Greetings! It’s Bobbi here sharing a few fishes …. I mean wishes! I am using the new Ocean View stamps and coordinating dies to create this 5″ X 7″ ocean scene card.
To make the card, I started by applying Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen, blending the colors together in between. I splattered water over the ink and blotted it with a paper towel to lift ink for a splotchy look.
I stamped
all the elements from the stamp set and cut them. I colored them using the following colors:
Greens:
YG67, YG03, YG00, G89
Browns:
E47, E44, E55, E50, E43, E42
Blue-Greens:
BG72, BG13, BG11, BG10
Blues:
B00, B000
Orange-Yellows:
YR68, YR65, YR00
Reds:
R89, R29, R17, R05
Yellows:
Y21
Grays:
W1, W2, W3, W5, W9, C3, C1
I added a sweet rose pattern print to the umbrellas. Once all the images were colored, I placed them on the ink-blended background to create the foreground scene. I attached the two clouds, the crab, and beach chair/umbrella using Scrapbook Adhesives foam tabs to make them stand out.

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a sunset card featuring the Ocean View Stamps and Ocean View Dies. I had a lot of fun creating this card. I find making sunset cards challenging but the end result is worth it!
For the sunset, I didn’t want to have a harsh line between the sun reflection
and the ocean so I covered the top ocean wave of the Beach Border with Trees
and Chair stamp with tape. After I inked the stamp, I removed the tape and
stamped the image onto White Cardstock 4.25” x 5.5.” I then die cut the
coordinating die from Ocean View Dies with masking paper. For the sun, I die
cut the third smallest circle from Stitched
Circle Small Dies with masking paper. I covered the stamped image with
the masking paper and then laid the sun on top slightly overlapping the stamped
image.
Starting from the top edge of the masking paper, I ink blended the sky
with Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide around the circle working
my way upwards to the top edge of the cardstock. I then added Milled Lavender
and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide. I gently removed the masks and inked the sun
with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide letting the brush touch the water part of
the image. I added Squeeze Lemonade Distress Oxide around the sun.
For the ocean, I used the following Copic Marker colors: B04, B02, B01, B00, B000. I drew
small squiggly circles at the edges of the waves with a white gelly roll pen. I coloured the sand with E34, E31, and E30 and added specks with a white
gelly roll.
Along with the cute crab from the set, I added friends and a beach chair
from Kiddie
Pool Stamps, sand shovel from Beach
Babies Stamps, and some white die cut birds from Tropical
Trees Backdrop Die.
For the sentiments, I white heat embossed sentiments from Wedded
Bliss and Beach
Babies onto white cardstock ink blended with Dried Marigold Distress
Oxide. To finish off the card, I used a die cut banner from Stitched
Rectangle Dies to add a white frame around the sentiment.
