Guest Designer Spotlight: Fun Summer Cards with Anita Madden

Hello everyone!  It's Anita here today and I’m so excited to be joining Sunny Studio Stamps once again as a guest designer!

Sunny Studio Stamps Summer Island Getaway Monkey Card by Anita Madden.

I used the adorable Island Getaway stamps for this card.  That monkey in the bikini is just too cute, right?  I colored the images with copics and then cut everything out with the coordinating Island Getaway dies.  For my background, I cut a piece of watercolor paper with a stitched rectangle die and sponged on some distress inks.  I flicked some water drops on the paper, let it sit for several seconds, and then dried the water with a clean towel.  I adhered all the images with foam dots for dimension and then added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Sunny Studio Stamps Island Getaway Summer Flip Flops Card by Anita Madden.

Once again I used the Island Getaway stamp set but went with a very clean and easy card!  I stamped the flip flops onto some Neenah cardstock, colored then with copics, and then cut them out with the coordinating Island Getaway dies.  I also used the tiny flowers from the stamp set to decorate the flip flops.  I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the flowers so they sparkle.  I used some bright pattern paper in summer colors and added a few matching enamel dots.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Fresh & Fruity Card by Anita Madden.

I used the sweet Fresh & Fruity stamp set for my next card.  I love all the different fruits in this set and the sentiments are perfect for so many different occasions.  I colored all the fruit with copics and then cut all of them using the coordinating Fresh & Fruity dies.  For my background, I cut a piece of watercolor paper with a stitched rectangle die and applied distress ink with lots of water for a splash of bright color.  I adhered the fruit with foam dots and then added a few sparkly sequins.

For my last card I used the Fresh & Fruity stamps to make another quick and easy card.  I colored all the fruit with my Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I mounted stitched squares onto some green cardstock and then adhered the fruit with foam dots for dimension.  The cute sentiment is one of many that are included in this set.  To finish my card, I simply wrapped some baker’s twine around the top and tied a bow.

Didn't Anita do a fabulous job?!  I am loving every single one of these happy cards!  Love her bright, happy colors and her awesome coloring skills!  Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us!  :)

A Summer Picnic Card with Lexa

Hello!  Lexa here with a picnic scene card with all the little details starring Summer Picnic stamp set and coordinating dies. I love everything about this set, so many elements to compliment your cards or projects. Here's my card for today...

Sunny Studio Stamps: A Summer Picnic Watercolor Card by Lexa Levana.

I started by cutting two pieces of white cardstock in 4.25" x 5.5".  For the first piece, I blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create my clear blue sky.  For the second one, I die-cut it with a cloud border die and applied Crushed Olive Distress Ink for the grass using the negative portion of a grassy border die-cut as a mask.

I colored all the images with watercolor and Distress Markers before I arranged them all together to create the scene. The picnic mat is paper pieced in a red plaid patterned paper. If you look closer, you will see that I did some detail for the picnic basket. I cut the line exactly above the cloth so I can tuck in some of the fruits as if they were inside the basket. ;)

Sunny Studio Stamps: A Summer Picnic Watercolor Card by Lexa Levana.

Last step is stamp some of the ants and the sentiment to match the scene. It was so much fun to create this card. I hope you all have a great day!

A Summer Picnic Shaker Card with Vanessa

Hello everyone! Vanessa here with a fun shaker card. I love all the little elements from the Summer Picnic set and thought they would make a perfect filling for a shaker window:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic Even The Best Picnics have a few Ants Shaker Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

I trimmed a panel of patterned paper slightly smaller than my Kraft card base and die-cut the circle from it. Then I stamped the ants around it, adhered a piece of clear cardstock behind the window and backed the panel with fun foam to create a shaker space. I stamped, colored and die-cut the various fruits and filled the window with them, together with colorful sequins. Now I closed the window with a piece of white cardstock and adhered the panel to the card. Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it.

What do you think? I hope you like this idea, I had so much fun creating it :)
Thanks for stopping by today!

Summer Picnic Basket of Birthday Wishes Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here!  Today I'm sharing a card using the new Summer Picnic stamp set. When I saw this set, I knew I was going to create a card using the cute little ants. It makes such a sweet card for a summer birthday.

Sunny Studio: Summer Picnic Basket of Birthday Wishes Ant Card by Lindsey Bailey.

I used three different size rectangles to create this card. The largest is an A2 size. I did my stamping on the smallest of the three. I created a little scene with the ants delivering their food to the picnic basket for the little squirrel's birthday. Ha ha! It was a pretty simple card to make once I had all the little images lined up in the right spots. I didn't even have to do any masking. I just lined up the ants under the food and set the squirrel on top of the basket handle. Everything fit perfectly. I drew in some grass and colored everything with Copic markers. I stamped the clever little sentiment in the top left corner and the card was done!

I hope you'll check out the Summer Picnic set, and maybe even try your own version of this card. I love to see what everyone creates! Thanks for reading.

A Summer Picnic Card with Anni

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Can't you wait for the summer to start? There are so many fun things you can do: Swimming, staying at the beach... AND have a picnic! If you like picnics you will LOVE this set called Summer Picnic. It is awesome!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic Card by Anni.

I stamped, colored and die-cut way more food than you can see here. I like to prepare more images than I use in the end. That way I can arrange them as I want and have a lot of opportunities.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic Card by Anni.

I used a piece of patterned paper as a picnic blanket and arranged all the food. It looks yummy, doesn't it?  To emphasize the focal point I added some ink blending to my background.  I stamped the sentiment and that finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny week.

Summer Picnic & Sunny Sentiments Let's do Lunch Card by Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here today to feature the new Summer Picnic stamp set. I love this stamp set with so many images to colour in and to create fun scenes. This set has so many great uses and it mixes in well with lots of the other stamp sets that have been released as well. It’s super fun!

Today I’m going to be creating a scene using a ton of the fun images included in this set along with the previously released stamp set called Sunny Sentiments to create a fun sort of lunch date card for a friend or family member.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic & Sunny Sentiments Let's do Lunch Card by Eloise Blue.

To start off this card I first stamped out pretty much all of the image stamps included in the Summer Picnic stamp set. I used some black ink along with some white cardstock. I decided for this card I would use some Copic markers to colour them in. Once they were all coloured in, I cut them all out. This set along with other sets have coordinating dies too, which makes it super easy! Once they’re all cut out I decided to work on the background. I cut down a piece of card stock and first started off with the sky. For this I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress ink. I then moved onto the grass. For this I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. Once the grass was coloured I used the grass stamp from the Sunny Sentiments set and stamped it onto the green piece. I then used my scissors to cut along the black line. To complete the sky and grass pieces I also flicked on some water to create a water splotch effect.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic & Sunny Sentiments Let's do Lunch Card by Eloise Blue.

Once the piece had dried I moved on to creating my scene. I placed all my images onto the card first before I adhered them down to know the placement. Once I was happy with it I started adhering pieces down. I used some liquid glue and foam adhesive to do so to give varying heights. Once everything was glued together including the sky and grass piece I took the ‘let’s do lunch’ sentiment from the same Summer Picnic stamp set and stamped that onto the sky with some more black ink. I then adhered the whole panel onto a white card base. I decided to add some clouds from the Sunny Sentiments set also because I thought the sky needed something a little extra. That finished up my card.

I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to stop by tomorrow and check out another project using this super fun Summer Picnic stamp set!

Fresh & Fruity Life Is Sweeter with Friends Card by Lexa

Hi everyone!

Lexa here today with a sweet fruity card using the brand new Fresh & Fruity set. I love this set a little bit too much, those adorable looking fruits are irresistible. I made a one layer card, stamping all of them in random position. Then I add smiley faces before watercoloring all the images.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Life Is Sweeter with Friends Fruit Card by Lexa Levana.

I use my Gansai Tambi for this one--the vibrant colors are perfect for this!  I also stamped a few little hearts from Comfy Creatures to fill in empty spaces. After I finished coloring all my images, I also did the same thing for the background. For a final touch, I splash some white ink all over the card. It's a random thing, but it's absolutely my thing. LOL!

I tied yellow thin string on top of my card to match the yellow lemon. Lastly, I adhered the card to a piece of black cardstock. I hope you enjoy today's card.  Have a sweet day! <3

Fresh & Fruity Sweet Cherries Watercolor Card with Vanessa

Hi sweet Sunny Studio friends! Vanessa here with a cherry sweet card using Fresh & Fruity. This set is so yummy!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Sweet Friend Cherries Watercolor Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

For my card, I wanted to focus on the sweet cherries from the set. First, I covered the card with patterned paper. Now I stamped the cherry image repeatedly with Versamark ink onto a panel of watercolor paper and heat-embossed the cherries using white embossing powder. Then I colored them with watercolors. Now I stamped the sentiment, trimmed the panel to become a bit narrower than the card base and adhered it to the card with foam tape. Finally, I added matching sequins.

Mmm, I would love to eat a bowl of cherries now! I hope you liked today's inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

Fresh & Fruity Mother's Day Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here with a card using the Fresh and Fruity stamp set. This set is so versatile because it has so many cute sentiments and adorable fruit images. I combined this set with the panda from Comfy Creatures to create a fun Mother's Day card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Mother's Day Card by Lindsey Bailey (using Watermelon from Fresh & Fruity and Pandas from Comfy Creatures)

I started with an A2 size card base and stamped the watermelon image in diagonal lines to create my own patterned paper. Then I colored all the watermelons with Copic markers. I used some stitched circle stackables to create a place for my mommy and daughter panda to sit. I stamped and colored the pandas, then fussy cut them out leaving a small white border. There are also dies for the Comfy Creatures set if you don't like fussy cutting.

I stamped my sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card. Since the sentiment was three different stamps, I decided to stamp the word "sweeter" with a pink dye ink to add a little interest. Lastly, I went over all the watermelons and the red frame around the pandas with my Wink of Stella glitter pen to add a little sparkle.

Thanks for reading and I hope you'll check out this cute set. With so many different fruits and sentiments, the possibilities are endless!

Fresh & Fruity Tags, Tags, Tags by Anni

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Pear, Lemon, Strawberry, Cherry Watermelon Gift Tags by Anni.

Hey stampers, Anni here!  I have a lot of yummy tags for you today!

I couldn`t decide which one of the fruits of the new fanastic set called Fresh & Fruity to use so I used them all and made a bunch of simple tags.

I used the same layout for every tag. That made creating fast and simple.  I started with stamping, coloring with Copics and fussy cutting all the fruit images.  In my stash of patterned paper I found a matching strip of paper for every tag.

The set is full of punny sentiments. I stamped them with Versafine for a crisp impression.  I finished with twine in a matching color.

When I make several cards or tags with the same set and layout I always try to do one step for all the projects at once, for example: die cutting all the tags, coloring all the images, cutting all the stripes of patterned paper.

I hope you like all the Fresh & Fruity tags!

Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny week!

Fresh & Fruity Sweet Friend Fruit Card with Eloise

Hello everyone, Eloise here and today I’m going to be featuring the new Fresh and Fruity stamp set. For today's card I’m going to be watercolouring the images and creating a fun background.

Sunny Studio: Fresh & Fruity Sweet Friend Fruit Card by Eloise Blue.

To start off my card today I used some black ink to stamp out all of my images I wanted to use from the Fresh and Fruity stamp set onto some watercolour paper - this was just done randomly. I start off with larger images first and then fill in with smaller ones. I then clear embossed over the images, as I want the watercolour to stay contained within the images. For my water colouring today I’m using the Dr. Ph Martin Hydrus watercolours. These images are so super fun to colour with watercolour! Once they were all watercoloured, I set the piece aside to dry. I then stamped out the fun sentiment from the same Fresh and Fruity set. I love the two styles of writing together, it’s so pretty! I cut that piece at an angle for a fun effect on the card. I then adhered it to watercoloured piece.

Sunny Studio: Fresh & Fruity Sweet Friend Fruit Card by Eloise Blue

To finish up the card, I cut down some green cardstock and adhered it to a card base. I then mounted my panel onto some fun foam and then adhered that piece down to the card base also. For a last finishing touch I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen on some images and then some clear sequins and adhered them onto my background also.

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure you check out tomorrow for some more inspiration using this Fresh and Fruity stamp set!

Guest Designer Spotlight: An Island Getaway with Stephanie Klauck

Hello, it's Stephanie here and I am so excited to be guest designing on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today! For my card, I used the new Island Getaway stamp set and paired it with the Happy Home stamp set to create a little tropical paradise. ;)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Getaway and Happy Home Beach Bungalow card by Stephanie Klauck.

To create my card, I first stamped all the images I wanted to include on my card onto white cardstock with black ink. I coloured all of the images on with Copic markers and then I cut them all out with my scissors. I arranged all of the cut out pieces onto a white cardstock panel to decide how I wanted my scene to look and then I adhered everything with down with adhesive. I positioned everything on the right side of the card and let the leaves of the palm tree hang slightly off the edge for a fun look.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Getaway and Happy Home Beach Bungalow card by Stephanie Klauck.

Once I had everything adhered to the panel, I added it to a grey top-folding card base. To add some extra detail and dimension, I added some clear glitter with a Wink of Stella glitter marker to the flowers and the flip flops. I also added Glossy Accents to the flip flip straps and the centers of the flowers. I stamped part of the sentiment on the sandy beach and then stamped the rest of it on the white cardstock panel, directly under the sandy area. To complete the card, I added some clear sequins scattered around my scene with silver Stickles in the centers.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today!

Tropical Paradise Sunshiny Day Card with Lexa

Hello everyone!  Lexa here with a bright card using the Tropical Paradise stamp set with a fresh fruity drink as the star. You will in love with this set as it has lots of fun and pretty images.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Sunshiny Day Card by Lexa Levana.

I started with my 4.25"x5.5" white cardstock, and blended Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade together with a grid stencil. As you know that Distress Inks are react well with water so I splashed some onto my cardstock using a wet brush to create the faded effect.

For my images, I stamped them with Black Onyx Versafine (this is my favorite ink for watercolor) and colored them with Distress Markers using watercolor technique. I colored the glass of fruit punch as how I usually see in real life, it has a beautiful ombre color. To add an extra something, I added some flowers and a pineapple as well.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Sunshiny Day Card by Lexa Levana.

Before I arranged all the pieces together, I stamped the sentiment with the same black ink for a crisp and bold look against the colorful background. I also used some hearts in two different size with pink and orange dye inks. Finally to adhere all the bits together, I added different heights with foam tapes to create fun dimension.

Thanks for looking. I wish you a sunshiny day even it isn't summer yet! :)

Tropical Paradise Soak Up The Sun Flamingo Card with Lindsey

Hi!  Lindsey here today with a card using the adorable set, Tropical Paradise. When I saw this set, I knew that I was going to have to use the adorable flamingo couple!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Soak Up The Sun Flamingo Card by Lindsey Bailey.

I made a one layer card by stamping the flamingo pair in the bottom right corner of the card. Then, I stamped a trail of tropical flowers from the top left to bottom right of the card. I finished the stamping by adding the sentiment to the bottom left side of the card. I used Copic markers to create a little pool for the flamingos to stand in and added a few sequins to make my card really sparkle. Finally, I used foam tape to pop my scene up on a striped piece of purple paper.  I just love all the cute tropical themed images in this set!

Tropical Paradise Sending You Sunshine Card by Anni

Hey stampers, Anni here!

This week we are showcasing another fabulous summer set here on the Sunny Studio blog. The Sunshine Word Die goes perfectly with this set called Tropical Paradise.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Sending You Sunshine Card by Anni Lerche.

For this card I stamped, colored with copics and fussy cut the image. You can also get matching dies for this stamp set. But in this particular case I wanted the image without a white border.  By the way I am one of the weird people who loves to fussy cut. I find it quiet relaxing.

After I finished my image I die-cut the sentiment several times from coral cardstock and one time from white card stock. I stacked them up for more dimension. Then I sponged one edge of my card base to get some contrast and color. For finishing touches I added some sequins and glossy accents the glass.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Sending You Sunshine Card by Anni Lerche.

I am getting a little bit thirsty looking at this cocktail, aren't you?

Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny week.

Tropical Paradise You Are My Sunshine Hibiscus Card with Eloise

Hello everyone, Eloise here. Today I’m featuring the new Tropical Paradise stamp set, along with a couple of older products - the Sunshine Die and Sunny Sentiments stamp set. This new Tropical Paradise stamp set is so fun and great for colouring.

Sunny Studio: Hibiscus Flower You Are My Sunshine Card by Eloise Blue (using Tropical Paradise, Sunny Sentiments and Sunshine Word die).

To begin my card I stamped out all of my images that I wanted to use from the Tropical Paradise set with black ink on some white cardstock and used various colours of Copic Markers to colour them all in. I then cut them all out. I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 3 3/4” x 5 1/8”. I then arranged all of my images onto the white cardstock the way I wanted them to sit. Before adhering them all down I took the ‘You are my’ sentiment from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set and grabbed some black ink and stamped it down into the area where I knew I wanted the sentiment. I then used a mixture of foam adhesive and liquid adhesive to adhere down my flowers and leaves in a pattern.

Sunny Studio: Hibiscus Flower You Are My Sunshine Card by Eloise Blue (using Tropical Paradise, Sunny Sentiments and Sunshine Word die).

Once all of my images were adhered down. I took the Sunshine Word Die and ran it through my Big Shot machine. I used some yellow cardstock and then also with some black fun foam. I adhered the yellow piece to the black fun foam with some liquid glue and then adhered it down onto my white cardstock in between the arrangement of flowers. I then took some more of the same yellow cardstock and covered my card base up and then used some fun foam to adhere the panel onto my card base.

For a finishing touch I used some Wink of Stella glitter pen to put over some of the flowers and the sunshine sentiment and then some clear sequins to scatter around the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you check out the blog tomorrow for more inspiration using the Tropical Paradise set!
