Loving her lavender owl (why didn't I think of that?!) and the addition of the wiggle eyes.  Her beautiful color scheme with the blended background and sequins is so stunning too!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Summer Cards with Isha Gupta

I'm so excited to welcome the talented Isha Gupta to the blog today as our special guest!  I love her fun style and all the amazing cards she is sharing with our Fresh & Fruity and Tropical Paradise stamps today.  Take it away Isha...

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Fruity Drink Summer Card by Isha Gupta.

Hi there!  For my first card I created the background using a stencil as a stamp. For my images I used the awesome “Tropical Paradise” stamp set. I embossed the images using gold embossing powder and colored them using my Zig markers. I arranged them using a die-cut circle frame. To create some depth, I used 3D foam for various heights.

My second card also uses the stamps from the “Tropical Paradise” stamp set. I created a sunset background using my distress inks. I then stamped the Flamingos and colored them using my Zig markers. To create the scene, I used a vellum circle frame. I stamped and embossed the flowers onto vellum. Once I positioned the flamingos, I adhered the flowers to ground them.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Thanks A Bunch Fruit Themed Thank You Card by Isha Gupta.

I created my third card using all the yummy fruits from the “Fresh & Fruity” stamp set. I created a background strip using vellum. I stamped the images using memento black ink and colored them using copic markers and fussy cut them out. I then stamped the sentiment onto the vellum background using StazOn ink. Finally I adhered the fruits using 3d foam in various thickness for added dimension. To finish, I added glossy accents on some parts of the fruits.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Thanks A Melon Watermelon Card by Isha Gupta.

For my last card I started with creating the background by stamping the watermelon onto the watercolor paper. I colored it using damp brush and some distress ink. I then cut this panel using the Fishtail Banner die. I then sponged some red inks onto a piece of cardstock, flicked some water and white paint. I tied some black twine around the melon panel and adhered it to the base using 3D foam. I then stamped and embossed part of the sentiment onto black cardstock and cut it in a strip. I stamped the word “melon” using red ink and fussy cut it. Finally adhered the sentiment onto the card and adhered some sequins to finish off.

I hope you like my creations as much as I enjoyed creating them! Thank you Mendi for having me as a guest on the blog totally. It was total fun to use your awesome products.

Island Getaway Sushine Card with Lexa

Hello everyone!  Lexa here with a bright summer-y card showcasing the Island Getaway stamp set and coordinating dies. You already know that coordinating dies surely make your life easier, right? :)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Palm Tree, Hibiscus Flower and Flip Flops card by Lexa Levana (using Tropical Paradise, Island Getaway and Sunshine Word die)

I chose to use all bright colors for this one.  It reminds me of one hot sunny day... it's just me and my flip flops walking under the trees' shade. Did you just smile imagining that? Or is it just me? Hehe. First I cut my pink panel to 2.25" x 5.5" and created a tone-on-tone background by stamping some hibiscus images with Hero Arts Pale Tomato. The bigger hibiscus are from Tropical Paradise stamps, while the smaller one (and the leaves) are from Island Getaway. They matched perfectly!

The circle diecut is blended with some Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Distress Inks on the edges. I die-cut the Sunshine Word Die four times and layered them together to get some dimension. All the images are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored with Distress Markers. I also cut a strip of burlap to add an extra fun texture for this card. Last but not least I added my favorite clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Island Getaway Happy Summer Flip Flops card with Vanessa

Hey everybody! Vanessa here with a summer card using "Island Getaway".

Can you feel the breeze? No? Well, I can't, either :) We are having a break from sunny spring weather in Germany at the moment and instead of a summery breeze it is more like a stormy gust of wind, so summer seems very far away. But I hope my card will bring back the memories of a warm summer day.

I just had to showcase the cute flip flops. First, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than my card base and inked the middle part with mint ink. Then I added tiny droplets of the same ink to the panel. I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to the card. Now I stamped, colored and die-cut all the rainbow flip flops and adhered them with foam tape. Voilà! Summer!
