Holy Night Nativity Christmas Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi popping in to share some nativity Christmas cards featuring our Holy Night Stamps.

My first card showcasing the Holy Night Stamps utilizes as many images from the set as I could squeeze onto my A2-sized card panel. Before adhering any images, however, I started by inking the center of my card panel with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I then hand-cut a curved mask, taking turns using both halves. For the ground, I inked the bottom of the card with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. For the sky, I added Mermaid Lagoon around the glowing yellow center and then layered on Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress ink around the outer edges. To add additional layers to the nativity scene, I incorporated the palm trees from the Sending Sunshine Stamps and the Tropical Scenes Stamps. I then heat-embossed the glimmering star above the baby Jesus and the sentiment from the Holy Night set, before adding white dots for stars to the sky with a gel pen.

For my second card, I used that same curved mask I had fussy cut with my scissors for the first card to ink the light ray layers for the shining Star of Bethlehem. I first started by inking the center of my card panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I then took turns inking the two outer corners with Chipped Sapphire and re-adjusted the mask to rotate down on each corner before inking each side again with Salty Ocean. Finally, I removed all the masks and inked from the outside edges of the panel with Mermaid Lagoon, fading towards the center to leave it lightest with the Tumbled Glass ink peeking through. When I was done, I thoroughly dried the cardstock panel with my heat gun and used anti-static powder to prepare the surface for embossing the stars.

Next, I cut a curved stitched hill using the Slimline Nature Border Dies and blended Antique Linen with Vintage Photo along the bottom corners, which would be darker and further from the light. Once I had the stable, Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus roughly laid in place from the Holy Night Stamps, I took turns stamping the stars from the Baby Elephants Stamps and heat-embossing with White Detail Embossing Powder and Wow! Opaque Pastel Blue embossing powder. I then added the smallest two twinkly star images from the Holy Night set and filled in with some white dots, which were added with a gel pen. Lastly, I heat-embossed a sentiment in white from the Inside Greetings Christmas Stamps.

Beach Bus Summer Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some VW bus-inspired cards for summer using our Beach Bus Stamps.

For my first card, I paired the bus and surfboard from the Beach Bus Stamps with the ocean, palm trees, umbrella, and clouds from the Ocean View Stamps, and the seals and punny greeting from the Sealiously Sweet Stamps. I used the car and surfboard to hide the beach chair in the ocean scene and trimmed off the beach umbrella so I could position it higher. I then used the string from our Bold Balloons Stamps to string the flip flops from the Sealiously Sweet set between the palm trees and umbrella as a sort of banner or clothesline.

For my second card, I paired the bus and luggage from the Beach Bus Stamps with the critters on scooters from our Critters on the Go Stamps and the peeking woodland critters from our Truckloads of Love Stamps. To set the scene behind them, I used the grass border from the Picket Fence Dies, which I positioned to cut twice in my die-cutting machine to span the longer length of my 8.5" wide slimline card. I then inked up the grassy portion with Twisted Citron distress ink and the dirt road portion with Antique Linen distress ink. My sky was inked with a light hand of Salty Ocean distress ink, and I added the palm trees from our Tropical Scenes Stamps and Sending Sunshine Stamps. Lastly, I tucked in the clouds from our Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies and stamped a punny greeting from the Critters on the Go set.

Mermaid Kisses & Oceans of Joy Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some sea-themed cards for summer using our Mermaid Kisses Stamps and Oceans of Joy Stamps.

For my first card using the Mermaid Kisses Stamps, I paired the mermaids with the dolphin and the octopus from our Oceans of Joy Stamps, the palm trees from our Sending Sunshine Stamps and Ocean View Stamps, and the island from our Tropical Scenes Stamps. To create the waves to tuck my critters between, I cut four layers using our Catch A Waves Dies. I added the sunrays behind my island, using a soft lilac print from our Spring Sunburst Paper pack, and stamped my punny birthday greeting using a sentiment from the Mermaid Kisses set.

For my second card, I started with a sparkly background I originally created for the posts shared HERE and HERE. This was my first attempt where I had some of the glitter gel seep below the stencil I had made with our Frilly Frames Lattice Dies. However, always the saver, I hated to throw it away, so I held onto it for six years "just in case." Well, I finally put it to good use, hiding most of my boo-boos behind the giant whale (and turtle) from our Oceans of Joy Stamps. It adds such a pretty sparkle to the scene in person! I added coral and kelp to my sea floor using images from our Best Fishes Stamps, Magical Mermaids Stamps, and the Mermaid Kisses Stamps. Lastly, I added the mermaid and sentiment from the Mermaid Kisses, stamping it onto a pennant strip from the Notebook Photo Corner Dies.
