Guest Designer Spotlight: Roly Poly Penguins Cards with Sara Zoppi

Hi crafty friends, Sara here! Today I am so happy to be here, guesting again for Sunny Studio Stamps! And today I have three cards featuring the most adorable penguin stamp set ever, the recent released Roly Poly PenguinsSo, let's dive into the first one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Roly Poly Penguins Holiday Cards by Sara Zoppi (featuring Inside Greetings: Seasons)

As soon as I saw the stamp set I knew I would have created a sort of pattern with lots and lots of penguins. The dimensions of the images are perfect because they aren't too much small so it didn't take a lot to mask and cover an A2 piece of cardstock.

I firstly created all the masking pieces by stamping the 6 Roly Poly Penguins on some Judikins Masking Paper (it is my favorite to create masks, and the roll really lasts a lot). Then I took a piece of A2 cardstock and I started randomly stamping the penguins from the lower edge to the upper one. I then started coloring: it didn't take soo long because I firstly colored all the penguins, then all the accessories with the same markers, which are listed below.

• Penguins: 100-N9-N8-N7-N5-N4 | E50 | YR15
• Blue combo: B06 - B04 - B02 - B01 - B00
• Red combo: R39 – R29 – R27 – R24
• Pink combo: R24 - R22 – R21 – R20 – R00
• Light brown combo: E43 – E42 – E42

When I was happy with the result, I trimmed the panel to 3 5/8"x 4 7/8" and I layered a 3.75"x5" glittery silver cardstock behind. For the sentiment, I white heat embossed one of the Inside Greetings Season stamp on some red cardstock and I created a strip. To complete the card, I attached the penguin panel on an A2 piece of white cardstock using foam tape and then I adhered the sentiment strip. And here's the finished result!

For my second inspiration, I went for a clean and simple look on kraft cardstock, that I especially love when I create winter cards.

I firstly stamped the 4
Roly Poly Penguins in the lover part of an A2 piece of kraft (this one is Neenah Desert Storm Smooth), I recicled the masking pieces created for the first card. I used a light brown ink, since I wanted a no-line look. Then I colored the penguins using the Copics listed below.

• Penguins: T10 – T8 – T7 – T6 – T5
• Beak: Y38
• Red combo: R89 – R59 – R46 – R35

When I use the no-line technique, I always combine Polychromos Pencils too, because I need to better define the edges and reinforce some shadows. I took some coordinated greys and red to do that. I also took a white pencil to add white onto the body of the penguins and some of the accessories.

I then decided to add a big sentiment on the upper part: I used the big "Greetings" word which comes from the previously released Season's Greetings stamp set, while the word "sending" is from Festive Greetings stamp. I white heat embossed everything and then I also stamped some snowflakes (which come form the Deck the Halls stamp) here and there to add some interests. I trimmed the panel to 3 5/8" to 5.5" and I layered a slightly larger rosegold glitter cardstock behind. To complete the card, I attached everything to an A2 white panel. And here's the second finished result!

For my last inspiration, I have to say I found a beautiful layout like this on Pinterest, which was my main inspiration. So I decided to turn it into a card.

I took a 4 3/8" square panel and I drew 4 circles of 1,5". I created a mask for the "holes" and I carefully stamped the four
Roly Poly Penguins with some accessories, like the gift or the Christmas hats. I used a really light ink because i wanted a total no-line look, and as I said before I firslty colored with the Copics listed below and then defined the edges with pencils.

• Penguins: 100 – W10 – W9 – W8 – W7 – W6
• Red combo: R59 – R46 – R29 – R43
• Pink combo: R21 – R20 – R00
• Backgrounds: G21 – B93 – RV95 – Y32

I then die cut the Merry Word from some silver glitter cardstock and I layered two white die cuts behind to create depth. To complete the sentiment, I also white heat embossed two black strips using the words included in the Lazy Christmas stamp. To complete the card, I layered a 4,5"x4,5" silver glitter cardstock and a 5"x5" white panel too. And here's the finished result!

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like my projects and you will be inspired to create something! Hugs from Italy!

Toasty Hugs Card with Tina

Hello crafters, Tina here and today I made a fun Christmas card with lots of layers featuring the adorable cuties from the Toasty Hugs stamp and die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Toasty Hugs Holiday Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Dotted Diamond Dies, Window Trio Dies, Merry Word Die, Snowflake Circle Frame Dies)

Opting for a vertical design this project starts with a white card base, next I cut a blue panel from a snowflake paper (Frilly Frames Stripes Die, Holiday Cheer papers). I added more subtle interest to this piece by running it through the machine with the Dotted Diamond Portrait die.

The following layer is made from white card stock using the Window Trio Square dies. I cut this window from a large piece of paper and used my trimmer to cut a small border around it so I could add thin foam strips to attach it to the blue panel.

I kept the square white pieces from the die cut and used them to create little snowbanks for my mini scenes and sentiment. The ‘Christmas’ word (Reindeer Games) was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. After cutting the large Merry Word 3 times from a red paper in my stash I glued them all together giving the die cut stability and dimension. I used tiny slivers of foam tape to adhere the word to the windows shape.

For the mini scenes I used the two cuties from the Toasty Hugs stamp, strings of twinkly lights and packages (Holiday Express) and lastly the igloo from Winter ScenesI selected pink, red and vibrant blue Copic markers for my coloring, adding snowflakes with a white gel pen.

After putting the little snowbanks in place, I added all the other elements for the scenes with foam tape. For extra interest I mounted even more snowflakes to the background by using one of my favorite dies (Snowflake Circle Frame). This die is a must have for all your winter and holiday cards, as it cuts a bunch of snowflakes in one pass. Love that! I then glued some Red Zircon Jewels to the centers of the snowflakes.

I had a great time creating this adorable card and I hope you got inspired by the design! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Forest Tree Stencil Focused Cards with Ashley and Mayra

Hello friends! It's Ashley with an unconventional Christmas card to share with you today. I used the Forest Trees stencil to create a rainbow of color! Who says rainbows can't be for Christmas?

Sunny Studio Stamps: Forest Tree Stenciled Holiday Card by Ashley Ebben (featuring Stitched Rectangle Dies, Inside Greetings)

I started with a piece of white Bristol smooth cardstock. I used the Forest Trees stencil and Distress Oxide inks to make a rainbow of trees for my background. I started at the bottom and used Villianous Potion, Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry, and Kitsch Flamingo. I'm pretty happy with this combination, but I'm still looking for my go-to rainbow combo. Do you have a series you always use?

I splattered the trees with a bit of watered down white acrylic paint and dried the spots with my heat gun. I trimmed down the piece with the largest Stitched Rectangle die and backed it with a thin border of white glitter cardstock. I added this to a light gray card base for a small amount of contrast. I finished with a sentiment from Inside Greetings - Holiday. I stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed with white. The sentiment stands out more in person, but I think a metallic embossing powder would look great too and add more contrast.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

--------------------------------------------

Happy Monday everyone, Mayra here. I am sharing this set of cards with you today that I made using the awesome Forest Trees Stencil. This is truly a fantastic stencil set. I had a blast creating these cards.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Forest Tree Stenciled Holiday Card by Mayra Duran-Hernandez (featuring Stitched Rectangle Dies, Chloe Alphabet Dies)

I began by die-cutting the base layers for each card using both dies from the Stitched Rectangles die set from white cardstock. I then began by layering each of the numbered stencils and adding color to the card base. I began with the lightest color which was Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink, next, I used Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink, and for the third layer, I used Noble Fir Lawn Fawn ink mixed with a bit of Ground Espresso Distress Ink. I then added white splatters over the entire card using white acrylic paint mixed with a bit of water.

I then die-cut the letters for the word Christmas, and Holidays using the Chloe Alphabet die set. I then die-cut the word Merry from gold cardstock as well. The banner is from the Stitched Rectangles set.

Next, I created the mini shaker for the smaller card using a framed rectangle die from Lawn Fawn. I also made the bigger card into a shaker card. The happy word for the smaller card is from the Christmas Critters stamp set. I then decorated the kraft-colored envelopes using the Forest Trees Stencil again and the same colors as I used for the card.

I hope you enjoy the set I created to share with you today. Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by. I hope you each have a wonderful and blessed day and Merry Christmas.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Tags & Cards with Anni Lerche

Hey stampers, Anni Lerche here! I am so happy and proud to be a guest designer for Sunny Studio! I got to play with the two new sets Lazy Christmas and Bear Hugs – so so cute. I had so much fun.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Bear Hugs Slimline Dies Thank You Word Dies Tags by Anni Lerche

I made three tags using the set Bear Hugs because I couldn’t decide for an image. They are all so adorable. And I love to make tags. They make every gift more special and – if needed – you can quickly turn them into a card.

I started by stamping the bears with a waterproof ink and coloured them with Distress Reinkers. To darken up the shadows I used some coloured pencils. This is my favourite way of colouring.

For the backgrounds I added ink blending with Distress Oxides. The grounds I created by die cutting the Slimline Nature Borders from cardstock.

For the starry background I also sprinkled water and watered down white gesso on the cardstock. The sentiment is the Thank You Word die.

For this autumn tag I stamped a few leaves I could find in my stash and cut them out. I coloured them loosely with the Distress reinkers and added them randomly to the birch trees.

And I also created this Christmas card with the super cute sloth set. I chose some untraditional colours for the card. The images I coloured the same way as the bears. For the sentiment I used an older die called Merry Word. I love to stack up word die cuts for more dimension.

On the bottom I used the gifts from the sets. I turned them in different directions. This way it seems as if I am using a few stamps.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a crafty day.
