Vintage Valentine Card with Tina H

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and with Valentine approaching I am making a love themed card! The special twist today is that I am using very cute products, namely the Vintage Valentine stamp and die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Vintage Valentine Cat Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Cat Antics)

These images remind me of my youth and the fun days as a kid growing up. We owned a phone and a typewriter just like these. In fact, I still have a typewriter in my home as vintage decor! But I digress, back to the card where I started with a white rectangle card base.

To match the cool tones of the devices, I used one of my favourite neutral paper pads (Subtle Grey Tones). I selected two patterns and cut them with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Chevron setI love how these panels bring interest to the project without distracting from the main scene. I layered them and added both pieces to the base with liquid glue.

I stamped all the images from the Vintage Valentine set and used a mainly grey, red and blue Copic color palette. The kittens from Cat Antics were the perfect critters to bring some playfulness to the scene. I tried to color each cat slightly different to give them their own personality.

Finally, I stamped one of the sentiments from the the Vintage Valentine stamp on the sheet of paper placed into the typewriter. To make it stand out a bit more I used a red ink from my stash. I finished the card by adding a few Champagne Clear Jewels to the panel.

It was so much fun using these vintage images in a project, I hope to see your cards with this sweet set very soon!! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Baked With Love Card with Tina H

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here and I confess, I love cookies! That is why I was excited to make a card with the sweet Baked With Love stamp and die set. Now this set offers plenty of options for the cutest designs. Since I also adore critters, I definitely wanted to bring in an image from the Foxy Friends set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baked With Love Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Arch Dies, Sydney Alphabet Dies, Foxy Friends)

After creating a white rectangle card base, I cut a panel from a pink paper (Polka-Dot Parade) with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes die. I have used these outer dies many times and I highly recommend having these staples in your stash. Next, I glued the panel to the base with liquid glue. For my scene, I cut a white Stitched Arch and dry embossed the piece with the Quilted Hearts folder. I also glued a strip of pink card stock near the bottom so I could add my scene later on.

I stamped all the cookies from the Baked With Love stamp and the rolling pin. As mentioned before, I also selected a cute fox (Foxy Friends set). I enjoyed coloring all these images in fun colors with my Copics and added some white sprinkles with my gel pen.

The hardest part of this project was figuring out the design, I had one fox and a whole lot of cookies! First, I decided that the fox would be sitting on the rolling pin. Next, I played around with stacking the cookies until I was happy with the lay-out.

This card needed a fun sentiment so I spelled out the word ‘Baked’ with the letters of the Sydney Alphabet. I love how well they match with the arched shape. To create that chipboard effect, I cut each letter three times and stacked them with liquid glue.

For the sub sentiment I found the perfect one in the Baking Spirits Bright set. Yes, that is a Christmas set, but I encourage you to keep using these stamps all year round where possible! I stamped the sentence on a white banner with Versafine Onyx Black ink and added foam tape to mount it to the card. A few Aquamarine Jewels were placed in the corners for some extra glam.

I can’t wait to see all the yummy projects you will make with this sweet set!! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Hello everyone! It's Rachel here with two cards that feature the new and adorable Quill Cuties Stamp Set

Sunny Studio Stamps: Quill Cuties Card by Rachel Alvarado (featuring Sydney Alphabet Dies, Stitched Hearts Dies, Comic Strip Everyday Dies)

For both cards, I stamped all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating Quill Cuties Dies to cut them out.

Copic Colors Used For Both Cards:

  • Reds: R14, R46, R59
  • Hedgehog's Face: E00, E11, E13, E04
  • Hedgehog's Body: E44, E47
  • Pinks: RV02, RV04, RV66

  • Blue-grays: BG70, BG72, BG75, B18

For my background, I die cut a white collage frame using the Comic Strip Everyday Dies and blended the inner frame pieces with some Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. Lastly, I die cut the word HUGS using the Sydney Alphabet Die Set and added some red hearts that I die cut using the Stitched Hearts 2 Dies.

My second card features the same stamps and alphabet dies as shown in my first card. I also added a scalloped rectangle using the outer die from the Frilly Frames Hexagon Die Set. I then die cut some snow drifts from white card stock using some dies from the Slimline Nature Borders Dies.

For my background, I lightly blended some Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks and spattered the blended area with diluted white paint to resemble snow. To finish my card, I added my main sentiment using the Sydney Alphabet Dies and the word warmest from the Holiday Hugs Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! I hope you enjoyed my cards today!

Snowman Kisses Card with Tina

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here with a Christmas card featuring one of the adorable cuties from the Snowman Kisses stamp and die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Snowman Kisses Winter Themed Christmas Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Scalloped Oval Mat Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Dotted Diamond Dies, Winter Greenery Dies)

After creating a white card base, I cut a slightly smaller white panel with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Chevron set and added texture to this piece using the Dotted Diamond Portrait die.

Next, I worked on creating an oval frame from white card stock, I used the largest of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 dies and a smaller oval from Stiched Ovals 2The middle part of the frame will be my focal point, but I needed to cut an extra oval to create the two snowbanks. I was going for that winter frosty look, so the sky portion of my panel was inked up with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Snowman Kisses Winter Themed Christmas Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Scalloped Oval Mat Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Dotted Diamond Dies, Winter Greenery Dies)

After selecting a cutie from the Snowman Kisses stamp, I colored him with my Copics, adding white details with a gel pen. Before assembling the scene, I needed to stamp the sentiment (Festive Greetings) directly to the focal panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

To assemble the card, I glued the rectangle and oval frame directly to the card base. Next, I inlayed the sky oval and mounted the snow border with foam tape, so I could tuck in the snowman. A trio of light blue snowflakes (Snowflake Circle Frame) were added in a triangle shape around the snowman. Each of them got embellished with a Champagne Clear JewelTo finish this card I added a few branches (Winter Greenery dies) and a bow (Sweater Vest) to the top of the oval.

I loved combining all these amazing products and I hope you got inspired by this sweet scene. Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Santa Claus Lane Card with Tina

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here with a sweet snowy scene in which I combined two amazing holiday sets.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Santa Claus Lane Winter Themed Christmas Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Reindeer Games, Frilly Frame Stripes Dies, Stitched Semi-Circle Dies, Circle Snowflake Dies)

From the Santa Claus Lane stamp and die set, I selected the cute Santa with his sleigh and presents. Next, I added an adorable cutie from the Reindeer Games stamp and die set. I love how well these sets work together to provide even more design ideas. After coloring all the images with my Copics, I put them aside to work on my backdrop.

Starting off with a teal card base, I then cut a panel with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes die from white card stock. For extra texture, I ran this panel through my die cutting  machine with the Cable Knit embossing folder. Folders are such a quick and easy solution to add that extra layer of dimension to your projects, and this one is just perfect for winter cards!

Another way to elevate your project is to include pattern paper. Here I am inlaying the Stitched Semi-Circle in a pale snowflake paper (Subtle Grey Tones). Now I only needed to cut a snowbank from white paper to complete the scene. After assembling all the background elements with liquid glue, I mounted the images with foam tape. Next step was to add loads of snow with a white paint pen!

The sentiment was selected from the Reindeer Games stamp set and stamped on a white banner with a red ink from my stash. A bunch of scattered larger snowflakes (Snowflake Circle Frame die) completed the scene. They each were embellished with a Champagne  Clear Jewel.

I loved combining these amazing sets and I hope you got inspired by this sweet design. Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!
