Tropical Birds Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share a tropical rainforest scene card featuring the adorable toucans from the Tropical Birds Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Summer Themed Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Fancy Frame Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Radiant Plumeria, Frilly Frame Dies, Summer Greenery Dies)

This was such a fun card to make! First, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the frame portion of the Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies and inked it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink on the right and left sides. I then inked towards the center of the panel with Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress ink and adhered it to an A2 card front.

For the waterfall background, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest Stitched Oval Die and inked the bottom 3/4" of the oval with Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina and a slight amount of Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I very lightly inked the right and left sides of the oval above the water with Simon Says Stamp Celery ink. I then colored the waterfall in the center of the oval (about a 1 1/4" wide section) using long streaks of Copic markers (BG49, BG34, BG23, BG13, BG11, BG10) leaving some white showing between the streaks. For the spray where the waterfall meets the pool below, I repeatedly dabbed a white paint pen. To complete the scene, I stamped 2 rocks from the Ocean View Stamps in a light gray ink for no-line coloring. I colored them with Copics (E44, E43, E42, E41, N1, N0), fussy cut them out and adhered them on each side of the waterfall.

Next, I die-cut a piece of black cardstock using the largest Fancy Frames Oval Dies, adhered the waterfall scene centered on the frame and adhered the combined piece to the card front.

To finish, I die-cut leaves from black cardstock using the Summer Greenery Dies and adhered them to both sides of the oval. I stamped monstera leaves from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I stamped the images from the Tropical Birds Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Big Panda Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share a fun tropical card featuring the Big Panda Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Panda Summer Themed Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies, Radiant Plumeria, Hawaiian Hibiscus)

I started this A2 card with the ocean background. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and masked the bottom 2” of the cardstock. I used a cloud stencil from my stash and inked it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I then masked the sky and the bottom 1” of the panel. I inked the ocean with Simon Says Stamp Seafoam ink. I finished by masking all but the bottom 1” and inked the sand with Antique Linen Distress ink. I then adhered the panel to the card front.

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die and adhered the frame to the background panel. I inked the sand portion of the die-cut with Antique Linen Distress ink and set it aside until I was ready to adhere the panda.

I stamped the panda, beach hat and drink from the Big Panda Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I then adhered the panda to the card front and adhered the sand die-cut over top.

To finish, I stamped leaves and flowers using the Radiant Plumeria Stamps/Dies and the Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps/Dies and adhered them around the frame. I stamped the sentiment from the Tiki Time Stamps, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and fussy cut it out.

Designer's Choice: Radiant Plumeria Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here today with a CAS floral card. This is designer's choice week for me, so I decided to use some of my all time favorite things :)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Radiant Plumeria Summer Themed Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Stitched Arch Dies)

I started by stamping some pretty plumeria flowers from the Radiant Plumeria layering stamp set. It is so easy to line-up the layers and the result is beautiful. I used some yellows and pinks for the flowers and greens and teal for the leaves. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Next, stamp the sentiment from the Beach Bus stamp set, die-cut using the coordinating dies.

Die-cut a window onto white card panel using the Stitched Arch dies. Die-cut once again using glitter cardstock. Sponge pink ink to the two sides, where we want to have the cluster. Adhere this piece to a white cardbase using 3d foam. Add the glitter die-cut and adhere to the cardbase using adhesive. Add the floral cluster and the sentiment.

Hope you like the fun glittery CAS card. Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day!

Square Die Focused Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina with a tropical shaker card using the Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies and the Stitched Square Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Stitched Square & Scalloped Square Die Focused Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Radiant Plumeria, Tropical Birds)

By combining these two sets, I created a border from a flower pattern paper (Flirty Flowers). I made sure to keep the border wide enough so I could easily add foam tape later. Next, I folded a white square card base, slightly larger than my frame. After gluing some acetate to the border (using strong doubled sided tape) I added some strips of foam tape.

Since I selected a colorful cloud paper from my stash for the background, I opted for simple silver and transparent sequins. After closing the shaker portion with the cloud panel, I adhered this piece to the card base with liquid glue.

For this tropical card, I stamped the layering flowers and leaves from the Radiant Plumeria set  and a cutie from Tropical Birds. I colored him with my Copics in vibrant matching colors.

My sentiment banner with the ‘Best Wishes’ (Heartfelt Wishes) doubles as a ‘resting branch’ for the sweet parrot. I arranged the flowers and leaves in clusters and placed them in two opposite corners of the card. Finally, I added a few Gold Jewels for that extra bling!

Thank you for being here and happy crafting!

Designer's Choice: Tropical Birds Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’ve got a tropical summer card for you with the adorable cockatoos from the Tropical Birds Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Birds Summer Themed Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Tree Branch Dies, Radiant Plumeria, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Hawaiian Hibiscus, Limitless Labels Dies)

I began this A2 card by creating a patterned background panel to match my color scheme. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle Die and then stamped/heat embossed the monstera leaf from the Tropical Birds Stamps all along the outside edges using Speckled Egg Distress embossing glaze. I then inked over the embossed leaves with Speckled Egg Distress ink and adhered the panel to the center of the card front.

Next, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest Limitless Labels I Die and lightly inked the center of the die-cut with yellow ink focusing on the top and bottom areas. I stamped the “smiles” sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps in the bottom right with a peach ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then adhered the label die-cut centered on the background panel.

For a tropical backdrop, I stamped two hibiscus flowers from the Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps and five monstera leaves from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps using peach, orange and blue-green inks from my stash. I die-cut them using the coordinating dies and adhered the smaller hibiscus at the top first followed by the five leaves. Before adhering the large hibiscus, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the Tree Branch Die, inked it with Frayed Burlap Distress ink, adhered it over the leaves and then added the hibiscus.

To finish, I stamped the cockatoos, monstera leaves and hibiscus from the Tropical Birds Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I heat embossed the “Summer” sentiment from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with white embossing powder on white cardstock and inked over it with yellow and peach inks. I then fussy cut around the sentiment. For a shadow effect and to make the sentiment stand out a bit more, I inked white cardstock with Lost Shadow Distress ink, adhered the sentiment overlapping it and fussy cut along the bottom edge. I then adhered the sentiment using foam dimensional tape.

Hawaiian Hibiscus Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a card that has me dreaming of a tropical vacation featuring the gorgeous Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Summery Greenery Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Radiant Plumeria)

I started this A2 card by using a fun technique with die-cuts to create an embossed look for the background panel. While I have a bunch of embossing folders and use them all the time in crafting, I love to use this tone-on-tone technique with dies to create unique patterns. I first cut a piece of kraft cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and die-cut 10 fronds from kraft cardstock using the Summer Greenery Dies. I adhered these along the outside edges of the cardstock and then die-cut the cardstock piece with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I love the subtle tropical embossed look this gave it! I matted it on black cardstock and adhered it to a peach card front.

For my tropical scene, I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" and cut masks from post-it notes for the sand and horizon. I also punched a circle from Eclipse masking tape for the sun. The Distress inks I used are Brushed Corduroy for the sand, Dried Marigold and Speckled Egg for the ocean/sky and Scattered Straw for the sun. I stamped small palm trees in dark green ink using stamps from the Beach Babies Stamps and the Surfing Santa Stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Tiki Time Stamps with black embossing powder.

Next, I die-cut a piece of black cardstock using the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die as a mat for the tropical scene and adhered the combined piece to the card front. I also die-cut a photo corner from brown cardstock using the Notebook Photo Corners Dies to give it a photo or postcard look.

To finish, I stamped the hibiscus and leaves from the Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I also heat embossed a flower from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with white embossing powder, water colored a bit of the center with yellow ink and die-cut it using the coordinating dies.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.
