Little Buckaroo Card with Cathy

Howdy friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share my take on the Little Buckaroo Stamps with a Southwestern scene! I had a ton of fun creating this by combining several stamp sets that you might not think of using for a desert scene.

I started this A2 card with an Arizona desert background. I created this by drawing the mountain landscape on a 3” x 6” piece of Eclipse masking tape. There’s nothing complicated to drawing this. I just looked at photos online and drew a very simple outline. I cut along the line with scissors leaving me with a mask for the mountains and a mask for the sky as pictured below:

I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock panel, placed the sky mask at the top and inked the mountains with Rusty Hinge and Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. I then masked the mountains and punched a circle in a piece of Eclipse masking tape for the sun. I inked the sun with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink and masked it as well before inking the sky with Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmon, Dried Marigold and Saltwater Taffy Distress inks. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Critter Campout Stamps with black embossing powder.

Next, I cut 2 pieces of white cardstock (2 1/4" x 5 1/2" and 2 1/2" x 5 1/2") and inked them with Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress inks. I die-cut the top edge of each piece using dies from the Slimline Nature Border Dies.

Since I tucked some images behind the hills, I waited to adhere them to the background panel. I stamped all images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used the following stamps:

I finished by tucking some of the stamped images behind the hill pieces and adhering everything as shown. I just love how some of the ocean themed stamps helped to bring this desert scene together! I hope this inspires you to look at your stamps in new ways and maybe find the unexpected.

Little Buckaroo Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here and today we are going on a fun camping trip! As usual I was browsing through my stash and I combined the cute cowgirl from Little Buckaroo with some adorable critters (Critter Campout). The mountain range from Country Scene was the perfect backdrop for this outdoor adventure.

All the images and the background were colored with Copic markers, and I added a few highlights with a white gel pen. To give the scene extra dimension, I cut an additional grassy border from white card stock and did some inking with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide and a blending brush. I drew little grass strokes with two dark green Copics.

After creating a white card base, I adhered the background panel with liquid glue, leaving a small border on all sides. The extra grass piece was mounted with foam tape, and then I added the tent and the campers.

Since I had quite a large portion of sky, I decided for a big ‘Howdy’ sentiment assembled by using the separate letters from the Chloe Alphabet. I die cut each letter twice from white paper and once from red to give them that extra pop of color. 

There was already so much going on in this fun scene that this card didn’t need any embellishments. Thank you for visiting the blog and I can’t wait to see your summer cards!

Little Buckaroo Card with Marine

Hi crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back on the blog with this lovely farm scene featuring Little Buckaroo. I had never colored those cute characters before so I was glad to finally get to do it!

As very often I started off by stamping those adorable cowgirl and cowboy, along with more images from other sets, on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers + Graph'it Brush markers.

So, in addition to the Little Buckaroo images, I picked:
- the barn from Farm Fresh
- the grass sprigs from Bunnyville
- the baby chicks from Clucky Chickens
- the horse + the bale of hay from Barnyard Buddies

Next I created the background. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used stencils from my stash along with oxide inks to do my landscape. At the very bottom I created a grass border using mowed lawn + rustic wilderness oxide inks. Right above it I used antique linen + vintage photo oxide inks to create some kind of a muddy/sandy section. Above it I did some mountains using rusty hinge + vintage photo oxide inks. And at the very top I did the sky using mustard seed + spiced marmalade oxide inks.

I attached all the images on my panel using 1mm + 2mm foam squares, stamped my "Greetings from the funny farm" sentiment from Barnyard Buddies in black in the top right hand corner, and finished the card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Little Buckaroo Card with Catherine

Howdy Crafty Friends! It’s Catherine! Today, I am sharing a friendship card created with Little Buckaroo Stamps inspired by one of my favourite movies … Can you guess which movie?

To start, I created a cloudy background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on A2 white cardstock using a stencil I made with Fluffy Clouds Border Dies. I splattered some blue watercolor onto the clouds. I added a few clouds with Fluffy Clouds Dies.

Next, I made a grassy border using the grass die from Picket Fence Die. I ink blended the grass border with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide. I sprayed some water and flicked some green watercolor for added interest. I added some grass using the grass stamp and dies from Chickie Baby Stamps. I adhered the clouds and grass border onto the background panel and added a stitch border along the edges.

I made blocks by die cutting 1” squares with a square die in my stash. I inked the center of each block with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and ink blended the borders with Festive Berries, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, and Dusty Concord Distress Oxides.

I die cut “FRIEND” out of white cardstock using Chloe Alphabet Dies and ink blended the letters with the same Distress Oxides.

I stamped the cowgirl and cowboy from Little Buckaroos Stamps, horse and pig from Barnyard Buddies Stamps, dog from Puppy Parents Stamps, and bear from Beach Buddies Stamps. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and I colored the images with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. I adhered all the images onto the background.

I finished off the card by adding “Howdy” by die cutting white cardstock with Loopy Letters Dies and ink blending the letters with Festive Berries Distress Oxide.
