Puppy Parents Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it is Tina and today I am creating a sweet card for my husband, who is an incredible Dad and also a dog lover. Our two dogs Mira and Lena bring so much love and joy in our lives. When I saw the Puppy Parents stamp and die set, I knew it would be perfect for this project!

Of course, I selected the two fluffiest doggies of this adorable bunch since they look just like ours. To set the scene, I also stamped the sweet doghouse, a few balls, the food bowl, and some bones.

After creating a simple white card base, I die cut all the layers for this card. Starting with the white frame (largest of the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies), I backed this frame with a sheet of pink striped paper (Dots & Stripes Pastels) and finally I cut a white arched panel (Stitched Arch dies).

This last piece will become the base for my scene. First, I stamped a cobblestone border (Sprawling Surfaces). Next, I masked off this part of the panel with some Post-It tape and added a pink cloudy sky with a stencil from my stash and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.

I pulled out my Copic Markers and colored all the images as well as the stone border. But when I did a try-out of the scene and put the dogs in place, it felt a bit busy. A piece of vellum is a good option to soften a busy background. Die cutting with the Stitched Arch again gave me the perfect vellum layer. I used a tape runner for vellum to attach this layer to the background and felt much happier with the design!

The arched shape of the Brilliant Banner 4 die was a perfect match for the scene, my Misti worked great to curve the combined sentiment from the Puppy Parents stamp (the red ink was pulled from my stash).  As a final embellishment, I added a few Pink Spinel Jewels.

I hope you will enjoy these fun Puppy Parents stamps as much as I did! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Balloon Rides Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and I had so much fun making this sweet ‘Good Luck’ card with the adorable critters from the Balloon Rides Stamp and die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Rides Good Luck Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Chloe Alphabet Dies, Stitched Circle Dies, Fancy Frame Dies)

After creating a white card base, I added some texture to the corners with a dotted stencil from my stash and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide and put that aside to work on a layered circle piece.

I needed to figure out the size of the inner circle, so I started by cutting all the letters for the ‘Good Luck’ sentiment with the Chloe Alphabet dies. Using some soft pastels in pink and teal from the Flirty Flowers papers as my top layer and cutting additional letters from white card stock to create that ‘chipboard’ look by stacking them all together. Combining dies from the Stitched Circles Small an Stitched Circles Large sets worked great for the look I was going for.

I also love a scalloped border, which was obtained by using the outer die from the Fancy Frames Circles. This piece comes apart and I was able to sandwich one of the white circles between the two layers. For my smallest white circle, I repeated the pink dots with the stencil to mirror my card base.

I glued the stacked circles to my card base and added the letters in a playful way, which adds to the fun character of the card. Last but definitely not least, I stamp and colored (Copic Markers) the cute critters (Balloon Rides Stamp) and scattered them around the words. To finish this sweet project, I glued a ring of Aquamarine Jewels on top of the pink scalloped border.

I love mixing and matching sets and I hope you got inspired by this idea! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Beauiful Bluebells Floral Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some floral cards showcasing our Beautiful Bluebells Stamps.

Sunny Studio Spring Floral Card Set using Beautiful Bluebells, Watering Can, & Garden Fairy Clear Craft Stamps & Cutting Dies

For my first card showcasing the Beautiful Bluebells Stamps, I cut an oval window in my white cardstock panel using the Stitched Oval 2 Dies and then layered it with the scalloped oval frame from our Fancy Frames Oval Dies. I then arranged the bluebell flowers around the window's opening and backed it with a green polka-dot print that I had stamped using our Background Basics 2 Stamps. For my greeting, I stamped the sentiment from our Lovey Dovey Stamps using the same Altenew Hydrangea Ink I had used for one of the flower layers. The coordinating dies to this set cut the letter "I" in the phrase as a separate piece, but in this situation, I felt the greeting fit the space I had better without it, so I left it off. Lastly, I embellished my card with two fairies from our Garden Fairy Stamps, coloring them to match my green and purple color palette.

Next up is a monochromatic blue and white card featuring the Beautiful Bluebells Stamps. I was doing my best to harness the English feel of Laura Ashley, and I'm so happy with the way this turned out! I created a bouquet of the flowers using the Watering Can Stamps, tying a jute bow to position near the handle and adding one of the butterflies from that set. For my background, I stamped a blue diagonal mesh print onto white cardstock using our Background Basics 2 Stamps and then used that same VersaFine Arctic Ink to blend in the background for a tone-on-tone look. I layered a stitched scalloped rectangle cut using our Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies to frame my floral arrangement and then added some extra loose flowers to the bottom two corners. To complete my card, I heat-embossed the "thinking of you" greeting from the Watering Can Stamps onto the Brilliant Banner 2 Dies, which had been cut from a green polka-dot print from our Spring Fever Paper pack.

I am frequently asked which ink colors I used for my layered images.  While I think there are so many great options out there, these are the colors I used today for my stamped images from light to dark:

Royal Blue Bluebells
Hero Arts Dusty Blue
Hero Arts Cornflower
Gina K. Powder Blue
Hero Arts Indigo

Blue Violet Bluebells
Altenew Wisteria
Hero Arts Passion Flower
Altenew Hydrangea
Altenew Ultraviolet

Stems & Leaves
Pinkfresh Studio Key Lime
Pinkfresh Studio Olive

That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today. 😊

Pink Peonies Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and today’s card layout is very versatile, it can be used for so many occasions. But since I am always in need of birthday cards, that is what I made!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Pink Peonies Birthday Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Scalloped Square Dies, Buffalo Plaid Embossing Folder, Fancy Frame Dies)

When I started my card making journey, I was a bit afraid of ‘flower arrangements’ and how to style them. I found that using the flowers as a center point with any kind of frame is always a winning combination. The beautiful Pink Peonies stamp and die set is great for these type of cards because it contains several shapes and sizes of peonies, making it easier for us to compose stunning bouquets.

After creating a square card base, I cut a panel with the biggest of the Scalloped Square 1 Large dies from white card stock. To add texture, I embossed it with the Buffalo Plaid Embossing folder and splattered the piece with Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Oxides.

While that was drying, I worked on my ‘frame’ element of the card. The Fancy Frames Circle dies are a perfect match for this square card. I cut them from a sheet of lilac Gingham Pastels and glued them directly to the card panel with liquid glue.

Next, it was time to create the flower centerpiece. I decided to stamp all the flowers and the leaves in this set and colored them in green, pink, and lilac shades with my Copics. Adding shadows with a darker maker and highlights with a white gel pen.

My sentiment was chosen from the Party Pets set and I love that it comes with a matching die! I stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ with Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut two extra layers to make it very sturdy. After placing this sentiment on the top right of the circle, I could start to arrange my peonies and leaves. I opted for the three largest flowers, and they fill the circle perfectly. Finally, I sprinkled a few Silver Jewels to finish this card.

I can’t wait to see your creations with this beautiful flower stamp! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!
