To create the background, I
used a star die to die-cut white cardstock, and used the negative as the
backdrop of the card. I also used the Stitched
Scallop dies to
add waves to the background as well. I distressed all the cut pieces with
Distress Inks, and added white splatters and lines to the card. I thought it'd
be fun to have a moon in the scene, so I used a circle die from Sun
Ray Dies to
die cut white cardstock. After, I adhered all the background pieces to a folded
note card and framed it with an A2 size white cardstock that has been die-cut
with an oval die.
To create the
beachfront, I die-cut white cardstock using the wavy die from the Oceans Of Joy dies set. I distressed it with Distress Inks,
and added splatters of ink and water for a textured look. I stamped the
sentiment "You Are A Treasure" from Pirate Pals with Versamark, and heat embossed it with
white embossing powder.
I stamped images on this
card from Pirate
Pals, colored
them in with Copic markers, and cut them out with coordinating dies. To finish, I adhered all
the images to the card front.
I got my son's approval for
this card, hopefully you like it too. Thank you for stopping by the blog
today!
Hi
everyone, it’s Karin here. Today I am here to share a new, very sweet get well
card card that I've created with the new Oceans Of Joy set!
For this card, I made a card base and two panels to create a window. One panel is made from cardstock and one is made from vellum. In the panel cut from vellum, the circle
cut is smaller to create dimension and create a decorative edge/frame to the window.
Before I adhered the window panel I embossed a piece of cardstock with a wavy
pattern and added it to the card base as a background for the window. I stamped and colored my whale from the Oceans Of Joy stamp set, and then die cut the whale using the coordinating dies. I adhered the cute whale to the center of the window with foam adhesive. Sunny Studio Supplies Used:
Hi everyone. Eloise here and today I have a card for you all using the A Bird's Life set. This set is so super awesome and has so many uses! The four different types of bird houses along with all the birds and sentiments - you can make so many different types of cards using this set - I love it!
To begin my card today I first took a piece of white cardstock and used a cloud border to create my fun background. I started at the top, ink blended over the cloud border with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, then moved down the stencil and repeated the process until the background was all coloured with clouds. Once my background was done, I stamped all the images I wanted to use from the A Bird's Life stamp set and coloured them in using Copic Markers and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
To assemble my card I first added foam tape behind all the images, then before adhering them I adhered down some folded twine onto the back of my bird houses and adhered them down where I wanted them onto my background. I then placed the twine behind the branch I stamped and coloured and adhered it down too. Then I tied a bow around the branch three times to make it look like my houses where hanging my the string. Super cute! I finished adhering my birds and then added Wink of Stella onto some of my images. To finish up I white heat embossed my sentiment onto some black cardstock, cut one side at an angled and adhered that down with foam tape over top, too. To completely finish up my card I adhered some clear droplets by Pretty Pink Posh and adhered my panel to a pink card base. I hope you enjoyed my card and got inspired and I'll be back next week!
I'm so excited to welcome Nina Marie Trapani to the blog today as our special guest. She has some gorgeous cards that
you are going to just love!
Hello crafters, it's Nina Marie here! Today I’ve got two cards to share
with you that both feature stamp layering. They are simple and fun to make,
plus are easy to mail; what could be better than that?
I’m sharing these cards today as a guest post for Sunny Studio
Stamps. Mendi – the creator and owner of Sunny Studio
– is a good friend of mine and I always love supporting her company as often as
I can by making cards with her fun products. Here’s a look at the two cards I
made … each use the same general technique but both look completely different!
On the first card with the adorable mint chocolate chip ice
cream cone I was being very conscious of the fact that I was going to be making
this particular card for my dad. When I create a “guy card”, I like to make
them clean-lined and no frills. Guy cards can be a struggle for many of us I
know, so I find it helpful to keep them clean and simple.
I chose to make a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone
because it is my favorite ice cream flavor (plus I think its more interesting).
I used inks from both Simon Says Stamp and Altenew
for my stamping. You can find the colors listed below:
Next I made a background behind the ice cream cone; I used
a couple of the stamp layering images and stamped a tone-on-tone pattern. For
those of you new to the term, tone-on-tone stamping is where you stamp a
pattern onto paper using an ink shade that is very close or slightly darker
than the paper you are stamping onto.
To create the tone-on-tone effect on this card, I paired
Lipstick Red ink and cardstock from Simon Says Stamp together.
After stamping the popsicles, I also
added some of the cute melting drops around the popsicles. This brought out the
colors of the popsicles really nicely and I like the additional pop of color!
Next it was time for some dimension, even though this is a
one layer card. Because it is also clean and simple, details are important. I
used Nuvo white gloss and white blizzard drops from Tonic Studios
on the popsicles and melting drops to add that little bit of depth.
You’ll also notice the brown heat embossed sentiment; this
was from theTwo Scoops set and I stamped it with Dark Chocolate ink.
I also added a bit of clear embossing powder on top to create some
contrast.
I hope you will check out the two videos
below to see how I created both cards. Stamp layering is so much fun, and a
perfect way to add color (with detail!) to your cards without having to break
out any markers, paints or pencils!
