Build-A-Bowl Card with Amanda

Hey there, crafty friends! It’s Amanda and I'm so happy to be here with you on the blog today! I just received the coolest Build-a-Bowl Die Set from Sunny Studio Stamps and I am obsessed!! You can make all sorts of different bowls with this set!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Bowl & Fresh Lemon Friendship Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Stitched Arch Dies)

For my card, I created a colander for my lemons out of gray cardstock. It’s super simple to create it! You just die cut the handles, oval ring, base and bowl. Secure the hole-y die on top of the bowl with a piece of low tack tape and then run it through your die cutting machine again to create holes in the bowl to convert it to a colander! Glue all the pieces together and you’ve got yourself a colander!

The lemons are die cut using the Fresh Lemon Dies. I cut the lemons with 2 different shades of yellow cardstock and the leaves from a textured green cardstock. Once all the lemons were cut, I arranged them in the colander and then used glue to secure them. I put foam tape and squares behind the assembled colander and the lemons.

For the background, I ran the largest of the Stitched Arch Dies through my die cutting machine with a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 4.25” x 5.5”.

For the arch cutout, I lightly blended Catherine Pooler’s Oh Boy! ink. I placed 3D foam strips behind the arch frame and attached it to an A2 card base. Then, I glued the inner arch directly to the card base. I added my colander and lemons to the card.

I stamped my sentiment from the Slice of Summer Stamps with a Wow! embossing pad onto a piece of black cardstock. Then, I applied white embossing powder to the glue. I used my heat tool to melt the powder and then I trimmed the cardstock into a strip. I placed a 3D foam strip behind the sentiment and added it to the card. To finish the card off, I added a few of the Champagne Clear Jewels with glue.

I can’t wait to experiment with making different sorts of bowls with these dies! So much fun! Come back tomorrow for more crafty inspiration from the team!

Fresh Lemon Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a punny and zesty card to share with you featuring the Fresh Lemon Dies and Build-a-Bowl Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh Lemon & Build-A-Bowl Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Punny Fruit Greetings)

I used the Fresh Lemon Dies and the Build-a-Bowl Dies to diecut several lemons and the bowl out of white and green cardstock. I also used the Strawberry Patch Dies to diecut three flowers. Squeezed Lemon, Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber DIstress Oxide inks were used to "color" the lemons. I assembled the lemons inside the bowl and adhered them to each other.

For the layout, I used the Frilly Frames Polka Dot Dies to create an eyelet edge on a piece of pink cardstock.

For the sentiment, I diecut the letters for the word ZEST out of white cardstock twice using the Chloe Alphabet Dies. The letters were layered and adhered to each other with liquid adhesive. For the subsentiment, I stamped the words "you're simply the" from the Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps directly onto the pink panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I adhered the ZEST below.

The bowl of lemons was adhered to the panel with foam tape for some dimension. A piece of craft foam was adhered to the back of the pink panel before it was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5"). The card was finished with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. For more info and ideas, be sure to visit the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspiration.

Wicker Basket Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and I had so much fun creating this Wicker Basket filled with juicy lemons. The basket was initially designed as an Easter die set but of course it can be used all year round!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wicker Basket Die Focused Best Wishes Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Fresh Lemon Dies, Buffalo Plaid Dies)

After creating a standard card base, I cut a white panel with the outer die from Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace. This set comes with its own detailed insert, but I switched to the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal die instead for that extra layer of interest (I just glued this embossed rectangle panel cut to size on top of the scalloped piece).

With my base finished, I could start die cutting the cute Wicker Basket (and bow), some Fresh Lemons and a bunch of leaves (Strawberry Patch). Yes, I did use strawberry leaves with the lemons, but that is the beauty of card making!

I placed the die cuts on my sticky mat and used Distress Oxides to add color to all these pieces (Squeezes Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Kitsch Flamingo, Abandoned Coral).

Then came the tricky part, creating the composition of basket, fruit, and flowers. I positioned the basket near the bottom of the white panel and played around with the die cuts. Once I was happy, I could glue the elements in place, using a mix of foam squares and liquid glue.

My sentiment was taken from the Everyday Greetings set and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Adding a few Aquamarine Jewels finishes this sweet project.

I can’t wait to see your summer projects! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Summer Fruit-Themed Dies 4-Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some fruit-themed cards for Summer using a variety of dies and our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps. Once again for all four of my cards, I stuck with a single design which I repeated, changing only the images, patterned papers, and the different greetings from the same stamp set.

Sunny Studio Cards using Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps, Strawberry Patch, Cherry, Lemon, Watermelon, Build-a-Bowl Craft Dies

Card No.1:
My first card focuses on the strawberries, blossoms, and leaves from the Strawberry Patch Dies. For all of my cards today, I started by die-cutting a white scalloped panel 5-1/2" x 3-5/8" using the lacy edge die from our Slimline Pennant Dies set. I then added a stitched strip from Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I had in my head that I wanted to add a ribbon bow without any bulk, but Sunny Studio doesn't have a die like this already in our line-up so I borrowed one from another company that was just the right size to match using Lawn Fawn's Platform Pop-up Dies. I added a diagonal green striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack along the bottom of my card and stamped a sweet greeting to match my card's scene using our Punny Fruit Greetings Stamps with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No. 2: My second card combines the lemon slices from the Fresh Lemon Dies, the Strawberries from the Strawberry Patch Dies, and the cherries from the Wild Cherry Dies. This time I switched out the patterned paper to match my lemon for a yellow gingham print from our Gingham Pastel Paper pack.

Card No. 3: For my next card I focused on using both seed variations from our Juicy Watermelon Dies, switching out my bow for a green one this time and opting for a red striped print from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. I can't get enough of these fresh colors for summer! This card reminds me of one of my daughter's favorite Gymboree tops from way back when.

Card No. 4: Lastly, I have a card combining lemons and limes from our Fresh Lemon Dies with the wired basket from our Build-a-Bowl Dies. I added a coral-colored bow to match the one grapefruit citrus slice and a yellow striped patterned paper from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack. This particular scene took up more space than the others in my set, so I added a stacked sentiment "sending you a big squeeze" in the top right corner instead of all lined up below the scene like I did for my other cards.

That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today.💛

Summer Jar Mug Card with Amanda

Hey crafty friends! It’s Amanda back here on the Sunny Studio Blog today! Thanks for coming by and getting crafty with me! Today, I am sharing this Summer Vibes card! I cannot WAIT for summer to get here, how about you!?

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Jar Mug & Fresh Lemon Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Stitched Arch Dies)

To create this card, I trimmed a piece of the bright and cheery Summer Splash Paper to 4”x5.25”. I glued this paper to an A2 card base. Next, I cut out the largest of the Stitched Arch Dies in white cardstock. I ink blended a very small amount of Catherine Pooler Melon Ice ink in the center of the arch. I applied some 3D foam strips behind the arch and then adhered it to my card front.

I die cut the Fresh Lemon Dies and the Summer Jar Mug Dies out of white cardstock. First, I used some Glossy Accent on the 3 little ice cubes to make them look like real cubes! I set those aside, as they will take some time to dry.

Next, I ink blended some of the Catherine Pooler Pebble ink on the jar mug front piece. On the back piece of the jar mug, I ink blended a bit of Chiffon ink towards the bottom. For the lemons, I ink blended Chiffon and Limoncello inks to get a 3D look to them. For the straw and umbrella, I used Melon Ice ink. Then, on the umbrella, I also created dimension using some green Copic markers.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Jar Mug & Fresh Lemon Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Stitched Arch Dies)

I put 3D foam squares behind the mug and lemon and then attached it to my arch. I used glue to adhere the straw, ice cubes, lemon wedges and umbrella.

I stamped the “Summer Vibes” sentiment stamps from the Beach Bus Stamps on black cardstock with a WOW! Embossing ink pad. I applied some white embossing powder to it and then melted the powder using my heat tool. I die cut the “Summer” out with the coordinating dies. I used a paper trimmer to cut out the “Vibes” sentiment. I put 3D foam strips behind the sentiment and attached them to my card. To add a little bit of sparkle and fun, I added a few of the Iridescent Clear Jewels!

This card just screams “summer!” and I’m loving it! Thanks for stopping by the Sunny Studio Blog today!

Crisp Apple & Punny Apple Greetings Card with Alma

Hello my dears! This is Alma and today I want to show you my card featuring the wonderful Crisp Apple Dies. When I first saw them, I immediately thought of a delicious apple cider or an apple punch. Can you smell the card?

Sunny Studio Stamps: Crisp Apple & Punny Apple Greetings Card with Alma (featuring Comic Strip Speech Bubble Dies, Fresh Lemon Dies, Summer Jar Mug Dies)

I die-cut the apples and colored them with Copics. Then I transformed the Summer Jar Mug die into a fall-themed glass and colored that as well. The Fresh Lemon Dies were, of course, a must for my recipe, as they added a really tasty note to my autumn drink!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Crisp Apple & Punny Apple Greetings Card with Alma (featuring Comic Strip Speech Bubble Dies, Fresh Lemon Dies, Summer Jar Mug Dies)

For the card's frame, I used the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die. I blended the background with Distress Oxides and for the sentiment, I combined the Punny Apple Greeting Stamps with the "hugs" from the Scalloped Oval Mat 3 Dies

As a special touch, I glued a real cinnamon stick and a real star anise onto the card so you can all smell it too! Fall is here!
