Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some cards featuring our Sledding By Stamps and Cruising Critters Stamps. Both of these sets feature a pile of critters in a mode of transportation, so I thought it would be fun to share both a fall and holiday take as we transition between the seasons.
For my first card today, I focused on the adorable critters piled in the sled from our Sledding Critters Stamps. I googled vintage horse-pulled sleighs and noticed a number of them were painted black with red velvet-lined seats so as I started coloring, I found myself limiting my colors to neutrals with touches of Red, White, Blue, and a bit of a rosy pink (which is actually just a lighter version of the red tones). For the background of my card, I inked up a white cardstock panel using a light touch of Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink with the PinkFresh Studio Blending Brushes.
I then stamped the snowflakes around the perimeter of my card using the Snow Flurries Stamps. These mini 2x3 background stamps were designed to line up and stamp multiple times in a grid pattern across a card background to create a seamless background of any size for a great price. However, they also have the added flexibility of stamping around the edges like a frame to keep the center of the card open without having to creatively mask things off for the sentiment like I did here. I added the snowy hillside using the Slimline Nature Border Dies cut from white cardstock and then added my greeting using the stamps from the set and the coordinating "sledding" word from the Sledding By Dies. Lastly, I felt like my card needed a little something to visually balance out the right side of the card, given the angled tilt of my sleigh and sentiment, so I added a red snowflake to my sleigh from the Snowflake Circle Frame Dies.
For my second card showcasing a carload of animals using the
Cruising Critters Stamps, I created a fall backdrop for the scenic drive, using the tree-lined border from the
Country Scenes Stamps and the cobblestone street from the
Sprawling Surfaces Stamps. I love that these trees can be colored pink for spring, green for summer, or in fall hues for autumn! I then added some simple cloud outlines to my skyline using the clouds from the
Ocean View Stamps. Lastly, I heat-embossed a greeting from the Cruising Critters Stamps and paired it with the die-cut word "cruising" from the
Cruising Critters Dies.
That wraps up my projects for today. Thanks so much for hanging out with me. I hope I've inspired you to spread a little happiness by sending out a card to someone you love. 💛
