Merry Mice Mouse Christmas Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Merry Mice Stamps.

For my first card today, I paired the mouse with cheese and mouse in the stocking images from the Merry Mice Stamps with our Fireplace Shaped Dies. This die set comes with all the pieces for stockings, wood logs, and flames, which I often like to use with this set, but this time I chose to simplify my card design to make it easier for mass production. To decorate my fireplace, I used Lawn Fawn's Brick Stencil with Lost Shadow Distress ink. I thought it would be fun to add a festive flair with some Tim Holtz Pine Twine from my stash, so I popped the stockings up with foam tape to compensate for the thickness of the garland. I also stamped the words "Mom," "Dad," and "Sister" on the cuffs of the stockings using the Outback Critter Stamps.

My second card featuring the Merry Mice Stamps utilizes the cheese trees, a snowman mouse, two mice, and their winter gear. For the base of my card, I trimmed a colorful, diagonally striped print from the All is Bright Paper pack and then layered it with a lengthened Rounded Rectangle Mat Die cut from white cardstock. I elongated the rectangle by trimming off the bottom and adding a sentiment pennant strip to fill the gap using a die from the Slimline Pennant Dies set. I also added the colorful strand of hanging lights from the Scenic Route Stamps and a snowy hillside with the Slimline Nature Border Dies. This card utilized many scraps and leftover elements on my desk, so seeing it all fall together so easily was fun. I love it when that happens!

My last card today started with the red gingham background I created when playing around and experimenting with our Buffalo Plaid Embossing Folder one afternoon. I wanted to create a card that allowed as much of the background as possible to show through, so I framed my focal point images by stacking the Stitched Circle Small Dies, Scalloped Circle Mat 3 Dies, and Scalloped Circle Mat 1 Dies (listed from top to bottom). For the stars of the show, I grouped the mouse in the mug from the Merry Mice Stamps, the mug from the Merry Mocha Stamps, the peppermints from the Candy Shoppe Stamps, and the candy cane from the Roly Poly Penguins Stamps. Lastly, I heat-embossed my punny greeting from the Merry Mice set onto a green banner cut using the Brilliant Banner 2 Dies.

Here's a look at how I trimmed masking sheets to isolate each row of the Buffalo Plaid Embossing Folder and inked them row by row with Candied Apple distress ink using the PinkFresh Studio Blending Brushes. I can't believe we've had these embossing folders for years, but it took me this long to discover this new way to use them. I will use this technique more in the future, as it didn't take too long, but I love the results!

Santa Claus Lane Tags with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with a trio of Christmas tags I made with a mix & match of images from different sets. I really like making tags all year round, and the last ones go back to the 4th of July, so it was extra fun to put these together after all this time.

I started off by cutting three tag panels using the largest Scalloped Tag Square die and three different pattern papers from the Polka Dot Parade paper pack. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and added white splatters on the three panels, and then did the same with liquid stardust for sparkles. I cut three more tag panels out of white cardstock, and attached a polka dot panel to a white panel using liquid glue.

Next I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, I cut them all with the coordinating dies and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers in a non-traditional holiday color palette. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Cozy Christmas - Christmas trees, presents • Reindeer Games - Santa • North Pole - nice list, Santa • Santa Claus Lane - presents, sack, Santa • Snowmen In Sweaters - snowflakes.

Once the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to my images using a white gel pen, added a dot of glossy accents to each light in the Christmas trees to make them shine, and then attached my images on each tag using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, creating three super cute little scenes.

I used the Build A Greeting Holidays stamp set to stamp my sentiments: "Happy Holidays", "Merry Christmas" and "Season's Greetings". I added silver twine through the hole at the top of each tag, and then glued sparkling double bows to finish them nicely.

Snow One Like You Card with Tina

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here and today we are creating a sweet holiday card with the adorable Snow One Like You stamp and die set. I love that the cute girl and her snowman!

I colored this image with my Copics and added white highlights with a gel pen. Next, I pulled a red card base from my stash and cut a white panel with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Chevron set. We will use this piece to build the entire background of this scene card.

To start, I stamped the tree scene from Scenic Route directly on to this panel and used my Copics again for the coloring. To mimic the snow on the trees I added a bunch of fine lines with my white gel pen. I repeated this step on a separate piece of white card stock, but this time I only focused on the lower three pines. I used my scissors to fussy cut these trees, traced the outline with a black marker and glued them to the left of the panel filling in that part of the scene.

I wanted a dramatic sky, which I created with a cloud stencil from my stash and a combo of Saltwater Taffy and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks. After mounting the girl and her snowman to the scene, I added lots of white snowflakes with a white paint marker.

My sentiment was pulled from the Inside Greetings Holiday set and stamped on a white banner with Versafine Onyx Black ink. To add more interest to the sky I added lots of little white stars (Snowflake Circle Frame die).

Classy Christmas Card with Amanda

Hello there, friends! It’s Amanda with you on the blog today and I’m here to share a beautiful holiday card with you!

This card features the absolutely stunning Classy Christmas Stamps which has poinsettias, pinecones, leaves, and berries! They are beautiful and so fun to mix and match to create different kinds of layouts! For my layout, I stamped all 3 flowers, all of the leaves, and 3 berries. I colored the images in with Copic markers. Here are the markers I used:

R32, R35, R37, R56, R59, R85
G43, G46, G85

Then, I cut them out with the coordinating Classy Christmas Dies. To create my card base, I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to 5.5”x8.5” and then scored it in the center and folded it. My red background paper is from the All is Bright Paper set. I trimmed that paper to 4”x5.25” and then glued it to my card base.

Next, I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to 3.5”x4.75”. Before adhering this paper to the card, I ink blended a small amount of Catherine Pooler Rouge ink in the lower left corner. I lightly blended it, working my way out to the edges. Then, I glued it to my card base. I placed 3D foam squares behind all of the stamped images and then arranged them in the lower left corner of the panel. I placed the pointsettias first and then worked my way around.

On some black cardstock, I stamped my sentiments from the Build-a-Greetings Holiday Stamps with a WOW! Embossing ink pad and then sprinkled white embossing powder on it. I melted the powder with my heat tool. Once completely dry, I trimmed my sentiments down into strips, using my scissors to create a banner edge. Then, I put 3D foam strips behind them and added them to the card. 

The final step was to add some gold dots with a gold Gelly Roll pen. I added them to the center of each flower and around the background.

Gingerbread House Holiday Cards & Gift Boxes with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some shaped Christmas cards featuring our Gingerbread House Dies. 

These fun cards measure 4-3/8" wide x 4" high. Several of the elements, like the roof, scalloped trim, the body of the house, and the foundation, all cut out in one pass, so I figured to keep pieces from going to waste, I would cut them out of kraft, red, and pink cardstock and then mix & match the pieces. I also sat and cut many of the decorative elements from small leftover scraps of white cardstock and then colored them with distress inks or Copic markers over a glass mat that was easy to clean up afterward. This allowed me to choose colors as I was assembling them and to give the shapes more shading and highlights, like I did for the gumdrops and doors that all started out as white cardstock. This was my first time using the dies this way, and I love how the woodgrain of the door was accentuated with the distress inks. It also meant I didn't have many leftover pieces since the door and the frame cut out together, and I wanted the door frame to be white to match the windows.

For my first card, I crafted a pink house using the Gingerbread House Dies, with a wreath and bow added from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies and loopy trim from the Icing Border Dies. The cute little gingerbread man and girl from our Christmas Cookies Stamps and Baking Spirits Bright Stamps perfectly complement these houses.

Next, I have a more traditionally colored Gingerbread House. This time, I colored the candy decorations in a rainbow of colors using my Copic Markers and accents with a white gel pen. My candy canes started out as solid white. I could have cut another one from red and pieced them together entirely from cardstock, but I found it much quicker to just use the embossed stripes to trace and fill them in with my markers to match. I also utilized some different windows from the die set for this particular card.

My last Gingerbread House card uses many of the same elements as the others, with the wreath from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies. However, this time, instead of adding decorative elements along the scalloped trim of the house, I adhered rows of scallops to the roof using the Icing Border Dies. This versatile die set comes with a third adorable border that I didn't get around to using today, but also complements the gingerbread houses so well.

Before I go, I wanted to share how easy it is to turn your shaped cards into shaped holiday gift boxes instead by cutting two of the outer house base shapes and adhering them together on either side with some scored cardstock. Isn't it so cute?! This is the perfect way to dress up a gift card or give small gifts like jewelry, soaps, and candy.

To take some of the guesswork out of measuring, I created a custom SVG cut file for use with a Silhouette or Cricut machine to make boxes of your own. It has been sized just right to work with our Gingerbread House dies, which you can download HERE. This is a visual example of a couple of cutouts illustrating where to score using a scoring board. To download the cut file from the Dropbox link, click "file" at the top left corner of the screen and select "download" from the dropdown menu (or click the downward arrow button at the top right).
