Sealiously Sweet Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing a sunny beach card featuring the Sealiously Sweet stamp set. 

This card I created using the masking technique. Of course, if masking isn’t your thing, you can easily recreate this adorable beach scene using the coordinating dies instead.

The stars of the scene are the adorable seals from the Sealiously Sweet stamp set. I started by arranging all of my stamps on a white card panel until I was happy with the composition. I stamped the images one by one, masking each layer as I went to create depth and overlap.

I added a few fun accessories: the colorful beach ball comes also from the Sealiously Sweet stamp set, the bucket and shovel are from the Beach Buddies stamp set. I also stamped a couple of playful jumping fish from the Cat Atics stamp set, tropical leaves from Fabulous Flamingos, and fluffy clouds from the Majestic Meadow stamp set.

After all the masking was in place, I ink blended the background. To give the scene a warm tropical atmosphere, I stamped the palm trees from the Beach Bus stamp set over the blended sky. Once I was happy with the background, I added some water splatters and finished it off with white gouache splatters for extra texture and sparkle.

When everything was completely dry, I carefully removed all of the masking paper and colored the stamped images with my Ohuhu alcohol markers. I finished the images with highlights using a white gel pen, then adhered the panel to a white card base.

As a finishing touch, I die-cut a white frame using the Tropical Trees Backdrop die and adhered it around the scene.

Beach Bus Summer Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some VW bus-inspired cards for summer using our Beach Bus Stamps.

For my first card, I paired the bus and surfboard from the Beach Bus Stamps with the ocean, palm trees, umbrella, and clouds from the Ocean View Stamps, and the seals and punny greeting from the Sealiously Sweet Stamps. I used the car and surfboard to hide the beach chair in the ocean scene and trimmed off the beach umbrella so I could position it higher. I then used the string from our Bold Balloons Stamps to string the flip flops from the Sealiously Sweet set between the palm trees and umbrella as a sort of banner or clothesline.

For my second card, I paired the bus and luggage from the Beach Bus Stamps with the critters on scooters from our Critters on the Go Stamps and the peeking woodland critters from our Truckloads of Love Stamps. To set the scene behind them, I used the grass border from the Picket Fence Dies, which I positioned to cut twice in my die-cutting machine to span the longer length of my 8.5" wide slimline card. I then inked up the grassy portion with Twisted Citron distress ink and the dirt road portion with Antique Linen distress ink. My sky was inked with a light hand of Salty Ocean distress ink, and I added the palm trees from our Tropical Scenes Stamps and Sending Sunshine Stamps. Lastly, I tucked in the clouds from our Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies and stamped a punny greeting from the Critters on the Go set.

Sealiously Sweet Summer Seal Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some sea-themed cards for summer using our Sealiously Sweet Stamps.

For my first card featuring the Sealiously Sweet Stamps, I painted a row of five stacked paint streaks using Ranger's Distress Paint onto bristol paper. I then trimmed my panel down to 4" wide x 5.25" high and mounted it onto an A2-sized piece of black cardstock. For my greeting, I heat-embossed the words "Have a sealiously awesome" onto black cardstock strips and cut apart the words into three separate strips. I then stamped the word "summer" from the Big Panda Stamps and cut a shadow around it using the coordinating dies. Lastly, I added a row of three white seals decked out for summer using the sunglasses and sunhat accessories. I felt I needed a little extra detail on the left side of my card, so I layered a flower on the hat from our Love Birds Stamps.

For my second card, I again turned to the Ranger Distress paints with the same five colors. This time I filled my entire background with the swipes of paint, not leaving any of the white background to show through. I trimmed off some less desirable spots along the edges and added a stitched edge with the Slimline Basic Border Dies, layered over a simple white RicRac edge using our Ric Rac Border Dies. 

I had stamped a punny greeting from the Sealiously Sweet Stamps directly onto the painted cardstock. Sadly, I learned the hard way that the Versafine ink doesn't dry on the painted surface very well. I smeared it pretty badly, so I did my best to salvage the card by restamping the same sentiment onto the pennant strip from our Notebook Photo Corners Dies to layer over the top to hide all the smudges. The two sentiment strips from this set are such versatile sizes and are always coming to my rescue. I then lined up three sets of images down the center of my card featuring the seals with the rainbow floaties and beach ball to match my painted stripes.
