Puppy Parents Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it is Tina and today I am creating a sweet card for my husband, who is an incredible Dad and also a dog lover. Our two dogs Mira and Lena bring so much love and joy in our lives. When I saw the Puppy Parents stamp and die set, I knew it would be perfect for this project!

Of course, I selected the two fluffiest doggies of this adorable bunch since they look just like ours. To set the scene, I also stamped the sweet doghouse, a few balls, the food bowl, and some bones.

After creating a simple white card base, I die cut all the layers for this card. Starting with the white frame (largest of the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies), I backed this frame with a sheet of pink striped paper (Dots & Stripes Pastels) and finally I cut a white arched panel (Stitched Arch dies).

This last piece will become the base for my scene. First, I stamped a cobblestone border (Sprawling Surfaces). Next, I masked off this part of the panel with some Post-It tape and added a pink cloudy sky with a stencil from my stash and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.

I pulled out my Copic Markers and colored all the images as well as the stone border. But when I did a try-out of the scene and put the dogs in place, it felt a bit busy. A piece of vellum is a good option to soften a busy background. Die cutting with the Stitched Arch again gave me the perfect vellum layer. I used a tape runner for vellum to attach this layer to the background and felt much happier with the design!

The arched shape of the Brilliant Banner 4 die was a perfect match for the scene, my Misti worked great to curve the combined sentiment from the Puppy Parents stamp (the red ink was pulled from my stash).  As a final embellishment, I added a few Pink Spinel Jewels.

Puppy Parents Card with Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Catherine here! Father’s Day is just around the corner and I am sharing a card dedicated to all Dads created with Puppy Parents!

To start, I ink blended A2 white cardstock with a stencil created with Frilly Frames Stripes Dies using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide. I splatted some blue watercolor onto the panel for added interest.

Next, I die cut three 1 ¾” squares. I ink blended the squares with the following distress oxides: Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Dried Marigold, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, and Spun Sugar, and Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, and Twisted Citron.

I adhered square frames from Fancy Frames Square Dies on top of each square. I stamped the cute doggies from Puppy Parents Stamps and die cut with the coordinating dies Puppy Parents Dies. I added hearts from Passionate Penguin Stamps. I colored the images with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below.

I adhered a white frame onto the back panel and glued all the images on top. I finished off the card with a White Heat Embossed sentiment from Puppy Parents Stamps and the word “dad” die cut from Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies with black cardstock.

Introducing New Puppy Love Stamps For Valentine's Day

Merry Christmas!  I hope you all are enjoying a fun and relaxing holiday with your loved ones today. This week our team will be transitioning from Christmas to Spring, featuring a new mini stamp set called Puppy Love that is perfect for Valentine's Day, however as my cards will illustrate this set is not limited to only a single occasion. Let's jump right in, shall we?

Card No.1: This mini set comes with two heart toting dogs with 4 mini hearts and one punny "You're Pawsome!" greeting. For my first card I paired the Puppy Love dogs with the doghouse, food bowl and bone from our Puppy Parents Stamps and the greeting from our Meow & Furever Stamps. To start I created my own handmade pattered paper by repeatedly stamping the bone onto a piece of kraft paper, drawing faint pencil lines on the diagonal with a clear grid ruler that I could erase away when I was done. 

I then trimmed the bottom of my panel and added a stitched edge using the die from our Slimline Basic Border Dies set. To frame my pups I cut a scalloped circle from red cardstock using the Scalloped Circle Mat 2 Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. Finally I cut a straight scalloped edge to match to adhere along the bottom using those Slimline Basic Border Dies. 

Card No.2: Next up is a grid style card alternating the dogs from the new Puppy Love Stamps with the cats from our Meow & Furever Stamps. To form my square card base, I layered a piece of red cardstock with a white stitched panel cut using our Stitched Rectangle Dies. To elongate the rectangle die into a square shape, I had part of my die fall off the cutting plate to not cut all the way through on that one side and then ran it through a second time doing the same thing on the opposite side.

To make my card feel cohesive, I chose to keep a very simple color palette by coloring all my images in tan, brown, pink and red tones using my Copic Markers.  To fill the ninth space in my square grid, I added a red Scalloped Heart die-cut to the top right corner which I heat embossed with the punny sentiment from the Puppy Love Stamps.

Card Set No. 3: Next up is a set of two dog sympathy cards using the new Puppy Love Stamps, together with the sentiments from our Pet Sympathy Stamps. To start I inked up two 4.25 x 5.5 inch white cardstock panels with Picked Raspberry distress ink. I then randomly stamped the four mini hearts from the puppy love set to once again create my own handmade patterned paper that perfectly compliments the dogs and other hearts which I also colored with Copic Markers.

Version 1: For this card I cut a scalloped frame for my simple scene using our Mini Mat & Tag 1 Dies. To form the grass and sky behind my dog I cut the grass border from our Picket Fence Dies from a piece of masking material, keeping both the positive and negative portions. This allowed me to use one side to the ink the grass and then the other side to ink my sky using distress inks. I was carefully to only ink near the middle so that it would fade out to white along the edges of my scalloped mat.

Version 2: For this card I alternately cut a scalloped frame using our Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies. For both cards I added sweet sentiments from our Pet Sympathy Stamps which come with greetings for both cats and dogs (and other furry critters) using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
