Passionate Penguins Valentine's Day Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I am so excited to share a sweet Valentine's Day card featuring these adorable images from the Passionate Penguins set. 

I stamped the images from the Passionate Penguins Stamp on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Passionate Penguins Dies to die cut them out. I also used the Stitched Heart 2 Dies to die cut 3 hearts out of the same Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and die cut three windows into it using circle the second, third and fourth smallest dies from the Stitched Circle Large Dies. I used the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to die cut a piece of clear acetate to make my own cloud stencil. Next, with the windowed panel as a guide, I used my homemade cloud stencil, the Forest Trees Stencils and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink to ink blend subtle backgrounds onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in the location of those windows. 

For the sentiment, I die cut a banner using one of the banner dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies out of red cardstock. I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the Foxy Friends Stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto the red banner and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. 

I adhered the two panels to each other using foam tape. I adhered the sentiment banner and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Penguin Party Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a fun Christmas boxcard featuring these adorable Penguin Party, Cozy Christmas and the Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp sets. These cuties are sending Holiday Greetings from their penguin home to yours.

I stamped the images from the Penguin Party Stamp and Cozy Christmas Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Penguin Party Dies and Cozy Christmas Dies to diecut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

For the boxcard, I trimmed two pieces of light blue cardstock: 1.25" x 11" and 3.75" x 4.25". I also trimmed a few pieces of white cardstock: 1" x 3.5", 3.5" x 4" and two pieces of 1.25" x 4.75". 

For the boxcard base, I used a score board to score the long light blue strip at the 0.5", 2", 5.75" and 7.25". I folded on the score lines, added liquid glue to the 0.5" end tab and secured it to the other end of the strip to create the boxcard base. 

I adhered the larger white and light blue panels to each other and then to the back of the boxcard base. Next, I created the shelves by using the score board again to score the two longer white strips at the 0.5" on each of the long ends. I folded on the score lines and added the shelves to the boxcard with a strong double-sided tape. 

For the sentiments, I die cut two banners out of red cardstock using one of the banner dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamp set from the latest release was used to create the "Happy Holidays" and "From our home to yours" sentiments. I stamped the sentiments with Versamark Watermark ink onto the red banners and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I decorated the boxcard with the colored images and sentiment banners as shown in the pictures.

Snowman Kisses Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a winter-themed box card featuring these absolutely adorable snowmen from the Snowman Kisses set. Do you like boxcards? Have you ever made a boxcard? I absolutely LOVE boxcards! Today, I'm going to show you how to make one without any special boxcard dies. So, let's get started.

I stamped the snowmen from the Snowman Kisses Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Snowman Kisses Dies to die cut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

To create the boxcard, I used the largest die from the Stitched Arch Dies to die cut the back panel out of light blue cardstock. I used the second largest arch die from the same die set to die cut a piece of pattern paper from the All is Bright Paper pack. I adhered the two arches together.

For the base of the boxcard, I used a paper trimmer to create a 1.25" x 9.5" strip out of the same light blue cardstock. I used a score board to score the light blue strip at the 0.5", 2", 5" and 6.5" marks. I folded on the score lines and used liquid glue to close and secure the box with the 0.5" end tab. I adhered the arch back panel to the base of the boxcard.

For the shelves of the boxcard, I took two strips of white cardstock (4" x 2") and used the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to die cut the top edge of the slopes. I used a score board to score at the 0.5" marks on each side of the shelves to create end tabs. Scissors were used to trim away the top portion of the end tabs, leaving only the bottom 1" to adhere to the sides of the box. I adhered the shelves to the boxcard.

For the sentiment, the banner die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies was used to die cut a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the super sweet "warm wishes & snowman kisses" sentiment from the Snowman Kisses Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the banner. I adhered the banner to the front of the boxcard. 

I decorated the boxcard with the snowmen as well as some snowflakes die cut out of white cardstock using the dies from the Woolen Mitten Dies and Basic Mini Shapes Dies 2 sets. HINT: For the floating appearance, I like to use little clear acetate strips to secure objects like the snowflakes to the boxcard.

My boxcard measures 3" W x 4.25" H and flattens to 4.5" W x 4.25" H. The flattened boxcard fits nicely in a standard A2 sized envelope (for 4.25" x 5.5" cards) for mailing.

Merry Sentiments Christmas Light String Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some cute and colorful holiday cards using one of my oldest favorite 3x4 sets, our Merry Sentiments Stamps.

For my first card of the day using the Merry Sentiments Stamps, I started by die-cutting the curved light string SVG file on my Silhouette (which I've shared below as a free download). I then adhered it to a strip of rainbow-striped paper from our Rainbow Bright Paper pack and used my scissors to trim close around the bottom of the string. I marked in pencil lightly where each of my seven lightbulbs would go and then I moved them out of the way to lightly ink around them using Distress ink and PinkFresh Studio Blending Brushes. I then slipped each bulb under the string, covering my pencil markings. Lastly, I stamped the words "friends make the season" using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and added the Merry Word Die cut from red cardstock.

Next, I created a circular, radiating design with 14 spokes of lightbulbs in a repeating rainbow using the Merry Sentiments Stamps to match the diagonally striped Rainbow Bright Paper in the background. I trimmed down the white cardstock panel by using our Stitched Rectangle Dies. I then stamped the stacked sentiment "merry & bright" from the set using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and Gina K. Dark Carnation Ink for the ampersand symbol. This card came together rather quickly using the free printable (provided below).

For my last card of the day, I used a different light string die-cut on my Silhouette Machine using the SVG download below with the lightbulbs from the Merry Sentiments Stamps. I laid out where I roughly wanted my bulbs to land, lifting them one at a time to pencil in a faint oval below them where I would ink with Distress ink to give the look of glowing lights. I stamped the "May your Christmas be merry & bright" from the same stamp set and added a thin strip of Rainbow Bright Paper with a stitched edge using the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies.

Here's the fun pile of rainbow bulbs I stamped to have on hand for the cards I shared here today (plus for so many more cards in the future). This is a super-easy stamp image to line up in my Misti tool and stamp assembly line style, so I could stamp and die-cut all of these in a single evening session.

I am frequently asked which ink colors I used for my layered images, so I have shared what I used today for these examples (from lightest to darkest).

Too Cute To Spook Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a clean and simple Halloween card featuring the adorable Too Cute to Spook set. This set was so appropriately named ... these critters are just way too cute to spook! I kept the card design super clean and simple to give all of the attention to these adorable trick or treaters.

I stamped the images from the Too Cute to Spook Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Too Cute to Spook Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took another piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock and stamped the house and tree images from the stamp set with Shaded Lilac DIstress Oxide ink to create a subtle scene. The Happy Halloween sentiment from the set was stamped onto the bottom of the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. 

I used the largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies to die cut the panel. I adhered it to a piece of purple cardstock (4" x 5.25") before adhering it to a piece of black cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). The panel was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5"). Finally, the colored images were adhered with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest.
