Hello and welcome to the final day of our Spring Peek Week! All this week I have been showcasing cards using our newest collection which is now available for purchase. Before you run off and shop though, make sure to check out our our last peek at three new stamp sets below, including two brand new inside greetings sentiment sets and a video showing a closer look at everything.
Card No. 1: Today's stamp set I'm showcasing is called Captivating Camellias which includes 2 blossoms, a leaf and a Mother's Day greeting.
For my first card of the day created a bold, elegant card where I mounted four 4" x 3/4" strips of black cardstock onto a white 4" x 5.25" panel before adhering them both to a metallic gold card base. For my "hello" word sentiment I used a die from our Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies. It's a very clean and simple, but turned out to be one of my personal favorites.
Card No. 2: For my next card I started by die-cutting the stitched mat for the center using our Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies set. This die is much longer, but I was able to customize the length by flipping it around after the first cut, feeling where the stitching of the die locked into place with my previous cut and then running it through my die-cutting machine a second time. I then stamped a sentiment from our new Inside Greetings Birthday Stamps and assembled my pre-stamped Captivating Camellias flowers onto my panel, trimming off were they extended beyond my stitched mat.
My next step was to add a little temporary adhesive and attach my panel to the center of my card front so that I could then put the card in my MISTI stamp positioning tool and use the coordinating 1c, 2c & 3b images from the set to align the stamps one by one before removing the panel and stamping them with Altenew Limestone ink. For a couple of my flower images with the overlapping leaves I cut some quick masks to cover the flower so that it would still appear the leaves were behind the focal point flowers when I stamped them. After a couple images were stamped, I could return the panel to the center, reposition my next set of stamps and then repeat the process until my background was complete. My last step was to adhere the panel to my card using foam tape to make color vs. b&w the effect a bit more dramatic.
Card No. 3: For my next project featuring the Captivating Camellia Stamps, I wanted to go more soft and sweet for a card using our new Inside Greetings Sympathy Stamps. Cards like this are always tough to create and I find I'm often at a loss for what to write inside them, but I'm hoping this stamp set might help for those moments when I feel like they are no words.
My wood embossed background was created using our Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I originally had just the white background, but I had mounted my focal point images a wee bit higher than I wanted and the card was feeling a bit top heavy to me so I cut off the bottom, added a small Ric Rac Border and a polka-dot print to match the flowers with our Background Basics Stamps. For the sentiment, I die-cut a frame using our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. I then stamped my sentiment onto vellum using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Embossing Powder before die-cutting it out using the outer circle die. This gave me a thin space to add adhesive to where it wouldn't be seen behind my pink circle frame. A few scattered Mirror Droplets were the perfect finishing touch.
Card No. 4: Up next I used another sentiment for our Inside Greetings Sympathy Stamps. For this card I die-cut the outer frame with our Botanical Backdrop dies. I then layered it with our Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies to hold my stamped greeting, backing them with two different colored panels for some contrast. The background panels were created by inking them with PinkFresh Meadow Ink and Gina K. Ocean Mist (and then splattered with a little watered down Gina K. Blue Lagoon and an old toothbrush). A few shiny green pieces of confetti from our Iridescent Pastel Confetti mix complimented the colors perfectly.
Card No. 5: This card combines our new Layered Basket Stamps with our Captivating Camellias Stamps. Aren't they pretty together? Love having another way to display flowers! For my background I created a lacy scalloped panel using our Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace dies which I backed with a piece of pale pink cardstock and mounted onto a piece of patterned paper from our Classic Gingham Paper pack. For my greeting I heat embossed the word "happy" from our Happy Thoughts Stamps and paired it with the "birthday" word die from our Blooming Petals Frame Dies.
Every time I cut down our 6x6 Paper to fit my A2 sized card, I'm left with an extra 1/2" strip so I have a Ziploc baggie I save them in for future use. However, this time I actually completed the inside of my card (such a special day for me) so I was able to use it right away to tie the outside of my card together with the inside, using our new Inside Greetings Birthday Stamps.
Card No. 6: While my last card was a bit more shabby chic, this card design which also features the Captivating Camellias Stamps with Layered Basket Stamps is clean and simple. This time I cut that same pale pink cardstock out into a banner shape using our Slimline Pennant Dies. For my sentiment strip, I used the smallest pennant from that same die set to stamp my greeting, cutting off the ends and just using it as a stitched strip. I love how long this die is to give me maximum flexibility. I found myself using it for many, many of my cards this week. My last touch were two little White Pearls to give the appearance they are holding my strip in place almost like two pearl topped straight pins.
Here are just a few flower, leaf and Basket combinations I experimented with trying for the most part to use ink colors we carry in our store (linked below):

To help you line up our layered stamps like a pro I've created a special layering guide (you can click on the photo below to view it larger). The guide shows the stamps starting with the lightest ink color, working towards the darkest, but sometimes I find it easier to start backwards. They both work depending on what your preference is. The black outline indicates where that layer touches the previously stamped layer. :)
In honor of our big release today I created a video sharing a closer look at all 30 of our newest products, along with the cards I created using them. You can also view it on our YouTube Channel HERE.
