Hello and welcome to the first day of our Sneak Peek Week! Each morning this week I will be showcasing projects using our newest Summer collection which will be available to purchase on April 21st.
Card No. 1 & 2: Both these cards showcase our newest layering stamps called Scrumptious Cupcakes, using all the same elements to create two unique looks.
Card No. 1 & 2: Both these cards showcase our newest layering stamps called Scrumptious Cupcakes, using all the same elements to create two unique looks.
Card No. 1: For my first take, I lined up the Scrumptious Cupcakes in a row, decorating them with the accompanying sprinkles stamps, candles, and cherry. I adhered strips of blue striped patterned paper to my card base using our Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper pack. Then I cut the scalloped borders and added stitching to the top and bottom of my panel using the dies from our slimline style Ribbon & Lace Borders dies. Lastly, I hand-cut the "happy birthday" greeting from the same stamp set.
Card No. 2: For this Scrumptious Cupcakes card I switched to a vertical "portrait" format and used the pink polka-dot print from the same Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper pack. I love how both these cards share the same color palette, yet have a unique look just by rearranging the elements!
Card No. 3: For this card featuring the Scrumptious Cupcakes Stamps, I went with a patriotic red, white & blue theme for a Fourth of July card. To continue my theme, I paired the cupcakes with the star-shaped mylar balloon from our Bold Balloons Stamps and the strawberries from our Sweet Shoppe Stamps, which I colored to match using a non-line coloring technique with Copic Markers and white dots for the seeds using my Sharpie paint pen. For my stitched panel, I used our Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies and layered it over the red gingham print from our Joyful Holiday Paper pack. As a final touch, I added my 4th of July greeting from our Happy Thoughts Stamps.
Card No. 4: Next up is a card mixing the cupcakes from Scrumptious Cupcakes Stamps with the ice cream cones from our Two Scoops Stamps. I mounted them onto alternating polka-dot and striped prints from our Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones, Polka-dot Parade, Striped Silly, and Dots & Stripes Pastel Paper packs which I cut using a die from Hero Arts Rounded Rectangles Infinity Dies.
For my card backdrop, I adhered the pink heart print from our Flirty Flowers Paper pack and layered it with a scalloped panel and stitched strip cut using our Ribbon & Lace Border dies. Lastly, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Perfect Popsicles Stamps onto a piece of patterned paper from the Gingham Jewel Tones Paper pack and die cut using our Stitched Ovals 2 Dies. Some pink pearl accents from our Rainbow Pearls were the perfect finishing touch.
Card No. 5: For this card, I lined up a half dozen cupcakes in a 2x3 grid and mixed and matched a variety of fun pastel colors for my cupcake "flavors". For my card background, I added a colorful mini polka-dot print using a patterned paper from our Spring Sunburst Paper pack. I then cut the edges of my white panel which I layered over the top, using the scalloped and stitching dies from our Slimline Basic Border dies, cutting additional scalloped borders cut from pink paper to layer beneath as a thin scalloped mat.
Card No. 4: Next up is a card mixing the cupcakes from Scrumptious Cupcakes Stamps with the ice cream cones from our Two Scoops Stamps. I then cut the edges of my white panel which I layered over the top, using the scalloped and stitching dies from our Slimline Basic Border dies, cutting additional scalloped borders cut from pink paper to layer beneath as a thin scalloped mat.
I accidentally tore the surface of one of my stamped images when using washi tape to die-cut them out using the coordinating dies, however, that ended up being a happy excuse to embellish them to cover up the mistake. With this in mind, I decorated every other cupcake using our Birthday Cake Dot Sprinkles. I then stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the scrumptious cupcakes using PinkFresh Studio Lavender ink and fussy cut just the word birthday to save some space. I then paired it with the smaller "happy" word from our Radiant Plumeria Stamps.
Card No. 6: For this card, I thought it would be fun to create a border using the layered candle image that comes with our Scrumptious Cupcakes Stamps. I started by adding a pink polka-dot print from our Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper pack for my card background. I then added a stitched zig-zag edge along the bottom of my card using white cardstock cut using our Ric Rac Border dies. I adhered my candles in a wavy border using my favorite Zig Chisel Tip Glue Pen and then added Glossy Accents to each of the candle flames. For my greeting, I used the "make a wish" sentiment from our Big Bold Greetings Stamps stamped with Gina K Blue Lagoon ink.
For my card background, I adhered the brown diagonal grid print from our Gingham Jewel Tones Paper pack and layered it with a stitched mat cut using our Stitched Rectangle Dies (which I ran through my die-cutting a second time to make it more slender). I then created my own punny "we are mint to be" greeting by cutting out the word "mint" using our Hayley Lowercase Alphabet dies and pairing it with heat-embossed phrases from our Just Bee-Cause Stamps and Color Me Happy Stamps. I actually was able to stamp the phrases in their entirety and just clip off the portions I didn't need with my scissors.
Gift Tags Set: For my last project of the day, I created a trio of gift tags using our Build-A-Tag 1 dies with the Scrumptious Cupcakes Stamps. I cut them from primary colored dotted patterned papers from our Surprise Party Paper and then layered them with a strip of rainbow polka-dots along the bottom, die-cut from that same paper pack. For my heat-embossed "Happy Birthday Sweet Thing" greetings, I borrowed a phrase from our Two Scoops Stamps. Lastly, I added heart-shaped reinforcers to my tag holes using the small die that comes with our Build-A-Tag 2 Dies. I love having birthday tags like these on hand to tie onto quick gifts for children's parties and such where a large handmade card might not be fully appreciated, but it's still nice to add a special little touch.

To help you line up our layered stamps I've created a special layering guide (you can click on the photo below to view it larger). The guide shows the stamps starting with the lightest ink color, working towards the darkest, but sometimes I find it easier to start backward when setting up my layers. They both work depending on what your preference is. The black outline indicates where that layer touches the previously stamped layer.
That wraps up today's sneak peeks. I'm so happy you spent part of your day with me today. I read all your comments and they mean so much! I'd love to give a $50 gift code to one lucky winner using the Rafflecopter below.
