I created the panel, I wasn't sure how I was going to use it, and I wanted to be able to crop it around any mistakes I might make. I love how the speckled glossy embossed background invokes the feeling of real handmade Moroccan tiles!

I thought red would look so good against the teal green background, so I embellished my card with three layered Pristine Poinsettia Dies. Each flower is comprised of three stacked layers, twisted to show 9 petals in all. I used a paper piercer to poke a hole down the center and inserted a small red brad to hold the layers together tightly, before using a craft hammer to completely flatten the head of the brad. This gave me a smooth surface to adhere groupings of Red Zicron Jewels adhered with Multi Matte Medium, which dries clear. Our Winter Greenery Dies cut from a couple different shades of green cardstock were used as filler around the poinsettia flowers. I completed my card by heat embossing the "Enjoy the Beauty of the Season" sentiment from our Inside Greetings Christmas Stamps on a black pennant cut with the Notebook Photo Corners Dies.

For my second card, I started with the leftover embossed strip cut off the first card using the Moroccan Circle Embossing Folder. I decided to experiment some more by adding a second layer of Versamark Ink and another coat of Evergreen Bough Distress Embossing Glaze. This second pass filled in some low spots and made the surface even more glossy and smooth. The additional layer also deepened the rich green color of the glaze over the original peacock feathers inked cardstock. On my second pass there were a few low spots I couldn't see that I had missed with the Versamark Ink pad, so going back with the VersaMark Pen was the perfect way to touch things up and make those misses almost entirely invisible. I really struggled to get good crisp photos of this beauty of the glaze since my camera wanted to focus on the wreath, but it's stunning in person!

I used our Winter Wreaths Stamps for the focal point of my card, embellishing it with the bow, mini layered poinsettias, berries, and extra bough image. I chose to stamp my wreath and evergreen sprigs onto green cardstock to help the die-cut images fill out and blend with the stamped images for a tone-on-tone look. I heat-embossed a simple "noel" greeting in the center of my wreath from the Classy Christmas Stamps and added a scalloped lace border from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. Lastly, I added some more mini Red Zicron Jewels to the center of each poinsettia for an extra touch of holiday shine.

Holiday Hugs & Woolen Mitten Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun mitten shaped card featuring these absolutely adorable bear from the Holiday Hugs set as well as a custom made sentiment using the new Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp set. 

I stamped the bear and mug from the Holiday Hugs Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Holiday Hugs Dies to die-cut them out. I made sure to use the special die that allows you to diecut the arms on the bear to allow her to hold the mug. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

Merry Everything and Happy Always! I love this fun sentiment, but it is hard to find a premade clear stamp for it. I used the recently released Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp set for this task. This fun stamp set has oodles of holiday-themed words and is just perfect for creating custom sentiments. I aligned the words that I needed and stamped onto a piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used a paper trimmer to trim it out. 

Next, I used the Woolen Mitten Dies to die-cut the mitten once out of pink and twice out of white cardstock. I also diecut the cuff out of pink cardstock. The pink mitten was placed into the Cable Knit 6 x 6 Embossing Folder and run through the die-cutting machine. This created a beautiful, deep-knit impression on the mitten. I adhered the pink to one of the white mittens. Foam tape was used to adhere the cuff to the pink mitten.

In order to create a hinge for the card, I used a score board to score a line along the top 0.5" of the second white mitten. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Inside Greetings Seasons Stamp set onto this white mitten with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used a strong double-sided tape to adhere the two white mittens to each other along the previously scored 0.5" space along the top of the mitten.

The colored images and the sentiment were adhered to the card front with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. I finished the card with a few white snowflakes die-cut using the Basic Mini Shape 2 and Basic Mini Shape 5 Dies.

Happy Owlidays Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina with another idea for a cute Christmas card! Today we are creating a holiday wreath with the adorable Happy Owlidays stamp and die set. I have always been a fan of cute owls and this set has three of them! If you would like to make multiples of this design you can switch out the owl for some variation!

This project was made with red, pink and teal colors, such a festive color combo in my opinion. After creating a simple white card base, I cut a teal background panel from the Striped Silly pack with the outer die from the Rounded Rectangle Mat set. While I had these dies out, I used the second largest one to create a white panel.

To add extra interest and dimension, I ran both panels through my die cutting machine using the Cable Knit embossing folder. This folder is perfect for all your winter cards! I glued both panels to the white card base with liquid glue.

Next, I stamped one of the cute owls and the wreath from the Happy Owlidays stamp set. The Santa hat was taken from Alpaca Holiday. I had fun coloring these images with my Copics. As always on my Christmas cards, I added a lot of snow with a white gel pen.

The beautiful large Merry Christmas sentiment (Holiday Greetings) was stamped with a red ink from my stash. It was the perfect fit for this design!

After mounting the wreath and sentiment to the panel with foam tape, I selected a few snowflakes made with the Snowflake Circle Frame die which is an absolute must have for your holiday projects. So easy to create a bunch of snowflakes in one pass through the machine! Lastly, I embellished the card by adding a Red Zircon Jewel to the center of each snowflake.

Classy Christmas Poinsettia & Holly Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Classy Christmas Stamps.

First, I made a card focusing on the holly leaves and berry images from the Classy Christmas Stamps. I arranged the holly groupings around a navy Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Die, which I then mounted onto a white Stitched Oval 2 Die. For my background, I embossed a piece of red cardstock using the Quilted Hearts Embossing Folder and inked the edges with Candied Apple and Fired Brick Distress Ink. I completed my card by heat-embossing the "Have a holly jolly Christmas" greeting from the Deck The Halls Stamps to tie my theme together.

For my second card, I die-cut a navy scalloped mat using the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace Dies and backed the lace openings with black cardstock before mounting it onto a green A2-sized panel. I then embellished my card with the poinsettias, leaves, pinecones, and berries from the Classy Christmas Stamps, which I had colored with Copic Markers. Lastly, I white heat-embossed my "Merry Christmas" phrase from the Holiday Greetings Stamps onto a piece of navy cardstock and die-cut it using the coordinating Holiday Greetings Dies to help it blend into my background.
