Guest Designer Spotlight: Monkey Business Card with Tammy Stark

Hello friends, Tammy here! I'm so excited to be back on the Sunny Studio  blog today sharing a card, featuring the adorable set, Monkey Business. 

To create my card, I started by stamping the images from Monkey Business, coloring with Copic markers, and die cutting the images with the Monkey Business Dies.

Next, I cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock A2 sized and ink blended the top 3/4 of the card with Saltwater Taffy and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide inks. I then taped off a small area on the bottom of the panel and blended Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks to create a sandy border. I splattered some Vintage Photo ink (thinned with a bit of water) onto the sandy border to create a bit of texture.

Next, I die cut the vines and leaves from Bristol cardstock using the Jungle Vines Dies. I colored the leaves and vines with Copic markers and arranged them onto the inked panel, trimming off the excess. I then stamped the sentiment using black ink. Next, I created a simple frame simply by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2". Using the second largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Die, I centered onto my white cardstock panel and ran it through my die cut machine to create a frame. I attached the frame to my card using foam tape for dimension, then arranged the monkeys and stamped images onto my card. Once I was happy with the layout, I attached the images with both a glue runner and foam tape.

Silly Sloths Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Hanh here with you today and I have a sweet birthday card to share with you showcasing the adorable Silly Sloths set. So let’s get started.

I stamped the images from the Silly Sloths Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Silly Sloths Dies to die cut them out. The Jungle Vines Dies were used to die cut a couple of tropical leaves out of the same Neenah white cardstock. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Sloths: E40/41/42/43/44, R20
Branches: E21/23/25/27
Leaves: YG01/03/25/17
Flowers: Y08/19, RV10/21/13/14

For the background, I used Spun Sugar and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend a background onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. The second largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Window Dies was used to die cut a window out the center of a piece of white cardstock to create the white frame.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Have a slothsome birthday” sentiment from the Silly Sloths Stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the banner die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies to die cut it out.

The colored images, sentiment and white frame were adhered to the card front with a combo of liquid glue and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Finally, the panel was adhered to a white A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”).

Jungle Vines Die Focused Card with Tina M

Hi there! Tina M here! Today I’m sharing a fun card created with the Jungle Vines Die set from the new Summer Release!

I started with a white piece of card stock and ink blended it in different shades of pink, orange, brown and green to then die cut out various leaves and vines using the Jungle Vines Die set.

Next I stamped some monkeys and bananas from the Monkey Business Stamps set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on alcohol ink friendly card stock and used the coordinating Monkey Business Dies to die cut them out and colored them with my Copic Markers, see list below.

Copic colors used:
Monkeys: E08/09/97, E000/01/11/13, R30/32
Bananas: YR20/21/23/24, E40/41, N4/5/6

For my card I used an A2 size card base, I added a piece of turquoise polka dot paper from the Polka-Dot Parade Paper pack to cover the card base, using double sided tape.

I trimmed a piece of pink cardstock from my stash to 5 x 3,75 inches and splattered black acrylic paint onto it. I then trimmed a slightly larger black panel to go behind my pink panel and adhered them to the card base, using double sided tape.

I die cut out the second largest of the Radiating Circles Dies from white cardstock and ink blended it with turquoise ink, I splattered black acrylic paint onto that piece also, when dried I adhered it to the pink panel using double sided tape.

For the sentiment I stamped the “Hope your birthday is Chimply bananas in the best way!” from the Monkey Business Stamps set. I added foam dots to the back of the monkeys, leaves and vines for dimension. For the small bananas at the bottom I used liquid glue.

Monkey Business Card with Yan

Hi friends, it’s Yan here! Today I’m sharing a fun card featuring the Monkey Business Stamps.

First, stamp the monkey images from the Monkey Business Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Color the images with Copic markers, then die-cut them using the coordinating Monkey Business Dies. Next, die-cut leafy branches from white cardstock using the Jungle Vines Dies. Add shading with Copic markers to create dimension.

For the background, stamp banana and heart patterns onto Kraft cardstock to create a decorative base. To create the sentiment, die-cut the word “BANANA” from white cardstock using the Sydney Alphabet Dies. Add a coordinating sentiment from the Monkey Business Stamps set and assemble it on the card front. Finally, adhere all elements together using foam tape to build dimension and complete the card design.

Jungle Vine Die Focused Card with Tina H

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and today we are creating a fun scene with the versatile Jungle Vines die set!

I started by cutting two pieces of the long vines, some leaves and one branch from white card stock. After placing them on a sticky mat, I added color with my distress Oxides in yellow, green, red and brown shades.

Next, I selected a matching green card base to complement the colors of the leaves. My card panel was cut from white paper with the largest of the Rounded Rectangle Mat dies.

For extra dimension, I dry embossed this piece with the Quilted Hearts folder and glued it directly to the card base with liquid glue. I used a small paintbrush and distress oxide ink to add some green splatters to the quilted backdrop.

The stars of the show are two adorable cuties from the Love Monkey set. I knew I wanted to place the vines to the left side, so there was enough space for one of the monkeys to fly up into the sky. All the coloring was done with my trusty Copic markers.

This design needed a bold sentiment and I found the perfect one in the Inside Greetings Friends stamps. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to add the phrase to a white banner.

Now it was time to put the scene together, starting with the branch, the vines and the monkeys. Lastly, I placed the sentiment banner in the left bottom corner with some foam tape for dimension. After adding a few sparkly Iridescent jewels this project was finished. Two Scoops Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing a summer card featuring the Two Scoops stamp set.   

For this card, I started by creating the base using a soft salmon-colored cardstock and die-cutting it with the Scalloped Square 1 Large dies. Then I created the white scalloped frame by die-cutting the same scalloped die from white cardstock and cutting out the center with the Stitched Square die.

Next, I die-cut the leaves  from light green cardstock using the Jungle Vine dies. To give both the salmon background and the green leaves a little extra dimension, I softly blended some ink onto them. After that, I adhered the leaves onto the salmon background and layered the white frame on top.

For the focal image, I stamped the Big Bunny along with the little hat and some flowers from the Big Panda stamp set and I colored everything with my Ohuhu markers.

Then it was time for the ice cream using the Two Scoops stamp set! Thanks to the layering stamps, the ice cream gets such beautiful detail. For the final stamp layer, I stamped it twice. Besides using a darker ink color, I also stamped over it with embossing ink and added some glitter embossing powder for extra sparkle. I placed the ice cream into the bunny’s hands and adhered it onto the card and stamp the sentiment.

To finish everything off, I added some highlights with a white gel pen and a neon yellow gel pen. I really love how the soft tropical colors and the sparkly ice cream give this card such a fun summer vibe.

Jungle Vines Die Focused Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I am excited to share a fun birthday card showcasing the new Jungle Vines Dies. This awesome die set has a wonderful array of leaves that can be used for so many different styles of cards. They are perfect for tropical as well as jungle scenes and can be customized for spring as well as fall cards. Today, I have paired them up with the adorable monkeys from the Monkey Business set. So let's get started. 

The Jungle Vines Dies were used to die cut the branch, vine and several leaves out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock. Next, I stamped the monkey images from the Monkey Business Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Monkey Business Dies to die cut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

I added some dots with a white gel pen for a bit of interest. I adhered the panel to the front of a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5").

For the sentiment, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a piece of white cardstock and used the coordinating Big Bold Greetings Dies to die cut it out.

The vines, leaves, colored images and the sentiment were adhered to the card front with a combo of liquid glue and foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Finally, I added a few flowers die cut from the Gift Card Envelope Dies.
