Bundle Of Joy Card with Tina H

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here and I am always excited when I can make a sweet baby card (Bundle Of Joy)! I like to have a few of them ready in my card stash which means that I have to keep the color scheme neutral. Most of the time, I go for green or teal, my favourite colors! This card turned out to be a delicate balance between multiple design elements!

I started by creating a white envelope with the Gift Card Envelope die. After assembling this piece with some liquid glue, I thought it would be fun to add a sky portion to the inside of the envelope. It would have been easier if I had done that first, but I managed to ink blend with a very small brush and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink.

While this piece was drying, I browsed through my stash to find a festive backdrop and went with the gorgeous Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace dies. For extra contrast, I glued this white piece to a green card base.

The main image of this card design is the cute stork from Bundle Of Joy. This set is just perfect for so many sweet baby cards! I kept the coloring simple and added some red pops of color with my Copics. My sentiment was taken from the same set and stamped on to a white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink. 

With all the elements ready, assembling this card was easy, I added the envelope, sentiment and stork to the pretty background and finished this project with a cluster of white heart die cuts (Stitched Heart dies) in the sky.

Quilted Hearts Landscape Die Focused Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you today and I have a sweet birthday card to share featuring the Foxy Friends set, Big Bold Greetings set, and Quilted Hearts Landscape Die. So, let's get started.

I stamped the adorable images from the Foxy Friends Stamps and the bouquet of balloons from the Party Pets Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Foxy Friends Dies and Party Pets Dies to die cut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps onto a piece of white cardstock with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and used the coordinating Big Bold Greetings Dies to die cut it out. Next, I die cut a banner using the Stitched Rectangle Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped the "to one Foxtastic friend" from the Foxy Friends Stamps onto the banner with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

For the layout, I used the beautiful Quilted Heart Landscape Die and the scallop die from the Frilly Frames Hexagon Dies out of white cardstock. I trimmed the Quilted Hearts panel down to fit inside of the scalloped panel. I adhered the two panels together before adhering them to a piece of pink cardstock. 

I adhered the colored images and sentiments onto the panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Finally, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Quilted Hearts Landscape Die Focused Card with Marieke

Hello all, Marieke here. I'm back again with my weekly post for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I hope to inspire you with a card that I made using the Quilted Hearts Landscape Die.

Cut a white top-fold base card and added a piece of black and white pattern paper on to it. Die cut the outer die of Frilly Frames Hexagon out of kraft cardstock. Die cut the Quilted Hearts Landscape die out of white cardstock and trimmed it down.

Cut a light blue rectangle in the same size and adhered them together. Die cut a green gras border and inked it up using Rustic Wilderness Distress ink. Adhered all the elements together and adhered the panel on the base card using foam tape.

Stamped the images out of Baked With Love, Special Day, Panda Party, Party Pets, Little Birdie and Woolly Friends. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them afterwards using the Baked With Love dies, Special Day dies, Party Pets dies and Woolly Friends dies or scissors.

Flame - R24, Y15, Y11

Heat set the sentiment on to a kraft piece of cardstock which I die cut to a banner using the Brilliant Banner 1 Die. Added some white gel pen details and some leaves. Adhered all the elements onto the card and stamped some dotted lines using the Sweet As Can Bee stamp.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Sweet As Can Bee Cards with Leanne West

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I'm very happy to be here to share a couple of bee theme cards I have made using the absolutely adorable Sweet As Can Bee stamp set and matching dies. I've also done a little creative fussy cutting to make a custom bee hive. I'll explain how to do this in detail below. 

This first card includes lots of images and a sentiment from the Sweet As Can Bee stamp set as well as my custom-made bee hive. 

Making your own card stock bee hive is very easy to do. Start with creating a template by folding a small sheet of copy paper in half. Next draw the bee hive shape on the folded paper like you see in the photo below. If you'd like to make the same size as mine, use the measurements in the photo. Next cut the shape out and unfold the paper. Now you have a template for a perfectly symmetrical hive which you can trace onto card stock and fussy cut out. I cut mine out of pale yellow card stock. I then added shading and splatters to give the hive some definition and interest. Lastly, I used a 3/4" paper punch to create the opening and backed it with a dark brown card stock. 

After my bee hive was complete, I stamped the sentiment and then adhered it with foam tape to a panel vellum cut slightly smaller than A2 size. I embellished this panel with lots of Copic colored flowers and bees. Once I had the placement of everything just right, I adhered my little bee hive scene onto a pink A2 size card front. The pink card front was splattered beforehand with gold and pink watercolor to give it a speckled look. 

For the second card, I have created another playful scene with the bees and flowers, only this time I used the Frilly Frames Hexagon Dies to create a background that perfectly pairs with the Sweet As Can Bee stamp set. 

The Hexagon Frame has been die cut from light yellow card stock and then backed with a creamy ivory card stock. I then layered this frame over top a bright pink panel slightly smaller than my A2 size card base. 

I wanted the sentiment to take center stage on the card with the bees and flowers surrounding it. I used a combination of word stamps from Sweet As Can Bee and the Sydney Alphabet Dies to create this fun sentiment. I then added the flowers and bees to create the carefree style composition.

Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Die Focused Card with Tina H

Hello crafters, it’s Tina with a fun birthday card featuring the beautiful Frilly Frames Quatrefoil dies. For this project I used both the inner and the outer die of the set when I cut my piece from white card stock.

I really wanted to showcase the beautiful pattern this die creates by adding a contrasting teal dotted background paper (Polka-Dot Parade). To preserve as much as I could from this panel, I opted for one larger focal point by incorporating my favourite critter Big Bunny! I also love that the dies allow for the bunny’s arms to open wide to hold a birthday present (Party Pets). I kept the Copic coloring neutral so the images would stand out against the pretty background. 

Since our bunny is going to a celebration, he also needed a party hat, cut from the same teal paper as before with dies from the Treat Bag Topper set. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Party Pets comes with its matching die and I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

To make this card extra festive I added two white borders on the bottom of the design (Ribbon & Lace Borders), before mounting the bunny with foam tape. I used thin foam strips to adhere the sentiment to the card. Lastly, I sprinkled a few Iridescent Jewels as a blingy touch.
