Guest Designer Spotlight: Woolly Friends Cards with June Helsen

Hello crafty friends! It's June here, and I was lucky enough to be invited to be a guest designer for the latest release, yay! Today I'll be sharing 2 cards I made using my favorite products from the new release, along with some other fun older Sunny Studio products. Let's get started!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Woolly Friends Cards by June Helsen (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies, Fancy Frame Oval Dies, Cable Knit Embossing Folder)

My first card features a little scene I made using the new Woolly Friends stamps. These were so much fun to color. I loved adding a bit of texture to the sheep's wool and coloring the fence to look like wood!

I cut the largest of the Fancy Frames Oval dies and used both pieces to frame my scene. I backed my frames using a piece of cardstock on which I did some soft ink blending. I used Salvaged Patina and Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide and went in with a very light hand so the backdrop wouldn't be too distracting. I also added some ink splatters with Peacock Feathers and Rustic Wilderness.

My favorite small detail of the Woolly Friends stamps is the scripty 'ewe' that's included in the dies. I just knew I had to use it, so I picked a sentiment I could use it with. For my background, I decided to play into the sheep theme even more and use the Cable Knit embossing folder along with the Loopy Rectangle Frame. I cut both from different shades of blue cardstock and did some ink blending on the background after embossing. I also added some white ink splatters on top for some more detail.

I love how this one turned out, so for my second card, I wanted to use the same stamp set and loopy frames, but in a totally different way. This time, I combined it with the Clucky Chickens stamp set to create a farm-themed card. I kept my colors very neutral and warm-toned, so it gives it a bit of a vintage look.

I kept my background very plain and simple this time. Just some light-handed ink blending using Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Oxide, and some ink splatters using Vintage Photo. I cut my frame from brown cardstock, matching the images I colored and my splatters. I used a different sentiment this time, but also used the scripty 'ewe' of course!

And those are my 2 cards as a guest designer! I had such a fun time making these cards and playing around with some of the new products. I wish you all a very creative weekend.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Quill Cuties Cards with Aiysha Chander

Hello everyone! I'm Aiysha, so excited to be guest designing for Sunny Studio Stamps today, featuring two cards created with the Quill Cuties stamp set. This set is full of charm and personality, making it perfect for cheerful greetings and just-because cards. I created two designs with very different moods to show how easily these sweet hedgehogs adapt to any style.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Quill Cuties Card by Aiysha Chander (featuring Icing Rectangle Frame Dies)

For the first card, I created a soft, Valentine-inspired look. The Quill Cuties were stamped with memento black ink and colored in browns with Copic markers. I then layered the images on an ink-blended background to match the pink Valentine theme.

Two Quill Cuties take center stage, colored in cozy browns and soft pinks with a small pop of aqua for contrast. The sentiment was heat embossed in white, and the images were cut using coordinating Quill Cuties dies.

A scalloped frame from the Icing Rectangle Frames set gently anchors the design, while a few scattered hearts and a light splatter of white and gold add a whimsical finish.

The second card leans into a cozy, rustic feel. I used the Sunny Studio Woodgrain Embossing Folder on a kraft cardstock to create a warm textured base. Stamped several Quill Cuties on kraft cardstock to complement the kraft tones. They were then colored in earthy tones and arranged in a cheerful cluster to create a little scene.

To finish, I added the white heat embossed the sentiment on a contrasting brown strip with a red accent, and framed the design using a scalloped frame from the Icing Rectangle Frame set, finally scatter hearts to bring everything together.

For my third card, the adorable cutie soaking in a bathtub was too hard to resist, and it felt perfect for a fun bubble-bath–themed shaker card.

I stamped and colored these Cuties with Copic-friendly ink and created a soft pastel ink-blended background and built it up by die-cutting multiple layers using Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies to add depth. The shaker is filled with clear and blue sequins, chosen to mimic bubbly bath foam floating around the scene.

The sentiment "Quill you be mine?" adds a sweet finishing touch, making this card ideal for a love-themed occasion. Cute, playful, and full of movement—this little shaker card was such a joy to create.

Thank you so much for having me today! I hope these cards inspire you to create and send a few hedge hugs of your own.

Reindeer Games Card with Amanda

Hello there and welcome to the Sunny Studio blog! Amanda here! I’m so glad you’re here with me today as I share this SUPER JOLLY card with you! I am pumped about making holiday cards!  I know we have a lot of time left, but it’ll be here before you know it! Have you started making yours yet?? Either way, I hope this card inspires you to make one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Reindeer Games Winter Themed Christmas Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Fancy Frame Rectangle Dies, Scenic Route)

To make this card, I started by cutting the largest frame from the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies. This die actually cuts 2 separate pieces, which is great for creating dimension! I glued the outer frame directly to an A2 card base. I set the other frame aside to use later.

Next, I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to 5”x3.75”. On this panel, I stamped the hilly scene from the Scenic Route Stamps. With the leftover ink that was on the stamp, I stamped the image again on a piece of low tack masking tape. I trimmed the masking tape so that I could mask off the hills and trees.

Then, I used Catherine Pooler’s Hot Tub and Skylight inks and a blending brush to blend out the sky. Once that was finished, I spritzed it with water and set it aside. On another piece of white cardstock, I stamped my deer, gifts, and ornaments from the Reindeer Games Stamps. Once stamped, I colored the images with Copic markers.

Here are the colors I used:
Deer: E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R00, R22,R46,  E41, E43, W5, 27
Gifts: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, R422, R46, BG93, BG96, BG99

I removed the mask from the background panel and colored in the trees and snow.
Trees: BG93, BG96, BG99
Snow: BG70, BG72

After I was finished coloring, I cut the deer, ornaments, and gifts out using the coordinating
Reindeer Games Dies. On the background panel, I stamped my sentiment in black ink.

I glued my background panel to my card base. I, then, applied foam tape behind my inner frame and attached it o the card base as well. I adhered 3D foam squares behind the images and added them to my card. Using some white acrylic paint, I added “snow” and dots on the deers.

I love the dimension the
Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies
make! I hope you enjoyed learning how I created this card and I hope it inspires you to make something crafty today!

Too Cute To Spook Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and I love making fun Halloween cards! Of course they have to include cute critters and the Too Cute To Spook stamp and Die set has you covered. It is everything you need to make heaps of adorable spooky cards!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Too Cute To Spook Halloween Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Fancy Frame Dies, Autumn Tree Dies)

After creating a simple white card base, I cut a green background panel (Preppy Prints) with the outer die from the Frilly Frames Chevron setFor my focal point I used the middle die from Fancy Frames Circles and since I wanted to make this frame pop, so I cut it from white card stock. I inked up the middle part with vibrant Twisted Citron Distress Oxide and a blending brush. For more dimension I added some water splatters with a fine paint brush.

The beautiful Autumn Tree die, cut from black paper, was the perfect dramatic backdrop for my spooky scene. From the Too Cute To Spook stamp, I selected two cuties, a bat and a pumpkin (the other pumpkin is from Fall Kiddos). I colored everything in fun Halloween colors with my Copics.

Then it was time to put the card together and create the scene, I glued the background in place and mounted the images with foam tape. Lastly, I stamped a matching sentiment (Bewitching) on a small white banner with a purple ink from my stash and added it below the circle. I scattered a few Orange Topaz Jewels across the tree, I really love these for Fall and Halloween projects!

I hope you have fun creating your adorable spooky projects! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Baby Elephants Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some ice cream-themed cards for Summer using our Baby Elephant Stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps Baby & Encouragement Card Set Featuring Baby Elephants Clear Craft Stamps

For my first card today I have a stars and moon baby-themed card using the Baby Elephant Stamps. I started by die-cutting a stitched scalloped frame using our Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies and then layered it with a Stitched Rectangle Die cut from a deep blue patterned paper from our Gingham Jewel Tones Paper pack. For my greeting, I used white embossing powder to emboss the sentiment "I Love You to the Moon and Back" from our Lovey Dovey Stamps. I then arranged my sleeping elephant cradled in the moon with the polka-dot clouds and star balloons stamped with the optional happy faces.

For my second card featuring the Baby Elephant Stamps today, I have an encouragement card pairing the elephants with the umbrella from the set. I stamped six of them, colored in solid pastel colors, before adding small white polka-dots with a white gel pen. For my card base, I die-cut the largest 4.5" Stitched Square Die and then matted it with a 5" lavender polka-dot print from our Spring Fever Paper pack. I stamped the greeting "You are my sunshine on a cloudy day" from our Sunny Sentiments Stamps in the top, center and then scattered the umbrellas around it like they had been picked up in a gust of wind. I also sprinkled 5 pale pink hearts cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers to fill in some empty spaces from our Basic Mini Shape 2 Dies.

That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today.💛
