Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Cards with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I'm sharing a fun way to use the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on dies. I have made two cards that feature a shelf all decked out for the holidays. I'm always trying to come up ways to stretch my supplies and thought some of the dies in Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on set would make cute little decor pieces for a wall shelf.

For both cards I used the Build-a-Birdhouse dies with the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on dies to create my decorated shelf scenes. This first card is A2 size and features a shorter shelf with one birdhouse. The stamped sentiment on this card is from the Inside Greetings Seasons set

In the Build-a-Birdhouse set there's dies to create the houses, little birds, and a pole. The pole die is what I used to make the shelf. You can connect two poles together to make a longer shelf which is what I did for the mini slimline card. I was able to fit three birdhouses on this longer shelf.

To dress up the shelves for Christmas, I used dies in the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on set to create the snow cover on the shelves, the garland plus tiny bows, and the trees.

The large greeting on the mini slimline card is from the Season's Greeting stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the word "greetings" and fussy cut the word "season's".

I hope my cards inspire you to find ways to stretch your supplies and use them in an unexpected or new way. Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back here next week to share some Christmas tags.

Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Tags with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back on the blog with this trio of shaker tags showcasing multiple die sets, including the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On that I used on its own to create three mini scenes in jars.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Die Focused Holiday Tags by Marine Simon (featuring Comic Strip Everyday Dies, Stitched Arch Dies, Brilliant Banner Dies, Ribbon & Lace Border Dies)

I started off by cutting all the pieces to build the backgrounds, and each background was built following the same steps:

1. Cut a Stitched Arch panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, and divide it in half. On the lower part, blend some tumbled glass and broken china oxide inks using a hill stencil to create a snow border. And on the upper part, blend some broken china, uncharted mariner and chipped sapphire oxide inks to create a night sky.

2. Mix some tumbled glass oxide ink with water, and add splatters to the snow border using a slim brush. Splatter water droplets on the sky, and dry them using a paper towel. Mix some chipped sapphire oxide ink with water, and add splatters to the sky. Mix some copic opaque white ink with water, and add more splatters all over the Stitched Arch panel, and then do the same with liquid stardust. Cut a small hole at the top of this panel.

3. Cut another Stitched Arch panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, cut the bottom using a wavy die, and add the same inks and same textures as before to create a slim snow border.

4. Cut another Stitched Arch panel out of a Holiday Cheer snowflake pattern paper, and use a Ribbon & Lace Border die to cut the top of the panel. Add some uncharted mariner and chipped sapphire oxide inks on the edges, and add splatters of copic opaque white ink. Cut a small hole at the top of this panel.

I set all those elements aside to dry, and then cut all the bits and pieces out of colored cardstock. I used distress inks to add shadows and more depth to each element, and also splattered white ink to give the illusion of snow or frost on all the pieces. Here is a detailed list of the die sets I used: • Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On - trees, strings of lights, bows, piles of snow • Window Quad Circle - poinsettias • Rustic Winter - deer • Comic Strip Everyday - car, house.

I assembled a few of the pieces to build the car, house, poinsettias, etc. and then created the jars using Summer Jar Mug dies. And once again, each jar was built following the same steps:

1. Cut a jar frame out of holographic cardstock and cut the handle off.

2. Cut a whole jar out of acetate, and stick it at the back of the jar frame using liquid glue.

3. Still at the back of the frame, add foam strips all around the jar, following the curved edges.

4. Cut another whole jar out of vellum, and attach trees and a main focal object (house, car or deer) using liquid glue.

5. Sprinkle a few White Snowflake confetti on the die-cut pieces.

6. Peel the backing papers off the foam strips at the back of the jar frame, and attach the jar frame to the vellum frame to close the jar.

7. Cut another jar out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, trim the lid off and add some vintage photo distress ink on the edges to darken it, add copic opaque white ink splatters, and stick the lid to the holographic shaker jar.

8. Glue a pile of snow on one side of the jar using liquid glue.

9. Tie some golden thread around the lid.

Next I cut three different banners out of dark blue cardstock using Brilliant Banner 1Brilliant Banner 2 and Brilliant Banner 3, and silver heat embossed a greeting on each banner. "Sweet" is from Christmas Cookie, "Have a... holiday season" is from Santa Claus Lane, and the whole thing reads "Have a sweet holiday season". To make those banners pop on the tag, I used the same dies to cut the banners a second time out of holographic cardstock, and I layered each banner with its twin using 1mm foam squares.

Next I finally assembled and attached everything on my Stitched Arch panels. I first glued the jar using liquid glue, and then the slim snowy hill using 2mm foam squares. I attached the straight string of lights at the back of the topper element using liquid glue, and then stuck the topper piece using 1mm foam squares. Attached a banner between the jar and string of lights, added a poinsettia and a Christmas tree, cut one last Stitched Arch panel out of white cardstock, cut a hole at the top of this panel, attached it at the back of the tag to finish it nicely, and cut a white eyelet using a Mini Mat & Tag 4 die that I glued at the top of the tag.

For the last details, I glued a white pearl in the middle of each poinsettia, a tiny confetti star at the top of each Christmas tree, applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the lights, tied a double bow that I attached below each eyelet, and finally added a handle using some slim silver ribbon from my stash.

And that's it! I went a little bit crazy to build those shaker tags, and they took me longer than the standard type of card I usually make, but sometimes I like to throw myself into more complicated projects! If you ever wanted to recreate those tags, my advice would be to die cut all the pieces first, then do all the inking, next the jar, and finally all the assembly. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today to share this fun Christmas card featuring the Distinctive Door Dies and the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Dies. I had so much fun playing with these Distinctive Door and Holiday Add-on Dies and creating a house for these penguins that I was completely tempted to go out and start putting up the Christmas decorations on my own house.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Holiday Card with Hanh Nguyen (featuring Distinctive Door Dies, Penguin Party)

I stamped the penguins from the Penguin Party Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Penguin Party Dies to die cut them out. I also used the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Dies to die cut two trees and a wreath out of the same Neenah cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers and accented them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T3/5/7, Y38 YR04, W0, R000/30
Hats: R24/29
Scarf: YG03/17
Trees/Wreath: YG03/25/17

I die cut the remaining door and the accessories from the Distinctive Door Dies and Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Dies from a piece of white, yellow, green and red cardstock. I also used silver cardstock for the door hardware and white glitter cardstock to represent the snow. I lightly colored the windows and lights with Copic markers (Y000/21) for a bit of dimension and realism.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Holiday Card with Hanh Nguyen (featuring Distinctive Door Dies, Penguin Party)

For the background, I took a piece of gray cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and added a slim strip of white glitter cardstock to the bottom edge for the snowy ground. I assembled the elements of the door and adhered them to the panel with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam tape. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to all of the elements. Finally, I attached the panel to a white top folding card base (4.25" x 5.5").

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card and are inspired to create your own front door card (or decorate your house for the holidays!). Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina with an elegant Christmas card featuring the beautiful Distinctive Door Holiday Add-ons combined with the Distinctive Door dies! Together they create the most festive scenes!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Die Focused Holiday Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Dies, Buffalo Plaid Dies, Frilly Frame Dies)

To a white card base, I added an additional white panel embossed using the Buffalo Plaid Straight die and cut with the outer die from the Frilly Frames Stripes set.

Next, I started to cut all the elements I needed for my scene (Distinctive Door Holiday Add-ons, Distinctive Door dies). This time I opted for Copic markers to color these pieces. I love how the shades of ‘white’ create an elegant look, with the door and greenery as pops of color. For the snow, bow, lanterns, and sentiment base I used a glitter paper which gives instant holiday vibes.

The sentiment comes from the Victorian Christmas set, and I stamped it in a matching pink ink from my stash.

Then it was time to assemble the card, I found it easiest to work from the bottom to the top, starting by gluing the stairs in place and building the door scene from there. I love how the sentiment fits perfectly between the two pillars.

There are many great colors in the Pastel Jewels pack, they were perfect to decorate the garland and Christmas trees. As always on my holiday cards, I used a white gel pen to add a ton of snow to the die cuts.

Thank you for being here and I hope you got inspired by the combination of these two fun die sets! Happy crafting!

Distinctive Door Holiday Add-on Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello! This is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog where I'm sharing this new classic style Christmas card, showcasing our Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Dies. Please read on for all the festive details!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Die Focused Christmas Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Distinctive Door Dies, Holiday Greetings)

I took two panels of white cardstock (A2) and I die cut one of the panels using the Distinctive Door Die. I shaded the white parts using Copic markers in C3, C1 and C0 and some BG10 on the glass above the door and then I glued the elements in place on the other white panel. I die cut a black front door and this was glued within the white frame.

Next, I used the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Die and die cut all the interesting little features that make the scene pop! I used gold cardstock for the brass features and black, green, blue and green cardstock for the wreath, bows and lighted trees in pots.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Die Focused Christmas Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Distinctive Door Dies, Holiday Greetings)

All elements were glued in place. I used a green Copic marker and a white gel pen to dot in some interest to the trees and wreath and then highlighted points with the white gel pen. The trees and wreath were applied to the scene with dimensional foam tape.

For the bold sentiment I chose the words 'season's greetings' from the Holiday Greetings stamp set and I stamped it on white cardstock using 'Cherry Kisses' ink by The Stamp Market.  I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating Holiday Greetings Die, backed it with dimensional foam tape and applied it above the door.

I hope you enjoy decorating your own Distinctive Door for various seasons and occasions. Thanks for stopping by to read the blog today and I'll be back next Friday with something brand new to share. Have a wonderful weekend!

Distinctive Door Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hello this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog and I've a CAS style elegant card to share with you, showcasing our Distinctive Door Dies. Please read on for all the details.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Die Focused Autumn Themed Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Dies)

I took an A2 panel of white cardstock and to this I glued all the different parts created when using the Distinctive Door Dies. Before glueing them in place I used Copic markers in C3, C1, C0, C00 to shade the white paintwork of the columns etc.

For the door, I was inspired by my own mint coloured front door. I die cut it from a pale blue/green cardstock and I used the same Copic markers to do a little shading of the panels then I glued in place.

Next, I converted some dies from the Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On dies simply by colouring the topiaries, wreath and garland in vivid Autumnal hues. To achieve these colours I used The Stamp Market's inks  in Dion, Mango and Rusty and I dotted in some interest with black, green markers and a little white gel pen.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Distinctive Door Die Focused Autumn Themed Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Distinctive Door Holiday Add-On Dies)

The garland, wreath and topiaries were applied with foam tape to pop them up and out from the background and I finished the card by using the sentiments from Autumn Garland. I used the 'Rusty' Ink mentioned above to stamp the word 'Autumn'. Sentiments were applied with foam tape and then I used Copic markers to add the appearance of fallen leaves on the steps.

I backed the decorative panel with white craft foam and applied it to a slightly larger white card base and with that this card was done.

Thank you for stopping by to read the blog today and I'll be back next Friday with something new.
