Santa's Stocking & Woolen Mitten Shaped Holiday Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some shaped Christmas cards for giving gift cards featuring our Santa's Stocking Dies and Woolen Mitten Dies.

For my first card, I created a fairisle print for our Santa's Stocking Dies using the decorative elements from the Woolen Mitten Dies and the thinnest stitched pennant strip from the Slimline Pennant Dies. I added the aqua hearts in the center of each fairisle motif using the smallest heart from the Basic Mini Shape 2 Dies. To create my pocket for the gift card, I cut two stockings from white cardstock and used a thin line of liquid adhesive around the outside edge to adhere the two pieces together. I stamped a customized "May your Christmas be wrapped in joy" greeting from our new Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamps onto the cuff using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added highlights to the bow and candy canes from the Santa's Stocking set with a white gel pen.

I created mitten gift card pockets for my second set of cards today, featuring the Woolen Mitten Dies. This cute and simple design is easy to mass produce for holiday gift giving, whether cash or gift cards. To add a touch of realism to my mittens, I embossed the top piece using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder and inked the edges with a coordinating Gina K. Turquoise Sea and PinkFresh Studio Raspberry Bliss inks. I found the perfect sentiment from the Inside Greetings Seasons Stamps, which I stamped onto a Scalloped Heart Die cut from white cardstock. I added a small coordinating stitched heart to fill the space below the greeting from the Warm & Cozy Dies. Lastly, I embellished the cuff with a snowflake and assembled button that comes with the Woolen Mittens set. I love how realistic these buttons look, but they are much slimmer for mailing!  Also, today's cards all can fit A2-sized envelopes (aside from the popped-up candy canes).

Cozy Christmas & Cat Antics Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back with this new busy slimline card featuring some cheeky kitties on Christmas night. They're all gathered around the fireplace, napping, chilling and waiting for Santa to bring more presents! Let's hope that the Christmas tree stays up a few more minutes!

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, I cut them all with the coordinating dies, and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers.

As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Cat Antics - cats, balls of yarn • Cozy Christmas - Christmas tree, armchairs, glass of milk, side tables, lamps, presents, cushion • Santa Claus Lane - fireplace, presents, stockings • Purrfect Birthday - mouse toy • North Pole - cookies • Penguin Party - hats • Bunnyville - carrot.

For the armchairs, I stamped them a second time on a Joyful Holiday gingham red paper, fussy cut them, added shadows to each piece using red markers and then attached each red armchair to a white one. This way we have a nice pattern on the armchairs and still have the white border around the images. When all the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and added a dot of glossy accents to each light in the Christmas tree.

Next I cut a slimline panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using a Slimlime Scalloped Frame die, masked the stitched edges off with washi tape, and divided it in two parts using washi tape again to create wallpaper on the upper section and the floor on the lower section. I first covered the top section with tattered rose oxide ink, and then created a vertical stripe pattern using the Straight Stripes stencil along with saltwater taffy oxide ink. I mixed some of that ink with water and added splatters to my panel, I did the same with festive berries oxide ink for more contrast, the same with copic opaque white ink for brightness and then the same again with liquid stardust because every Christmas scene needs sparkles!

Next I covered the floor section with antique linen oxide ink, added a bit of vintage photo oxide ink at the very bottom of my panel and blended the colors with my antique linen blending tool. I mixed some vintage photo oxide ink with water and added brown splatters to the floor section, and then did the same with white ink.

When my panel was dry, I stamped my "Wishing you a purrfect Christmas" greeting in black right in the top center of my panel. "Wishing you a purrfect" is from Birthday Cat and "Christmas" is from Santa Claus Lane. Next I attached all the images on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

I attached my panel to an 8 x 3 inches kraft panel using 1mm foam tape. I cut a scalloped panel out of yellow cardstock using another Slimline Scalloped Frame die and stuck the kraft panel to it using liquid, and then I attached my yellow panel to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches red card base using 1mm foam tape.

Sweater Vest Die Focused Card with Tina

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here and you know I love the holiday season! But there was still one thing on my wish list, you guessed it … a cute Christmas vest! Today I made just that with the versatile Sweater Vest dies. This set offers a bunch of design options and I went for a more girly look in the classic red, teal and pink colors.

The base vest was cut from two red papers (one gingham, the other snowflakes, Joyful Holiday pack). I went with a V-neck, extra white trim and a pink collar. The same white and pink accents were repeated along the border. I used liquid glue to assemble the vest.

My focal point is a mini wreath which I made with the small branches from the Winter Greenery dies. I cut a bunch of these from teal, pink and light blue papers. To get that wreath shape, I cut a circle frame using two dies from the Nesting Circles Infinity set. Now all you have to do is glue the branches to this base, alternating between the three colors while you layer them.

Of course I had to add a cute critter, and the Roly Poly Penguins were the perfect size for this wreath. I used my Copics for the coloring and added white highlights with my gel pen.

Before adhering the wreath to the vest, I wanted to tone done the red of the background by adding a circle of vellum (cut with the largest of the Nesting Circles Infinity dies I had used before). I glued the vellum to the back of the wreath and glued the whole piece to the gingham vest. Next, I selected a sentiment from the Victorian Christmas set and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a small white banner. Finally, I used foam tape to mount the penguin and sentiment strip to the vest. To add some festive Christmas bling, I opted to glue several Pink Spinel Jewels to the buttons and border.

Penguin Party Card with Amanda

Hey crafty friends! It’s Amanda here today with you on the blog this lovely Tuesday to share a really “fun & festive” holiday card!

This card is so bright and cheery because of the Joyful Holiday Paper! I planned the entire card around that super fun paper pack! I trimmed the red and pink striped paper down to 4.25” x 5.25” to use as my background panel. The pink snowflake paper is trimmed to 3.75” x 5”. I glued both of these panels together onto an A2 card base.

The arched panel was created using the Stitched Arch Dies and a piece of white cardstock. On this panel, I stamped the hilly trees stamp from the Scenic Route Stamps. This set has the BEST winter backgrounds! I love it!

I used some low tack masking tape to create a mask so I could ink blend the sky. I used Cummerbund and All That Jazz from Catherine Pooler to create the sky. Then, I stamped my sentiment from the Penguin Party Stamps directly onto the sky with black ink.

Then, I stamped my penguins and gift boxes from the Penguin Party Stamps onto white cardstock. Next, it’s time to color everything! I colored my background and images using Copic Markers.

I used a combo of these markers all throughout the scene:

RV10, RV13, RV14, RV17, RV19
YR04, YR09, YR21
YG01, YG06, YG17
N1, N3, N6, N8

I used the coordinating Penguin Party Dies to cut out the penguins and gifts. Then, I put 3D foam squares behind them and added them to the arched panel. I also put 3D foam strips behind the arch panel and added it to the center of the card base. Finally, I added snow with some white acrylic paint!
