Hello crafty
friends! It's Rachel from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I am so happy to be back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog
today with some apple-themed projects that feature new products from their
latest release. This release is absolutely gorgeous, so I hope you'll love it
as much as I do!
All of my cards
today feature the yummy new Crisp Apple Dies. For all of my cards, I die cut a variety
of both large and small apples from a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
110lb Card Stock. To add color, I then blended each apple with a combination of
Candied Apple, Lumberjack Plaid, Ground Espresso, and Scorched Timber Distress
Inks. I blended my darkest colors on the left side of my apples and worked my
way to the right with my lighter colors, leaving a very light spot on the top
left portion of the apple to give it more of a 3D appearance. I did the same
for my leaves, but used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink instead.
For my apple core
area, I die cut it from a piece of light beige card stock and lightly blended
the bottom left area of this piece with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink.
I then added a
rectangular layer of lattice and scalloped circles with a piece of white card
stock that I had die cut using the Frilly Frames Lattice Die Set. Next, I added a red circle
to which I adhered a white scalloped circle that I had die cut using the
beautiful Scalloped Circle Mat 3 Dies. Lastly, I added my apples with
some 3D foam adhesive tape as well as my sentiment (from the new Punny Apple Greetings Stamp Set) that I had heat embossed
to a strip of black card stock with some Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.
For my second
project, I combined the Crisp Apple Dies with the new Wooden Barrel Die Set. After ink-blending my apples, I went
ahead and die cut my wooden barrel from a piece of Kraft card stock. I then
added some shading my barrel by blending the vertical slats in the barrel with
some Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to give it more depth.
Next, I die cut my "metal" barrel pieces from some silver shine card
stock to make it look more realistic.
To give my
background some texture, I die cut my red background piece with the new Buffalo Plaid Straight Die and then layered it with a
piece of white card stock to which I had added some more texture using the Dotted Diamond Portrait Die. I also added a red scalloped
circle once again using the Scalloped Circle Mat 3 Dies and layered it with a
white stitched circle that I had die cut with the Stitched Circle Small Dies. To finish my card, I again heat
embossed my sentiment with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a banner
that I had die cut from red card stock using the Brilliant Banner 1 Die.
For my last card,
I combined the Crisp Apple Die Set with the previously released Slimline Scalloped Frame and Slimline Nature Border die sets. I also added some
cute little mice that I had stamped using both the Harvest Mice and Merry Mice clear stamp sets. I stamped my images with
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock,
colored them with Copic Markers, and used their coordinating die sets to cut
them out.
For my background
sky, I lightly blended some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and added some
spatters of diluted Copic Opaque White Paint and some light brown dots from
Copic Markers for added interest. I also added some white ink spatters to my
grass area after I had ink-blended it with some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I
stamped my sentiment from the Punny Apple Greetings Stamp Set onto the top
right corner with black ink and once again added my images with 3D foam
adhesive tape for a pop of dimension.
I hope you enjoyed
my cards today and will check out these amazing new products! Thanks so much
