I began by stamping and coloring the images from the PartyPups stamp set with Copic markers. I then die cut them using the coordinating dies.
To create the shaker box, I die cut the comic strip frame from a piece of white cardstock and then again from a piece of double sided foam adhesive. I also cut a piece of white cardstock to the size of the frame and ink blended it with Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon. This is the back of the frame, so I set this piece to the side until I was ready for it.
I then cut a piece of acetate to the size of the frame and adhered it to the front of the double sided foam adhesive. To complete the box, I adhered the die cut frame to the top of the acetate. Next, I flipped the shaker box upside down and filled each section with sequins and jewels. Once each section was filled I adhered the back to the frame.
To complete the card, I adhered the stamped and die cut images to the front of the card. I used double sided foam tape on some of the pieces for added dimension. I then finished it off by adding the sentiment to the upper right hand corner of the card.
I hope you enjoyed this birthday shaker card and I how used the Comic Strip Everyday dies and Party Pups stamp set to create it. I don't know about you, but nothing makes me happier than creating and giving a handmade card to someone on their special day. And speaking of special days, when I gave the card to my niece this past weekend, the smile on her face was priceless and my heart was happy!
