Hello and welcome to 7th birthday blog hop and the last day of our Fall & Holiday Sneak Peak Week! Today I am sharing ideas using our new Cozy Christmas Stamps and Reindeer Games Stamps. I hope you'll join me and the rest of the team to see all that this new release has to offer. We have loads of prizes and a special sale as part of our birthday festivities too so make sure to read on. :)
Card No. 1: As an interior design grad I'm a sucker for a home themed card and I'm smitten with the images that come with our new Cozy Christmas Stamps! For my first card I paired all the new furniture, holiday tree and critters from the set with the fireplace, gifts and stockings from our Santa Claus Lane Stamps and the wreath from our Christmas Icons Stamps. For my flooring, I used a print from our Gingham Jewel Tones Paper with a grey stripe from our Subtle Grey Tones Paper pack for my walls. I then added a little window cut from our Amazing Argyle Paper pack cut using our Sweet Treats House Add-on Die. Lastly I heat embossed a greeting from the Cozy Christmas set onto a green gingham pennant die-cut using our Slimline Pennant Dies and Classic Gingham Paper.
Card No. 2: Up next is another Christmas Eve night scene. This time I paired the Cozy Christmas images with the Santa, stocking and gifts from Santa Claus Lane. For my little bear asleep in his sleeping bag I used an image from our Critter Campout Stamps. I love how cute he looks curled up on the couch! For my background I figured out the position of both my Christmas Tree and lamp so that I could ink on some Mustard Seed distress ink on my background using a Bitty Blender Brush and then came back with my jumbo dauber to ink in some black soot distress ink around them. I then die-cut the edge with a scalloped border die from our Slimline Pennant Dies, cutting a second from a white strip of cardstock to layer underneath. Lastly I adhered a blue striped patterned paper to the bottom edge of my card from our Sleek Stripes Paper pack and stamped my sentiment using a greeting from our Merry Mice Stamps.
Card No. 3: For my next card, I wanted to go with an everyday theme just to show these Cozy Christmas Stamps are actually perfect so many occasions outside of Christmas. I started by creating a "wood floor" using the woodgrain slats from our Picket Fence Dies which I inked up with Tea Dye Distress ink. I then added a print from our Subtle Grey Tones Paper pack for my wallpaper. For my framed floral images I got super nerdy and sat and layered the tiny baby's breath flower from our Everything's Rosy Stamps and then inked around them with an aqua Copic marker and trimmed them down to fit inside each of the frames. This took entirely too long, but I actually had so much fun doing it. This stamp set also comes with both a row of 2 or 3 buttons which you can alternate and repeatedly stamp to create tufted upholstery as I did for this card. I really wish I had this sofa and armchair set in real life!
For my sentiment I used the majority of the greeting from the Cozy Christmas set and just replaced the word "Christmas" with the word "Birthday" (I can't remember which exact set I used, but the word birthday can be found in a variety of our sets including Love Monkey, Harvest Mice, Penguin Pals, Plane Awesome, Puppy Dog Kisses, Sealiously Sweet, Summer Sweets, Cruising Critters or Silly Sloths).
Card No. 4: Next up is a card where I paper pieced the chairs from the Cozy Christmas set by stamping them onto a pink checked print from our Joyful Holiday Paper pack using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossing with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder to prevent smearing. I then fussy cut them out to layer over images where I had stamped and colored just the chair legs with Copics. For my background I used the square die in our Mini Basic Shape Dies cutting various patterned papers from that same Joyful Holiday Paper pack. I then trimmed down the card base a tiny bit since the squares weren't an exact fit for the length of my card and topped it with a Stitched Rectangle to frame my two chairs.
Card No. 5: For my last Cozy Christmas card of the day, I paired the tree, ornaments, gift and armchair with the boy and girl from our Fall Kiddos Stamps. For my background, I used a diamond heart print from our Flirty Flowers Paper pack as wallpaper and a white woodgrain print from our Subtle Grey Tones Paper pack for my flooring. I then framed my scene using our Stitched Semi-Circle Dies and heat embossed a greeting from the Cozy Christmas set onto a Slimline Pennant Die cut from a pink snowflake print from our Joyful Holiday Paper pack. I love how this one turned out by keeping my colors to a limited color palette--I have Pinterest to thank who came to my rescue when I went searching for real life Christmas home decor examples for inspiration.
Card No. 6: Switching gears I have a number of cards to share using our new Reindeer Games Stamps. I love that these reindeer are compact enough to allow me to add four of them to a slimline style card to represent all eight of Santa's reindeer (although you will have to make believe there are two of them flying side-by-side because I didn't have the will to color all eight of them to only have a tiny bit of four of them show up behind the others).
I started my card by inking a white cardstock panel with my yellow moon with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and then inked around it using Mermaid Lagoon, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks. I then die-cut my panel using our Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies and added a sentiment from the Reindeer Games Set. The Santa, sleigh and gifts came from our Santa Claus Lane Stamps, along with a nice list from our North Pole Stamps. Card No. 7: While I was designing these stamps I kept envisioning a scene with Santa and his reindeer on the roof of a house so I paired my two reindeer, Santa and the "happy holidays" greeting from our new Reindeer Games Stamps with the chimney, sleigh, Santa's bag and holiday lights from our Santa Claus Lane Stamps. To create the look of roofing shingles, I cut our stitched scalloped border a number of times from grey cardstock using our Slimline Pennant Dies, which I then lightly inked on the straight edge using black soot distress ink. To ground my sentiment I stamped and colored a banner from our Banner Basics Stamps using a no-line coloring technique. I also fussy cut a snowy edge for my rooftop using my scissors and coloring the edge with Copics to mimic the look of the snow found on my chimney. Lastly I added a couple stars to my sky from our Too Cute To Spook Stamps (mostly because my scene was feeling lopsided and empty there).
Card No. 8: Up next is a traditional red and green Christmas card using the images and a greeting from our new Reindeer Games Stamps. To frame my Santa and friends I used our new Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies which I layered over a slightly larger mat cut using our Stitched Rectangle Dies. Lastly I used the bold candy cane striped print from our Joyful Holiday Paper pack.
Card No. 9: For my last project today I have a set of holiday gift tags combining the reindeer form the Reindeer Games Stamps with the elves from our North Pole Stamps. Seeing them paired together just make me smile. For my gift tags I used both our Mini Mat & Tag 1 Dies and Mini Mat & Tag 4 Dies with the patterned papers from our new Joyful Holiday Paper pack.
