Guest Designer Spotlight: Afternoon Tea Cards with June Helsen

Hi crafty friends! It's June here, and I'm back again as a guest designer for the summer release! I'm so excited to share the cards I've created with the Afternoon Tea Stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Afternoon Tea Cards by June Helsen (featuring Sweet As Can Be, Fancy Frame Square Dies)

My first card features the teapot and cups in a very summer-y setting. I colored them in with little yellow and teal details, but left them mostly white. I decorated the teapot with the sunflower from the new Sweet as Can Bee Stamps. I also added some of them around my scene, as well as the leaves and lemons from the same set. I love how the flowers and lemons bring in more of the tea set's yellow.

I cut a square card panel from one of the teal patterned papers in the Gingham Pastels Paper pack for my background. Instead of backing my scene with the busy gingham directly, I cut a Fancy Frames Square, backed it with some vellum, and popped it up with some foam tape.

It kinda reminds me of a tablecloth with a square doily, which I think matches the tea time theme really well! The only thing left to do was add a sentiment, so I cut a sentiment strip from brown cardstock and embossed the 'sip sip hooray' from the Afternoon Tea Stamp on it.

For the second card, I wanted to go for a totally different theme. When I think of teacups and pots, there's one thing I think of right away: Chip and Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast! So that's exactly what inspired me when creating my next card.

I colored them in exactly as Mrs. Potts and Chip, which ended up working really well with these stamps. I know it's not visible on my card, but I used a fineliner to add the scalloped border on the bottom before coloring it pink and blue. Sadly, that part got covered up in my final design, cause that really made them look like their respective characters. I also used the fineliner to add a little chip on the teacup, of course!

The stamp set also includes a beautiful cluster of flowers that I colored in twice using purple and green to match my color palette. I also stamped the scripted Mother's Day sentiment in a similar purple ink. A perfect sentiment for these characters if you ask me!

For my background, I took an unexpected turn by going for a bright yellow instead of more of that soft purple that I've brought in a couple of times. I thought it would be fun to use a variety of products with scallops and curls to mimic Belle's dress. For the card panel itself, I inked a soft yellow blend and added some ink splatters. For the elements I added on top, I used a darker shade of yellow, like the one in many illustrations of Belle. I ended up going for the Fancy Frame Rectangles Dies and one of the Loopy Rectangle Frames Dies.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my cards and seeing the amazing cards the design team has made using the new release. I wish you all a very creative week. Have fun crafting!

Designer's Choice: Panda Party Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing this cookie card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party & Baked With Love Birthday Card by Janneke Peters (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies)

For this card, I started by die-cutting a card base from Classic Gingham patterned paper, which gives it a warm and cozy look. In the center, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock and added a beautiful gold frame using  Loopy Rectangle Frame dies.

Then it was time to “bake some cookies”! I used the Baked with Love stamp set and heat embossed the cookie shapes with white embossing powder on light brown paper. After that, I die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped and die-cut the piping bag, which I later placed in the panda’s hand for a fun detail.

To make the ‘cookies’ look like real cookies, I softly blended brown ink around the edges of the cookies and adhered them to the card. Next, I stamped the pandas and the sentiment from the Panda Party stamp set and colored them with my Ohuhu markers.

Finally, I arranged everything on the card to create a birthday scene that looks almost good enough to eat!

Card done, ready to send joy! Thanks for joining me, and see you in my next blog!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Sara Zoppi

Hi crafty friends, Sara here! It's been a long time since I was here, but today I am super happy to be guesting again for Sunny Studio Stamps! And I can't wait to show you two inspiration cards featuring some of the recent released products. So, let's dive into the first card!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Spring Garland & Penguin Pair Card by Sara Zoppi (featuring Icing Rectangle Dies)

Spring has come and the Spring Garland stamp set is a must have! As soon as I saw the preview, I knew I would have paired those two corner garlands with the recent released too Penguin Pair, which contains some of the cutest penguins ever!

I firstly stamped all the images I wanted to feature in my scene using Memento Black ink on some alcohol friendly paper. Then I colored all the images with my brand new OLO markers (alcohol markers are my absolutely favourite coloring mediums and I couldn't resist those ones too). The colors I used are listed below. I then added some details with the white gel pen and I die cut everything using the coordinating dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Spring Garland & Penguin Pair Card by Sara Zoppi (featuring Icing Rectangle Dies)

- Red Combo: R0.6 – R1.5 – R0.4
- Pink combo: RV1.7 – RV1.5 – RV0.4
- Orange combo: O2.7 – O2.5 – O1.3 – YO2.3
- Yellow Combo: Y2.3 – Y1.2 – Y1.1
- Green Combo: YG8.7 – YG1.6 – YG1.4 – YG1.2
- Penguin: RK – RG7 – RG6 – RG5 – OR2.2 – O4.1 – O2.5

For the background, I used the newest Icing Rectangle Frame dies to create a frame using a brown glitter paper and I put inside a piece of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock which I previously splattered with some pearl white ink.

For the sentiment, I used one of the mini phrases included in the previous released Punny Fruit Greetings stamp and I completed it with the word hug, made with the Chloe Alphabet Dies.

I assembled all the pieces with a mix of liquid glue and foam tape, in order to create depth, and then I matted the whole scene with a sligthly larger white panel. To complete everything, I also added some clear sparkly sequins. And here's the finished result!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wooly Friends Card by Sara Zoppi (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies)

For my second inspiration, I went for a more "graphical" card, using the Woolly Friends stamp set. Who says sheep are only "Easter-themed"? Easter has already passed and I had to think something different.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wooly Friends Card by Sara Zoppi (featuring Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies)

I decided to start creating a custom "patterned" design, with a sort of no-line coloring on some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, since my sheep are black and white. I repeatedly stamped three of the ones included in the stamp set (I chose the three who are symmetrical) using a light brown ink and then I colored all of the faces with OLO (BK- CG9 – CG7 – CG5 – CG4 – OR1.2 for the blush). As always, when I do some no-line coloring, I use coordinating pencil colors to add some details at the edges of my images. Then I used a white pencil to fill the wool and I added some white gel dots on the "fur" to create some texture. I filled the empty spaces between the sheep with some black and white dots too.

I then moved to the rest of the card. I knew I wanted to use this custom patterned panel create a sentiment at the right bottom corner, so I white heat embossed the "life is better" phrase on some black paper and I die cut the EWE word from black glitter cardstock using the same alphabet of the previous card.

I also die cut the largest Loopy Rectangle Frame die to add a frame on my patterned panel. While I was glueing all down, I realized I would have loved to add another single sheep next to the sentiment, so I stamped it on a white paper and I colored using the same combo, then I die cut it with the coordinating die. I assembled everything on a piece of A2 white panel and here's the finished result too!

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like my projects and you will be inspired to create something! See you next time!

Loopy Rectangle Frame Die Focused Card with Yan

Hello friends! Yan here—I've been having so much fun creating a playful birthday card using the Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies, and I can't wait to show you how it came together.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Loopy Rectangle Frame Die & Party Pets Birthday Card by Yan X DIY (featuring Sydney Alphabet Dies)

To start, I stamped the adorable dogs from the Party Pets Stamps onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then colored them with Copic markers to bring them to life. Once finished, I used the Party Pets Dies to cut them out neatly.

COPIC COLOR:
Dog With Bone : E18, E31, E35, E41, E43, R32, W1
3 Heart Balloons : G40, R30, R32, RV10, Y02, Y19, YG03
Gifts & Party Hat : G40, R30, R32, RV10, YG03

For the background, I die cut a panel from white cardstock using the Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies. I then blended Distress Oxides in Saltwater Taffy and Twisted Citron to create a soft, cheerful color combination perfect for a birthday card.

Next, I used the Sydney Alphabet Dies to die cut the letters "HBD" from another piece of white cardstock three times, stacking them with glue to create a bit of dimension. Finally, I assembled all the elements using foam tape and glue to bring the scene together.

This cheerful little card was so fun to create, and I hope it inspires your next birthday project!

Loopy Rectangle Frame Die Focused Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing this shaker card featuring the Loopy Rectangle Frame dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Loopy Rectangle Frame Die & Magical Mermaids Shaker Card by Janneke Peters (featuring Tropical Scenes)

I started by die-cutting the Loopy Rectangle Frame right in the center of my card base, creating a fun focal point. Next, I blended blue tones into the background to give the card a beautiful ocean feel, and added a piece of acetate behind the opening.

After that, I die-cut the Loopy shape again, this time from holographic paper, and adhered it on top of the acetate for a magical shimmer effect. At the bottom of the card, I created an underwater scene using the Tropical Scenes stamp set, bringing the ocean floor to life.

To finish the design, I stamped adorable mermaids and sea critters on the card using the Magical Mermaids stamp set. The little sea critters were placed inside the shaker element, while the mermaids were added to the front of the card. While the Magical Mermaids stamps have been retired, you can achieve a similar card using the newer Mermaid Kisses Stamps and Dies.

Card done, ready to send joy! Thanks for joining me, and see you next week.
