Let's Chill & Penguin Pals Winter Holiday Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some holiday cards featuring our new Let's Chill Stamps and Penguin Pals Stamps.

My first card showcases the adorable seals from the Let's Chill Stamps. This mini set has so many possibilities! I created a winter birthday card here by using the heart balloon, ice block, and punny sentiment from the Penguin Pals Stamps with the tree and igloo from the Winter Scenes Stamps. To frame my little scene, I used the largest die from the Scalloped Square 2 Small Dies set, then masked all four sides to add a light dusting of Salty Ocean Distress ink using the big fluffy blending brushes by PinkFresh Studio. While you can achieve a darker application, these brushes are convenient for achieving a light application of ink to take advantage of the full range of tones each distress ink pad can offer. Lastly, I mounted the scalloped mat onto an aqua polka-dot print from the Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper pack.

For my second card, I focused on the adorable penguins from the Penguin Pals Stamps. I created a scene with them decorating a Christmas Tree taken from the Cozy Christmas Stamps and added the backdrop of mountains and fir trees behind them using the Country Scenes Stamps. This time I used the PinkFresh Studio Blending Brushes to achieve a light application of Seedless Preserves Distress Ink for my sky. I heat-embossed a greeting from the Penguin Pals set onto a Brilliant Banner 2 Die, which has been inked up using a blend of Salvage Patina, Evergreen Bough, and a tiny bit of Peacock Feathers Distress inks.

Penguin Pals & Let's Chill Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, back with this new shaker card featuring the super cute Penguin Pals and adorable seals from Let's Chill. Love how those lovely winter critters match so perfectly.

I started off by creating the shaker panel. I cut the frame out of a blue polka dot paper from the Polka Dot Parade paper pack using the main Comic Strip Everyday die, attached it to an acetate panel using liquid glue, and added foam strips at the back of the frame all along the four edges and behind the middle lines as well. Next I poured White Snowflake confetti and chunky glitter inside each window, splattered white ink on a light blue gingham 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel from the Gingham Pastels paper pack, and once dry, I attached this light blue panel to the foam strips to totally close my shaker panel.

I cut another Comic Strip Everyday panel out of white cardstock, kept the inside pieces and cut slim pieces out of them to make snow borders. I mixed a bit of liquid stardust with water, added sparkling splatters to each snow border and then attached them all to my shaker panel using liquid glue. And finally I stuck my panel to a white card base using liquid glue as well.

Next I stamped the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, cut them all using the matching dies and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Let's Chill - seals • Penguin Pals - penguins • Snowmen In Sweaters - trees, snowflakes.

When the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, white blizzard nuvo drops to the snow on the trees, I stamped "Sending you winter hugs" from Bear Hugs directly on the acetate using black stazon ink, which is an ink that doesn't smear on acetate or vellum, and finally attached all the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

Let's Chill Card with Amanda

Hey, crafty friends, and welcome back to the Sunny Studio Stamps blog! It’s Amanda here with you today sharing a cute little shaker card. I’ve been in a shaker-card mood lately, and I couldn’t resist making a fun, playful design featuring some of my favorite Sunny Studio holiday stamps!

I started by creating my shaker portion of the card. To do this, I grabbed my All is Bright patterned paper and found the snowy teal paper. I trimmed this paper down to 4.25” x 5.5”. Using the largest of the Stitched Arch Dies, I ran it through my die cutting machine, centering the arch in the center of the panel.

Once I had my 2 pieces, I glued the background arch to an A2 card base and set it aside. I created my snowy hilly background with the Scenic Route Stamps. While I had all my stamp supplies out, I also stamped my 2 cuties from the Let’s Chill Stamps.  

I created my sentiment using the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamps. This set has hundreds of combinations to make holiday sentiments and I LOVE it! I stamped the red words with Catherine Pooler’s Rouge ink first. Then, I stamped the rest with black ink.

I colored the images in with Copic markers. Here are the marker colors I used:
Trees: YG17 YG23
Snow: BG10, BG11, BG13
Seals: W0, W2, W3, W5, R20

Once all the images were colored, I cut them out with their coordinating dies. To make the hilly scene look like it’s in the background, I glued it behind my arched frame. I also put my sentiment strip behind the frame and glued it in place.

Now, to create the shaker part! I placed some Snow White Jewels on my card base in the center of the arch. On my front panel (the frame), I used double sided tape to adhere my piece of acetate. Then, I added foam strips around the entire front panel and then adhered it to my card base. The final step was to add my cute seals with some 3D foam squares to make them pop! 

I had so much fun making this shaker card, and I hope it brings a smile to your face today! If you haven’t tried making a shaker in a while, consider this your little crafty nudge!

Let's Chill Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun winter themed card featuring these adorable seals from the Let's Chill set from the latest release. I love the sweet faces on these cuties.

I stamped the seals and hearts from the Let's Chill Stamps and the trees and igloo from the Winter Scenes Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Let's Chill Dies and Winter Scenes Dies to diecut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers.

Seals: W00/0/1/3, R20
Igloo: RV000/10/21
Trees: YG03/17
Hearts: RV21/13/14

For the layout, I used the Dotted Diamond Landscape Die to diecut a piece of pink cardstock (4" x 5.25"). The panel was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").

Next, I used the Scalloped Tag Square Dies to diecut a tag out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. I masked off the scalloped edges and lightly ink blended the top portion of the tag with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks. For the sentiment, I stamped the "let's chill" sentiment from the set directly onto the tag with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The colored images were adhered to the tag with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam tape. A piece of craft foam was adhered to the back of the tag before it was adhered to the pink panel. I finished the card with a pink ribbon bow and some white snowflakes diecut with the die from the Woolen Mitten Dies.
