Sweet As Can Bee Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I am excited to share a sweet birthday card showcasing the super cute new Sweet As Can Bee set from the latest Summer Release.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Brilliant Banner Dies, Little Birdie, Comic Strip Everyday Dies)

I stamped the images from the Sweet As Can Bee Stamps and a branch from the Little Birdie Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Sweet As Can Bee Dies and the Little Birdies Dies to die cut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Bees: Y11/13/15/19, T1/3/5/7, R20, B000
Beehive: Y11/13/08 YR21/24, W5
Branch: E21/23/25/27
Leaves: YG01/03/25

For the background, I used Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend a sky background onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used the Comic Strip Everyday Dies to die cut a frame out of white cardstock. I used a pair of scissors to snip off the dividers and leave just a border frame. Foam tape was used to adhere this white frame onto the inked panel. I added some dots with a white gel pen for a bit of interest.

For the sentiment, I used the Brilliant Banner 1 Dies and Brilliant Banner 3 Dies to die cut the banners out of black cardstock. I stamped the “Just Buzzin’ by to Say” and the custom created “Happy Bee Day” sentiments from the Sweet And Can Bee Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto the banner die cuts and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder.

The colored images were adhered to the panel with liquid glue and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. I added a few flowers die cut from the Gift Card Envelope Dies. Finally, the panel was adhered to a white A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”).

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Sara Zoppi

Hi crafty friends, Sara here, guesting for the newest Sunny Studio Design collection! Today I have two inspiration cards to show you, and I really hope you will like them. So, let's dive into the first card!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee & Holiday Hugs Card with Sara Zoppi

As soon as I saw the newest Sweet as Can Bee Stamp set, I knew I would have paired it with one of my favourite ever Sunny Stamp, the Holiday Hugs Stamp - the big bear is just the perfect match to these adorable small bees. The only "problem" is that it is a winter version of the bear, but let's see how we can easily solve it.

I firstly stamped all the images from the new set with Memento Black ink on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then I took a stamping tool and I carefully inked the big bear, paying attention not to ink the scarf. Aster stamping his head, arms and body, I filled the empty spaces with some Copic friendly fine liner. Then I used the Copics listed below to color the images. I also added the red check details on the honey Jar using a red pencil  and then I die cut everything out.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee & Holiday Hugs Card with Sara Zoppi

- Bear: W10 – W9 – W8 – W7 – W6 – E55 – E53
- Bees: YR23 – YR35 – YR31 – Y11 – W9 – W7 – W6 – R20
- Honey Jar: E97 – YR23 – YR35 – YR31 – Y11 – E71 – E70 – E41 – R89 – R46 – R14 – R20

I then moved into the background. I used the hexagon stamp included in the newest set to create a pattern background, using three different yellow ink which perfectly match to my color palette. I didn't fill all the background, but I tried to leave empty spaces (especially where I planned to have the sentiment of the card). The background hexagon panel measures 3.75"x5".

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee & Holiday Hugs Card with Sara Zoppi

For the sentiment, I die cut the word BEE from the Chloe Alphabet Dies using a gold sparkly cardstock and a black one of the shaded effect behind, the HAPPY script from the Blooming Frame Die and I white heat embossed the small phrased on some yellow ochre cardstock.

I arranged all the images and words on the background panel and I glued them down (or attached using foam tape to get dimension. To complete the card, I matted the scene with a slightly larger brown sparkly cardstock and then with an A2 white panel. And here's the finished result!

Sunny Studio Stamps: The Graduate & Penguin Pair Card with Sara Zoppi

For my second inspiration, I went for a simple one-layer coloring on some colored cardstock. When I have simpler scenes in my mind, I usually love using colored cardstock as my panel, so that I have a colored cardstock. Here I went for a peachy/apricot color.

I love big sentiments and The Graduate Stamps has also a variety of hats and paper rolls to transform almost all the critters of the previous collections into some graduate critters!

So, I firstly chose to feature the adorable penguin from Penguin Pair Stamps and I carefully stamped him and his hat and laurea tube. I had to do a small masking with Judikins Masking paper. I then hand drew a pile of three books under him and just a few leaves and flowers.
I colored everything with the Copics listed below.

Sunny Studio Stamps: The Graduate & Penguin Pair Card with Sara Zoppi

- Penguin: W10 – W8 – W7 – W6 – E42 – E40 – E97 – YR23
- Hat: N10 – N8 – N7 – N5
- Red combo: R89 – R46 – RV25
- Flower centre: YR23 (for the white petals I used Copic Opaque white)
- Leaves: YG95 (for the stems I used a coordinate Polychromos pencil)
- Books: R22 – R21 – E97  (for the shades, I used coordinated Polychromos pencils)

I then added the sentiment, which comes from the newest The Graduate Stamp and I carefully masked the "grad" word since I wanted only a big Congrats. I added a few shadows with a darker pencil too.

When I was happy with the result, I trimmed the panel colored to 5,5"x3,75", I matted it with a green sparkly cardstock and then with an A2 white panel too. To complete the card, I added some yellow sparkly gems on the flower centres and some glow shaded confetti here and there. And here's the finished result!

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like my projects and you will be inspired to create something! See you next time!

Sweet As Can Bee Card with Tina M

Hello there! Tina M here sharing a card created with the Sweet As Can Bee Stamps!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweet As Can Bee Card by Tina Magnusson (featuring Love Birds, Hayley Alphabet Dies)

I have a mini slim line card for you today! The size of the card base is 3,50 x 6 inches. I added a piece of orange polka dot paper from the
Polka-Dot Parade Paper pack to cover the card base, using double sided tape.

Next, on a piece of white card stock I ink blended orange and pink ink. I then trimmed a piece of black cardstock for a frame to go behind my ink blended panel and adhered them both to the card base, using double sided tape. Now on to the stamping of the images!

I stamped the bees, the beehive, the little bucket and the heart shaped swirl from the Sweet As Can Bee Stamps set and the branch, leaves and flowers from the Love Birds Stamps set on alcohol ink friendly card stock using Memento Tuxedo black ink and used the coordinating Sweet As Can Bee Dies and Love Birds Dies to die cut them out and colored them with my Copic Markers, see list below. I added the leaves and flowers to the branch using liquid glue.

Copic colors used:
Bees: YR04, Y15/17, B01/000
Beehive: YR04/07, Y15/17, N5/6/8
Branch: E21/23/25
Leaves: YG03/17
Flowers: Y17, RV52/55

Next, I added foam dots to the back of the die cut images for dimension and adhered them to the card, except for the heart swirl which I glued directly to the panel using liquid glue.

For the sentiment I stamped the “Just buzzin´ by to say” from the Sweet As Can Bee Stamps set at the bottom of the panel. I used the Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies to die cut the HI letters out of pink and black cardstock. I layered and adhered the letters to each other and then onto the panel.

To complete my card I used Distress Rock Cand and Distress Matte medium for glue to the wings of the bees and to the center of the flowers for some sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you all a happy and colorful day!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Afternoon Tea Cards with June Helsen

Hi crafty friends! It's June here, and I'm back again as a guest designer for the summer release! I'm so excited to share the cards I've created with the Afternoon Tea Stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Afternoon Tea Cards by June Helsen (featuring Sweet As Can Be, Fancy Frame Square Dies)

My first card features the teapot and cups in a very summer-y setting. I colored them in with little yellow and teal details, but left them mostly white. I decorated the teapot with the sunflower from the new Sweet as Can Bee Stamps. I also added some of them around my scene, as well as the leaves and lemons from the same set. I love how the flowers and lemons bring in more of the tea set's yellow.

I cut a square card panel from one of the teal patterned papers in the Gingham Pastels Paper pack for my background. Instead of backing my scene with the busy gingham directly, I cut a Fancy Frames Square, backed it with some vellum, and popped it up with some foam tape.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Afternoon Tea Cards by June Helsen (featuring Sweet As Can Be, Fancy Frame Square Dies)

It kinda reminds me of a tablecloth with a square doily, which I think matches the tea time theme really well! The only thing left to do was add a sentiment, so I cut a sentiment strip from brown cardstock and embossed the 'sip sip hooray' from the Afternoon Tea Stamp on it.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Afternoon Tea Cards by June Helsen (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies, Fancy Frame Rectangle Dies)

For the second card, I wanted to go for a totally different theme. When I think of teacups and pots, there's one thing I think of right away: Chip and Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast! So that's exactly what inspired me when creating my next card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Afternoon Tea Cards by June Helsen (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies, Fancy Frame Rectangle Dies)

I colored them in exactly as Mrs. Potts and Chip, which ended up working really well with these stamps. I know it's not visible on my card, but I used a fineliner to add the scalloped border on the bottom before coloring it pink and blue. Sadly, that part got covered up in my final design, cause that really made them look like their respective characters. I also used the fineliner to add a little chip on the teacup, of course!

The stamp set also includes a beautiful cluster of flowers that I colored in twice using purple and green to match my color palette. I also stamped the scripted Mother's Day sentiment in a similar purple ink. A perfect sentiment for these characters if you ask me!

For my background, I took an unexpected turn by going for a bright yellow instead of more of that soft purple that I've brought in a couple of times. I thought it would be fun to use a variety of products with scallops and curls to mimic Belle's dress. For the card panel itself, I inked a soft yellow blend and added some ink splatters. For the elements I added on top, I used a darker shade of yellow, like the one in many illustrations of Belle. I ended up going for the Fancy Frame Rectangles Dies and one of the Loopy Rectangle Frames Dies.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my cards and seeing the amazing cards the design team has made using the new release. I wish you all a very creative week. Have fun crafting!
