Hawaiian Hibiscus Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a card that has me dreaming of a tropical vacation featuring the gorgeous Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Summery Greenery Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Radiant Plumeria)

I started this A2 card by using a fun technique with die-cuts to create an embossed look for the background panel. While I have a bunch of embossing folders and use them all the time in crafting, I love to use this tone-on-tone technique with dies to create unique patterns. I first cut a piece of kraft cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and die-cut 10 fronds from kraft cardstock using the Summer Greenery Dies. I adhered these along the outside edges of the cardstock and then die-cut the cardstock piece with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I love the subtle tropical embossed look this gave it! I matted it on black cardstock and adhered it to a peach card front.

For my tropical scene, I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" and cut masks from post-it notes for the sand and horizon. I also punched a circle from Eclipse masking tape for the sun. The Distress inks I used are Brushed Corduroy for the sand, Dried Marigold and Speckled Egg for the ocean/sky and Scattered Straw for the sun. I stamped small palm trees in dark green ink using stamps from the Beach Babies Stamps and the Surfing Santa Stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Tiki Time Stamps with black embossing powder.

Next, I die-cut a piece of black cardstock using the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die as a mat for the tropical scene and adhered the combined piece to the card front. I also die-cut a photo corner from brown cardstock using the Notebook Photo Corners Dies to give it a photo or postcard look.

To finish, I stamped the hibiscus and leaves from the Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I also heat embossed a flower from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with white embossing powder, water colored a bit of the center with yellow ink and die-cut it using the coordinating dies.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Radiant Plumeria Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with a CAS mixed media card featuring the Radiant Plumeria stamp and coordinating dies. I love these layering stamps as it gives GORGEOUS results immediately.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Radiant Plumeria Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies)

First, I die-cut a panel using the Stitched Rectangle dies. Sponge with salvaged patina distress ink. Flick the same ink for a soft splatter look. Die-cut the herringbone part from the frilly Frilly Frame Herringbone dies. Use this die-cut as a stencil and apply crackle embossing paste to the panel through it. Let it dry.

Stamp the images from the Radiant Plumeria stamp using various inks by altenew, die-cut using the coordinating dies. Stamp the sentiment to the panel. Adhere the panel to a white cardbase. Adhere the images to the card.

Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day!

Radiant Plumeria Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here featuring the gorgeous ‘Radiant Plumeria’ flowers! I really enjoyed creating with this layered stamp and die set!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Radiant Plumeria Summer Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Scalloped Oval Mat Dies)

As always with stamp layering, I used the backing sheet the stamps come on to help me with my placement. I find this ‘trick’ so incredibly useful! This time I selected some Memento inks from my stash, these dye inks are great for layering. They dry instantly, so no risk of smudging when you are placing the next layering stamp! I stamped and cut three flowers and several of the leaves.

Whenever I can, I love to add some adorable critters to my cards! The cuties from Fabulous Flamingos were a perfect match for the bright flowers and tropical theme for this weeks project. I colored them with some flashy pink copic markers.

Also included in the Radiant Plumeria set is a nice bold ‘Summer’ stamp and I knew I wanted to use this as my main sentiment. Because this stamp is a bit rounded, I opted for an oval shaped card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Radiant Plumeria Summer Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Scalloped Oval Mat Dies)

The largest die of the Scalloped Oval mat 1 was cut from some white Neenah card stock. Today I opted for a bright yellow background spritzed with Distress Oxide spray Squeezed Lemonade. I really should use my sprays more, they create beautiful backgrounds in no time! Next, I splattered some white droplets for extra dimension.

It was easy to create an oval card base with one of the Infinity dies from my stash that was slightly smaller than my oval card panel. After adhering my card panel to the base, I stamped (in Versafine Onyx black ink) a little word banner using the ‘greetings’ sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria set.

Then it was time to create a layout with all my card elements. I started with the two sentiments and placed the flamingos underneath in the center of the card. Next, I layered the leaves and flowers on both sides, using foam tape for dimension where needed. A few from the Magic Gold Jewels were placed in the centers of the flowers.

I am sure you will love these beautiful flowers as much as I do! Can’t wait to see all your creations! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Hawaiian Hibiscus Card with Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Catherine here! Today, I am sharing an Aloha card perfect for the summer season created with Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps and Radiant Plumeria Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Summer Themed Shaker Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Scalloped Oval Mat Dies, Summer Greenery, Tiki Time)

For the back panel, I die cut A2 white cardstock with the largest rectangle from Stitched Rectangle Dies. Next, I die cut the Frilly Frames Stripes Dies out of white cardstock. I adhered the stripes die onto the stitched back panel.

I die cut the hibiscus and leaves using Hawaiian Hibiscus Dies and Radiant Plumera Dies. I placed the negative back into my Misti and began stamping the Hibiscus and leaves with the following inks:

Pinks: Altenew Rose Quartz, Frosty Pink, Pink Diamond, Coral Berry
Yellows: Citrus Burst, Lemon Ice
Greens: Just Green, Green Fields, Sweet Leaf

I added some palm leaves using Summer Greenery Dies ink blended with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide. I stamped the Macaw bird from Tiki Time Stamps, die cut with Tiki Time Dies, and colored with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. For the back of the  shaker, I die cut an oval, 3 7/8” x 2 ¾” from Stitched Oval 2 Dies, added some Party Confetti and Crystal Clear Jewels and put it aside.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Summer Themed Shaker Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Scalloped Oval Mat Dies, Summer Greenery, Tiki Time)

To make the frame,  I die cut a scalloped oval 3 3/16” x 4 5/16” from Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Dies. I nested the 3 7/8” x 2 ¾” die inside the scalloped oval and ran it through my die cut machine. Using the same die, I die cut one more oval out of acetate. I adhered the frame on top of the acetate oval. I added foam tape around the edges and adhered it onto the back of the shaker.

I adhered the shaker onto the back panel followed by the flowers, leaves, and the parrot. I finished off the card by adding “ALOHA” die cut from Chloe Alphabet Dies ink blended with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.

Thank you so much for joining me today!  For a list of Copic Markers used, please visit me at Crafti-Cat. Have a wonderful week!

Slice of Summer Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a fresh summer card featuring the Slice of Summer Stamps. Summer is my favorite season and I just love making tropical cards!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Slice Of Summer Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Radiant Plumeria, Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies)

This is an A2 size card and I’ve combined some beautiful tropical products on this one. I started by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock using the largest Stitched Rectangle Die and inked it with Kitsch Flamingo Distress ink. I then embossed it using the Moroccan Circles Embossing Folder. I matted it on black cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest Fancy Frames Oval Die. For the ocean background on this piece, I placed a post-it note across the oval 1 1/2" from the bottom and inked the bottom of the oval with Antique Linen Distress ink. I left the post-it note in place and die-cut a piece of eclipse masking tape using the sand portion of the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die. I placed this across the very bottom of the oval and inked the ocean with Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I inked lighter in some areas to allow a little of the Antique Linen ink to show through as a reflection of the sky on the water. I removed the masks and placed the post-it note over the ocean/sand. I then inked the sky with Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass Distress inks. I heat embossed the HELLO sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with black embossing powder 2” from the top of the oval and 1” from the left edge.

I die-cut the largest Fancy Frames Oval Die from black cardstock and adhered the frame to the ocean background on the card front. I die-cut the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die from black cardstock and adhered the largest palm tree and a seagull.

To finish, I stamped the limes from the Slice of Summer Stamps using Simon Says Stamp Celery, Limelicious and Pearfection inks and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I stamped the plumeria from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps using various pink and yellow inks from my stash and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. Finally, I heat embossed the “Summer” sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps on black cardstock with white embossing powder and fussy cut around the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Swimming Pool Die Focused Cards with Audrey and Vanessa

Hello friends! Audrey here with a fun summer card to share with you!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Summer Themed Card by Audrey Tokach (featuring Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies, Kiddie Pool)

To create this card, I started off by stenciling some clouds to a piece of A2 sized white cardstock with Salvaged Patina Distress ink. For the grass in my scene, I used a piece of floral patterned paper from the Sweater Weather 6x6 paper pad. For some added texture and dimension, I tore the top edge of the paper and inked the edges with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress ink.

I die cut the pieces of the Swimming Pool die from both grey and aqua cardstock and inked the edges with coordinating ink colors. I also used the Tropical Trees Backdrop dies to add some palm trees which I cut from white cardstock and inked with Distress ink. I adhered one down on each side of the pool, leaving room for a sentiment from the Beach Buddies stamp set.

Two adorable kids from the Kiddie Pool stamp set are taking a dip, and there are a trio of birds flying overhead, cut using the Tropical Trees Backdrop dies. To finish off this card, I added some white gel pen accents and mounted the panel to an A2 card base.

-----------------------------------------

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a fun summer card using the Swimming Pool Die. This is my own version of Dogtown Boys :)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Summer Themed Card by Vanessa Menhorn (featuring Critters on the Go, Radiant Plumeria)

I first trimmed a panel of white cardstock to fit the card base. Now I inked the top part with Squeezed Lemonade, Festive Berries and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks and the bottom part with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink. After I had stamped the palm trees and the sentiment, I adhered the panel to the card base.

These sets were used today:
Swimming Pool Die
Critters on the Go stamps dies
Radiant Plumeria stamps
Surfing Santa stamps

I die-cut the pool from white cardstock, colored it with Copics and adhered the pieces to the card. Then I stamped my images, colored them with Copics, die-cut the pieces with the matching dies and adhered the elements to the card with foam-tape.

Wishing you a happy summer day! Thanks for visiting!
