Designer's Choice: Roly Poly Penguins Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with another inspiration to share with you for the most adorable Roly Poly Penguin set. I just can't get enough of these cuties! 

I have a question ... how do you feel about that white border between the stamped image and where the dies cut? Some people prefer fussy cutting right up to the stamped line. Others prefer having that white border. Today, I decided to do something a little different and to use that white border to my advantage. I colored in that white border to represent the cookie part of my penguin-shaped frosted cookies!

I stamped the images from the Roly Poly Penguin stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Roly Poly Penguins Dies to die cut them out. I also created some snowflake cookies by using the Nested Circle Infinity Dies to die cut three 1.5" circles. I colored them with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

White: C0/1
Cookie: E53/55

For the snowflake cookies, I added some snowflakes die cut from white cardstock using the Woolen Mitten Dies set with liquid adhesive. I finished the cookie by adding silver gems onto the snowflakes for a bit of shine.

For the cookie box, I took a piece of pink cardstock and ran it through the die cut machine with the Dotted Diamond Portrait Die for some texture. I cut out a window in the center with the second largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered a piece of clear acetate to the backside. I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and used the pink window panel as a guide to adhere the cookies to it. I adhered the penguins with some foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Once the cookies were where I wanted, I adhered the pink window panel with foam tape.

For the cookie box decorations, I created two small tags using one of the dies from the Sweet Treat Bag Dies. One die cut out of white cardstock and the other using a patterned paper from the Joyful Holiday Paper Pack. I stamped a sentiment using parts from the Penguin Party Stamps and Holiday Hugs Stamps with Versafine Satin Red ink. I tied a red ribbon onto the box and adhered the tags and some snowflakes die cut from white cardstock using the Basic Mini Shape Dies 2 and Woolen Mitten Dies sets with liquid adhesive. Finally, I adhered the cookie box to a white card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Crisp Apple Die Focused Card by Alma

Hello everyone, Alma here. Christmas is getting closer, and what could be better than enjoying a candied apple at a Christmas market? 

For my card, I die-cut the apple using the Crisp Apple Dies and colored it with Copics. Then, I created a background with the Slimline Pennant Dies and the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Die. To coat my apple with chocolate glaze, I die-cut it from the Slimline Nature Border Dies and colored it in chocolate brown. 

Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Hugs Stamps set and die-cut a snowflake from the Basic Mini Shape 5 Dies to use as a highlight. I especially love the Joyful Holiday Paper on this card.

Roly Poly Penguins Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a fun slimline Christmas card featuring the most adorable Roly Poly Penguin set. I just can't get enough of these cuties! I have big love for penguins and this set definitely stole my heart!

I stamped the images from the Roly Poly Penguin stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Roly Poly Penguins Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T1/3/5/7, W00/0/1, Y38 YR04, RV00
Pink: RV10/21/13/14
White: C00/1/3

For the layout, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock (3.5" x 8.25") and lightly inked blended the top and side edges of the panel with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks. I used one of the slope dies from the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to diecut a piece of white cardstock for my snowbank. I adhered the snowbank to the inked panel before adhering it to a white card base (3.75" x 8.5").

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiments from the Holiday Hugs Stamps set with Versafine Satin Red ink onto a piece of white cardstock before diecutting them out with the coordinating Holiday Hugs Dies. I used scissors to trim out the "sending" sentiment. 

I adhered the sentiment and some snowflakes diecut from white cardstock using the Basic Mini Shape Dies 2, Basic Mini Shape Dies 5 and Woolen Mitten Dies sets with liquid adhesive. Then I adhered the penguins with some foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. I finished the card by adding clear jewels onto the snowflakes for a bit of sparkle.

Merry Mocha Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a fun slimline Christmas card featuring the adorable Merry Mocha set. 

I stamped the mug from the Merry Mocha Stamps set four times onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Merry Mocha Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

I used the smallest die from the Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies to die cut 5 squares out of white cardstock. I adhered each of the mugs onto the squares. I stamped the cute sentiment from the set directly onto the fifth square with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. 

I adhered the squares to a piece of pink cardstock (4" x 8.5") with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. The panel was adhered to a white card base. I finished the card with some snowflakes die cut from white cardstock using the Basic Mini Shape Dies 2. I also added some coordinating jewels from the Bright Jewel Mix to the center of each of the snowflakes.

I stamped the images from the Let's Chill Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Let's Chill Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

For the layout, I diecut a piece of white cardstock using the larger die from the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies set. I adhered the entire panel onto the front of a top folding white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). 

The Forest Trees Stencils and some Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks were used to create the background on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I started by lightly ink blending the sky on the upper edge of the cardstock. I placed the first layer of the stencil and very lightly ink blended the Tumbled Glass with a blending brush. Next, I placed the second layer of the stencil and ink blended again with the Tumbled Glass but with a slightly heavier hand. Finally, I placed the third stencil and lightly ink blended with the Salty Ocean ink.

Once the ink was dry, I diecut the panel with the larger die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies set. I used the same die to diecut a white panel out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock. One of the slope dies from the Slimline Nature Borders Dies was used to diecut the white panel in half. I used the colored images to layout my scene and decide on the placement of one of the sentiments from the set. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the white half panel with the same Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I adhered the half panel onto the inked panel before adhering the entire panel to the scalloped edge panel and card base.

I adhered the colored images onto the card front with some foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. I finished the card with a few snowflakes diecut from white cardstock using the Basic Mini Shape Dies 2.
