Warm & Cozy Hat, Mittens, & Hot Cocoa Winter Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Warm & Cozy Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps Hat, Mittens, & Hot Cocoa Mug Winter Holiday Christmas Cards using Warm & Cozy Metal Cutting Craft Dies

For my first card, I focused on the Warm & Cozy Dies hat image, die-cutting it from all the patterned papers from the Preppy Prints Paper and Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones Paper packs. I mounted my hats in a loose grid onto our Stitched Square Dies and stamped the "you warm my heart" greeting from the Mug Hugs Stamps in the center of my card.

For my second card, I die-cut the hat, mittens, and hot chocolate mug from the Warm & Cozy Dies with red polka-dot prints from the Polka-dot Parade Paper and accented them with the white cuffs, pom-pom, snowflakes, and heart from the set. I added flocking to the cuffs and the pom-pom to make them look furry using the Marvy Snow Marker

I arranged the items onto a stitched slimline panel from the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies which I shortened to 7" long and matted onto a 3.5" x 8" card topped with a candy cane striped paper I pieced together from the All is Bright Paper pack. I stamped the "warm winter wishes" greeting from the Snowmen in Sweaters Stamps using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, which I heat-embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I added extra details like the red & white baker's twine as a curly string between my two mittens (adhered with a Zig Glue Pen), and the larger stitched heart from the Gift Card Envelope Dies to match the smaller one from the Warm & Cozy set.

Holiday Express Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this lovely gingerbread themed card featuring images from different sets, which is my favorite thing to do when I make cards, I really love how the Sunny Studio stamp sets can be mixed to create super cute scenes!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Holiday Express Christmas Card by Marine Simon (featuring Christmas Cookies, Baking Spirits Bright, Frilly Frame Dies, Dotted Diamond Dies, Build-A-Greetings Holiday)

I started off by stamping the images on light kraft cardstock instead of the usual white cardstock because for some reason when I color gingerbread themed images I like to use kraft cardstock. I cut them all with the coordinating dies and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Holiday Express - locomotive, wagons, presents, smoke, holly, connecting pieces • Christmas Cookies - gingerbread characters (wagons) • Baking Spirit Bright - gingerbread character (locomotive) • Snowmen In Sweaters - snowflakes.

I added highlights and details to the images with a white gel pen, and next I worked on the background. I cut a scalloped panel out of the same cardstock as the images using a Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace die and added texture to that panel using the Dotted Diamond Landscape die. I applied vintage photo and ground espresso distress inks to my scalloped panel edges, next I mixed some vintage photo distress ink with water and added brown splatters all over the panel, I did the same with vintage photo distress spritz for sparkles, and then the same again with copic opaque white ink for contrast. When my panel was dry, I attached it to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches light kraft panel using 1mm foam squares, and then to a card base using liquid glue.

I cut a banner out of dark brown cardstock using a Notebook Photo Corners die, white heat embossed "Have a holly jolly Christmas" from Build A Greeting Holidays on it, attached that banner to my card using 1mm foam squares, and finally the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

And that's it! Are you ready to get on the gingerbread holiday express? Come on and let's have some fun! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Alpaca Holiday Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and I have another cute holiday card for you! This time we are creating an oval design with the sweet images from the Alpaca Holiday stamp and die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Alpaca Holiday Winter Themed Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Stitched Oval Dies, Scalloped Oval Mat Dies, Brilliant Banner Dies, Inside Greetings)

To create an oval shaped card base from white card stock, I folded the paper in two and used the largest die from Stitched Ovals. You just have to make sure to place the die higher than the fold line from the card stock, that way it will not cut through.

I wanted to have a fun frame for my scene, so I opted for the largest of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 dies combined with a smaller die from the Stitched Ovals. These sets work great together. My paper was a sheet of teal from the Polka-dot Parade pack. To give this frame a more distressed look I went in with a blending brush and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide.

To build the scene I needed three more pieces of white card stock in an oval shape (Stitched Ovals), two for the snow banks and one for my sky (also inked with Salvaged Patina and sprinkled with splatters of white paint to mimic the snow).

From the Alpaca Holiday stamp, I selected three cuties and the mountain range (twice). I colored my images in pink, brown and teal Copics colors. Then it was time to build the scene layer by layer, starting with the sky and adding the two snow banks (cut with a die from my stash). Next, I added the two mountain ranges tucked in behind the snow. I used the second piece to strategically place the hills, doing some cutting with my scissors were needed. Then, I could add the frame and the sweet alpacas.

For oval designs, I love to work with a banner (Brilliant Banners 2), because it has that perfect rounded shape. My sentiment was taken from the Inside Greetings Holiday set and stamped in a pink ink from my stash. As embellishments, I glued three small snowflakes (Snowflake Circle Frame die) across the sky, adorning each of them with an Iridescent JewelFor this winter scene, I added lots of snowy dots with my white gel pen!

I hope you got inspired by these cute alpacas for your holiday cards! Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

Reindeer Games Card with Amanda

Hello there and welcome to the Sunny Studio blog! Amanda here! I’m so glad you’re here with me today as I share this SUPER JOLLY card with you! I am pumped about making holiday cards!  I know we have a lot of time left, but it’ll be here before you know it! Have you started making yours yet?? Either way, I hope this card inspires you to make one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Reindeer Games Winter Themed Christmas Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Fancy Frame Rectangle Dies, Scenic Route)

To make this card, I started by cutting the largest frame from the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies. This die actually cuts 2 separate pieces, which is great for creating dimension! I glued the outer frame directly to an A2 card base. I set the other frame aside to use later.

Next, I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to 5”x3.75”. On this panel, I stamped the hilly scene from the Scenic Route Stamps. With the leftover ink that was on the stamp, I stamped the image again on a piece of low tack masking tape. I trimmed the masking tape so that I could mask off the hills and trees.

Then, I used Catherine Pooler’s Hot Tub and Skylight inks and a blending brush to blend out the sky. Once that was finished, I spritzed it with water and set it aside. On another piece of white cardstock, I stamped my deer, gifts, and ornaments from the Reindeer Games Stamps. Once stamped, I colored the images with Copic markers.

Here are the colors I used:
Deer: E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R00, R22,R46,  E41, E43, W5, 27
Gifts: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, R422, R46, BG93, BG96, BG99

I removed the mask from the background panel and colored in the trees and snow.
Trees: BG93, BG96, BG99
Snow: BG70, BG72

After I was finished coloring, I cut the deer, ornaments, and gifts out using the coordinating
Reindeer Games Dies. On the background panel, I stamped my sentiment in black ink.

I glued my background panel to my card base. I, then, applied foam tape behind my inner frame and attached it o the card base as well. I adhered 3D foam squares behind the images and added them to my card. Using some white acrylic paint, I added “snow” and dots on the deers.

I love the dimension the
Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies
make! I hope you enjoyed learning how I created this card and I hope it inspires you to make something crafty today!
