Heffy Doodle & Sunny Studio Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello & welcome to a collaboration blog hop with the Heffy Doodle design team. Our two teams have swapped products and are sharing fun card idea for spring. Today I'm joining in with three cards of my own featuring primarily Heffy Doodle products with a little Sunny Studio sprinkled in.

Heffy Doodle & Sunny Studio Collaboration Blog Hop: Quill You Be Mine & Chimply The Best Cards by Mendi Yoshikawa

As a company owner I so rarely find the time to make cards using other company's products these days (even though I continue to be a fangirl and collect them just as much as I ever did) so this blog hop is a real treat for me. For my first card I am featuring Heffy Doodle's Quill You Be Mine? Stamps, together with the darling heart cutout from their Fancy Nancy Frames Dies

To save on cardstock, I decided to cut the heart frame directly from my cardbase and then colored my grass panel using twisted citron distress ink and stamping it with the grass images from our Chickie Baby Stamps. I then adhered my entire panel which I trimmed down ever so slightly to the inside of my card base. As a final touch I used Heffy Doodle's super fun Roundabout Sentiments together with their coordinating Curved Banner Die.

Up next is another card featuring the Heffy Doodle Quill You Be Mine? Stamps and another frame option from the Fancy Nancy Frames Dies. For my background  I stamped our Cascading Hearts background stamps twice, side by side, using my MISTI and a rainbow of ink colors.  I then blended on that same rainbow of ink colors for my background with Candy Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks.

When I was done, I die-cut my panel using the stitched frame from our Frilly Frames Retro Petals Dies. My final finishing touch was adding my sentiment using the Roundabout Sentiments Stamps and Curved Banner Die. I just love how well these were thought out with the option to have the greeting continue for both the top and bottom. Such a sweet hugging image too!

My last card of the day combine's Heffy Doodle's adorable Chimply The Best Monkeys with their Amazonian Leaves Dies for a fun moonlit swing through the jungle. I started my card by inking my moon in the background by using a circular motion and my favorite Jumbo Dauber together with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks. I then worked on some Salty Ocean distress ink from the outside edges, being careful to only blend ever so slightly so that there wasn't an obvious green line where the two colors overlapped. I then followed with some Blueprint Sketch distress ink on the outer edges. Lastly I cut my stitched background panel using our Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies.

For my Amazonian Leaves I first inked up scraps of paper with Twisted Citron distress ink before cutting them out with the dies. I then inked up half of my leaves on the right side and the other half on the left side using Mowed Lawn distress ink. This gives the appearance that both the leaves on top and bottom have the same light source, lends a bit of dimension to them and also helps to overlap them without them looking flat and losing the detail where they cross over each other.

When I was done adding my leaves, I realized I should have had my leaves bleeding off the edge of my card more, but it turned out to be a happy realization because I was able to trim both the top and bottom off, which gave me a little room to add a fun strip of coordinating paper from our Summer Splash Paper pack, together with a little zig-zag edge from our Ric Rac Border dies. I completed my card with a heat embossed sentiment from the Chimply The Best stamp set using VersaMark Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Rachel Alvarado

Hello crafty friends! Rachel Alvarado here. I am thrilled to be guest designing today for Sunny Studio Stamps! I absolutely love the latest release and had a lot of fun creating my projects today!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Fairy Slimline Dies Everyday Card by Rachel Alvarado

For my first project, I created a fun slimline card using both the new Garden Fairy Stamp Set combined with the gorgeous Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies. To start, I first trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock slightly larger than 2.75" X 7.75". I then stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, using a masking technique to give my images some depth while still being just one layer. For my masking pieces, I stamped my images again onto a sheet of Gina K. Designs Masking Magic Sheets, fussy cut each image, and then placed the masks where necessary while stamping.

With my masking pieces still covering the images below them, I then blended some Distress Oxide Inks for my background (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Kitsch Flamingo). My background colors were inspired by some blends recently shown by the amazing Jessica Frost Ballas. You can view her awesome post and video HERE. Once my background was blended, I then splattered it with some diluted opaque white paint as well as some diluted purple watercolor paint for added interest.

Next, I removed my masking pieces and then allowed my panel to dry before coloring all of my images with Copic Markers. Following that, I used the Stitched Mat Die from the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies to trim my panel. I then stamped my sentiment, and adhered the entire piece to a scalloped back panel that I had die cut from white card stock using the same die set.

COPIC COLOR BLENDS USED: Reds: R02, R14, R27; Pinks: RV02, RV63, RV55, RV66; Purples: BV00, BV01, BV02, BV04; Greens: YG01, YG06, YG17, YG67; Light Browns: E41, E42, E43, E44; Dark Browns: E31, E23, E25, E29

Sunny Studio Stamps: Feeling Froggy Country Scenes Scalloped Circle Mat Dies Everyday Card by Rachel Alvarado

For my second card, I used the new Feeling Froggy Stamp Set combined with the new Scalloped Circle Mat 3 Dies and Country Scene Stamps. I once again created a single layer card for my images using the masking technique. I again stamped my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock (4.25" x 5.75") and used Copic Markers to color them.

For my background, with my masking pieces were still on, I blended my sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks and my pond area with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. I used some blue patterned paper (4.25" X 5.75") from the Spring Fling Paper Pad for the base of my card and die cut a circle in the top center of it using a basic circle die. I then adhered this piece over my card base with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape, allowing my images to be seen through the circular window. Next, I cut a scalloped circle from white card stock using the Scalloped Circle Mat 3 Dies and then die cut the center out of it (to create a scalloped frame) using the same basic circle die that I had used earlier.

COPIC COLOR BLENDS USED:  Greens: YG01, YG06, YG17, YG67; Browns: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44; Grays: C00, C3, C4

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today and sending a big thanks also to Mendi for having me as a guest! I hope you enjoyed my cards today! If you liked these cards and want some more crafty inspiration, please feel free to check out my blog at Rachel Alvarado Designs or my INSTAGRAM feed!

Lovable Llama Gift Tags and Card with Candice and Kay

Hello crafty friends! It's Candice with you today sharing a few fun birthday gift tags to attach to any bag or present using these sweet Lovable Llamas!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovable Llama Floating By Slimline Dies Llama Themed Birthday Card by Candice Fisher

I used these Sunny Studio products to create my gift tags:

I began my tags by die cutting 4 of the smaller stitched pennants, inking 2 of them with spun sugar, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade and twisted citron, splattered with white paint and then splattered those colors onto the other 2 with a damp paint brush.

Next, I stamped the llamas, hats and balloons, colored them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. To put the the tags together, I stamped the sentiment along the bottom of the white tags and adhered the images above it with foam tape. I then created the mini tags by die cutting them out, inking them with twisted citron and spun sugar and stamped the "floating by to say". I finished by punching holes into the top of the pennants, layered the colored one under and threaded the twine through and tied off with a long string to add to any bag!

Thank you for visiting today!

Hi there! Kay here today sharing a cute card I made with the new Lovable Llama stamp set and coordinating dies!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovable Llama Slimline Dies Winter Scenes Llama Themed Card by Kay Miller

This will probably be my last winter card for the year, as I am officially ready for spring here, but I had to put this adorable little llama in a winter setting because he lives way up in the Andean mountains in the snow. I also chose the sentiment from the Balloon Rides stamp set, sending smiles across the miles, because the Andean Mountains are kind of far away... at least from where I am anyway

For the background on my card, I lightly stenciled some clouds. I used the clouds die from the Slimline Nature Borders dies to create my stencil and blended Salty Ocean Distress inks onto my cardstock over the stencil. I then splattered the background with white ink. I cut the two snowy hills using the Slimline Nature Borders also, and blended some Salty Ocean Distress ink onto those as well to create a little depth in the snow.

All of the cute images were colored with Copic markers, cut out with the coordinating dies, and added to my card with foam tape. The snowy trees are from the Winter Scenes stamp set and the sentiment at the bottom is from the Balloon Rides stamp set

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed my card! Stay warm if it's still chilly where you live!

Feeling Froggy Cards with Anja and Vanessa

Hello everyone, Anja here and today I'm featuring the Feeling Froggy mini stamp set and I decided to create a masculine CAS card. I combined the frog and dragonfly with the cattails and water lily from the Country Scenes set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Feeling Froggy Country Scenes Stitched Semi-Circle Dies Everyday Card by Anja Bytyqi

I started off with a topfolding A2 card base and trimmed a white cardstock panel to the same size. I cut out a window using the second largest of the Stitched Semi-Circle Dies. To add some texture, I debossed the panel using the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder.

Instead of my usual Distress Oxide ink blending, I tried something different for the background. I cut green, aqua and blue cardstock strips to the same width and adhered them behind the window. It's a great way to use up some scraps and it still matches my pond scene. I popped up the debossed panel with foam tape.

Next, I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink onto a white fishtail banner. Finally, I adhered everything with liquid glue and foam squares.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

-------------------------------------------------

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a fun slimline card using the adorable Feeling Froggy stamps. I just had to combine it with the older set Froggy Friends, because the chubby frog looked to me like he was being squished by something, or somebody and this is the result:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Feeling Froggy Froggy Friends Everyday Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I die-cut the rectangle with the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies from white cardstock. Then I stamped the images from bottom to top, masking the previously stamped images. Now I inked the background using the following Distress Oxide Inks from bottom to top: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Broken Glass. After I had stamped the water waves, I removed the masks and colored everything with Copic markers. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to the card base.

Stamps and dies used today:
Feeling Froggy stamps (bottom frog, flies, sentiment)
Froggy Friends stamps (other frogs, hat, water)
Oceans of Joy (balloon)
Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies (panel)

These fun frogs are so cute, don't you agree? I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration, thank you for stopping by!
