Special Day Card with Marieke

Hello all, Marieke here. I'm back again with my weekly post for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I hope to inspire you with a project that I made using the Special Day.

Cut a white topfold base card, added a piece of the Gingham Pastels paper on the front of the card. Cut a white scalloped rectangle using the Frilly Frames Hexagon dies. Cut a watercolor panel, inked it up using Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac. Splattered some water and cut it using the Quilted Hearts Landscape die. 

Cut a piece of wood grain kraft cardstock for the "floor" and added a white 1/4 inch strip to create a baseboard. Heat set the sentiment out of Monkey Business on a piece of purple cardstock and cut it using the Brilliant Banner 1 die. Added some white gel pen details to finish the banner of.

Used Copic Colors:
Penguin - N6, N4, N2 / E53, E51, E50, 0 / YR16, YR02, YR00 / R20
White - C5, C3, C1, C00, 0
Green - YG67, YG63, YG03
Purple - BV17, BV04, BV13, BV02
Brown - E44, E43, E41, E40

Cut the penguins out of Wedded Bliss and Passionate Penguins. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them with the Wedded Bliss die and my scissors. Cut the cake out of Special Day, colored it up and cut it using the Special Day dies. Added some gold touches to the cake and crown. Finished the card by adding different sizes of clear sequins.

Special Day & Birthday Cat Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! We are celebrating Sunny Studio's 10th Birthday all this week and this is Mendi here today, popping in to share some birthday cards for cat lovers, combining our Birthday Cat Stamps and Special Day Stamps.

For my first card of the day, I colored the three-tiered cake and candles from our Special Day Stamps and inserted the two peeking kitties over the hearts on the cake from our Birthday Cat Stamps. I added three more kitties wearing party hats and peeking inside the gift, and then, to even out the scene on the right, I added an oversized gift from our Holiday Hugs Stamps. For my card background, I added rainbow-striped strips of patterned paper from the Rainbow Bright Paper pad along the top and bottom of my card. Then, I layered them with a white cardstock panel in the center, adding stitching along the edges with the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies.

For my second card, I stamped and colored rows of numbered candles along both the top and bottom of my card from the Special Day Stamps. I stamped them randomly but then colored them in rainbow order. I then layered a piece of turquoise blue cardstock in the center, adding stitching along the top and bottom using the stitched edge from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. For my focal point, I added three of the kitty cupcakes from the Birthday Cat Stamps, coloring the wrappers in the same rainbow I used for the candles and popping them up with foam tape. Lastly, I stamped a punny greeting from the set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added white highlights to all my images using a white gel pen.

Cat Antics card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and I had so much fun creating this sweet birthday card with the adorable Cat Antics stamp and die set! I love these kitties so much that I initially colored five of them! But sometimes you have to adjust your design plans since I only had room for three. So, I put the other two aside for a future card!

For this project, I kept to a strict color scheme of beige, brown, coral, and red tones. I started by coloring the big celebration cake (Special Day), the banners (Panda Party), presents, party hat (Party Pets) and the sweet cats with their ball of yarn (Cat Antics stamp). I added some white details to make the images pop.

To match the color scheme, I create a cream card base. Next, I cut a white panel with the largest of the Rounded Rectangle Mat dies. Since I wanted a white border around my scene, I used a smaller die from the same set. This provides you with the border and a smaller rectangle mat for scene building.

First, I stamped my background onto this smaller mat panel. For the bottom part (after masking of the top part with some Post It tape) I used the wood floor stamp (Sprawling Surfaces) and a brown ink from my stash. Using a small blending brush to add more brown ink to the planks.

Then I lowered the Post It tape to stamp the ‘wallpaper’ part of the card with a light pink ink and the fun diagonal grid stamp (Background Basics 2). You can only see it on the left side of the card, but I drew in a baseboard with a black pen and colored it with a dark brown pencil.

My sentiment consists of a large die cut (Wishes word) and a Happy Birthday stamp (Punny Fruit Greetings, Versafine Onyx Black ink). Next, I could build the entire scene.
Adding a few Crystal clear Jewels finishes this sweet project.

Merry Mocha Card with Alma

Hello everyone, Alma here! Today I want to show you a card that is as colorful and cheerful as I imagine Christmas to be! At the center of the card is the winter mug from the Merry Mocha Stamps set. 

Since everyone loves to enjoy a big slice of Christmas cake with their hot cocoa, I stamped the cake from the Special Day Stamps set and decorated it with elements from the Holiday Express Stamps set to give it a festive Christmas look. For me, the "marzipan" tree ;-) is the big highlight of the cake. The cake’s pattern is created with the snowflake from the Merry Mocha Stamps set. I colored the images using Copics.

Overall, the card is designed as an indoor scene, as I created the card base using the Windows Quad Square Dies. This die is perfect for quick window cards and fits a classic card format beautifully. It's also great for making shaker cards. The scent of hot chocolate and Christmas cake has even drawn in guests from outside! As you can see, Santa and his reindeer friends have sneaked up to the window, waiting for a big slice of delicious cake. Santa is from the Santa Claus Lane Stamps, and the reindeer are from the Reindeer Games Stamps set.

For the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers, and created a winter landscape using the Forest Trees Stencil and a white gel pen. Finally, I added sequins to complete the shaker card! To finish, I used the Brilliant Banner 4 Dies and stamped the text "Have a super jolly Christmas" from the Reindeer Games Stamps set.
