Today's sneak peeks consist of critters traveling by car and airplane with one new 4x6 Stamp set, a new 3x4 stamp set, their coordinating dies and two new standalone dies which are perfect for scene building. Let's jump right in!
Card No. 1: My first card of the day uses our new Cruising Critter stamps together with a new Cityscape Border die. I started by inking up the background of my card panel with Moonstone & Scuba Dyestress inks by Colorbox. I then cut out my city scene using a light grey cardstock (and backed it with a piece of light blue cardstock for the windows using a cutting file on my Silhouette which will be available as a free download on the product page).
These critters come without the party hats so to help them get in the birthday spirit, I borrowed hats from our Purrfect Birthday Stamps and Party Pups Stamps. For my balloon bouquet, I used the balloon from our Oceans of Joy stamps and taped pieces of black thread to the backs of them for a touch a realism. For my sentiment and dotted street I heat embossed them using versamark ink, together with opaque white embossing powder. The set comes with a nice little dotted border that is perfect for repeating to create streets like this one.
Card No.2: For my next take on the Cruising Critter stamps, I created an evening scene using Stardust Stickles glitter glue by Ranger to create my starry sky. This time I die-cut my city buildings from black cardstock using our new Cityscape Border die and backed them with yellow cardstock. For my greeting, I used a sentiment from the set, together with a new product that I will be sharing more of later in the week called Comic Strip Speech Bubbles dies. So excited to finally have some fun new ways to stamp my sentiments!
Card No.3: I wanted to get my critters out of the city so for this card I created a countryside with rolling hills using our Woodland Border dies and set my little scene in the background using the cloud, sunshine and trees from our Comic Strip Everyday dies and patterned paper from our Classic Gingham 6x6 Paper pack. For my street, I hand-cut some angled curves using some scraps of cardstock and then used my favorite Sharpie White Extra Fine Point paint pen to draw in my dashed line. As a final finishing touch I stamped the "hi" sentiment using our Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamps onto a bubble from those same Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Dies.
The Cruising Critters dies comes with a bonus word die for more design options so I used it to continue my sentiment onto the inside of my card (using the word "hello" from our Fabulous Flamingos stamps). I then stamped the critters again just as an outline driving off my card, but as luck would have it, I messed it up and needed to stamp it again (and of course I couldn't find where I had put the die on my messy desk so I ended up just fussy cutting it).
Card No.4: Up next I have several cards using our new Plane Awesome Stamps. This set comes with an airplane and five different critter pilots to put at the controls. It also comes three little connected exhaust clouds so I started by tracing a basic die-cut heart lightly with my pencil onto my inked up card panel. I then used those 3 little clouds to stamp along my light pencil outlines. When I was certain the ink was good and dry, I then erased my pencil lines and "colored" inside my clouds using the Tsukineko Neon Amplify! White pen. These are super cool! When they are heated up with a heat gun, they puff up to look like real clouds (or snow depending on the application). I have used similar products in the past, but this one has a much better tip with a bottle that is easy to control and apply. Love it!
To complete my scene I embellished with two little cloud stamps from the set, pairing them with a stamped greeting and the word "soar" which was cutout using our Loopy Letters dies. To tie a bit more yellow in and add interest to my card, I then added a polka-dot border using patterned paper from our Polka-dot Parade Paper pack and a little zig zag border created with our Ric Rac Border dies.
Card No.7: For my last card of the day I went with a fresh color scheme, coloring my airplane an unexpected lime green and putting a white polar bear in the driver's seat. I wasn't able to fit my entire sentiment onto one banner so I decided there was no reason I couldn't have two and I love the way it looks! I once again inked up my stitched Fluffy Cloud Borders with some Tumbled Glass distress ink. I then added a little interest to the bottom of my card with a strip of green star paper from our Surprise Party 6x6 Paper pack and a piece of blue striped paper from our Striped Silly 6x6 Paper pack. I was still feeling like my card was missing a little something so I adhered 3 transparent green drops using the Rainbow Crystal Drops embellishments. Love how they balance out the visual weight of the airplane on the other side of the card!
That wraps up today's sneak peeks. I'm so happy you've joined me! I'd love to give a $25 gift code to one lucky winner using the rafflecopter below. If everything goes smoothly I would say air travel. But it really doesn't happen much anymore - lots of delays, lost luggage, etc. However if a drive is longer than 8 hours, I choose to fly
ReplyDeleteBoth have their advantages. Flying gets you there quickly, driving lets you enjoy the scenery.
ReplyDeleteI prefer road trips because for some reason flying makes me nervous--irrational, I know.
ReplyDeleteRoad Trips! That's the best to see the sights along the way. I will fly but it's been decades and I was never crazy about it.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! So original!!! I love these new products! I can't wait to see what the week brings!!!! YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like both...just depends on the particular trip & destination, and I love this little car load of critters. Cute!
ReplyDeleteI like both. Road trips, when my holiday destination is not too far away.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm looking forward to the next sneek peek day.:-)
I've only flown a couple times. I definitely loved all the time saved and prefer it over a car trip.
ReplyDeleteBoth!! lol We love road trips whether they be close to home or after flying to get there. We love to get out and explore and just do our own thing.
ReplyDeleteLove the new products! And always love your beautifully colored cards.
I've only flown a couple times. I definitely loved all the time saved and prefer it over a car trip.

ReplyDeleteI like both ways of traveling.
ReplyDeleteHi Mendi! I always look forward to your releases and it's no wonder when you are constantly coming up with the cutest and creative products! Loving the Cruising Critters so much as well as the Cityscape border die. The critters in the airplane are so adorable, the expressions on their faces so sweet! I love how they are interchangeable. As for me, road trips are my fave! I get severe anxiety from flying.
ReplyDeleteI love the new critters on the road and in the sky. Even if it takes a little longer I definitely prefer road trips to flying!
ReplyDeleteHow stinkin' cute, a bug piled with critters! Love it.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable release. I prefer road trips
ReplyDeleteI lived in a 38' RV for 2.5 years. I guess road trips. Of course the only way to get to the youngest is by air, so sometimes you have to fly.
ReplyDeleteSo much cuteness. I can't wait. We don't travel.
ReplyDeleteAll the ways you changed up the plane is so great...the heart contrail is the best!
ReplyDeleteI love both road trips and flying - so I'm going to need both of these adorable new sets!
ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on the destination. But I loooove road trips. Too bad I live on an island and road trips are very short.
ReplyDeleteLove that the car stamp is all in one! No masking!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable cards! Love the whole vibe and the colors of the one with the polar bear in the airplane! Oh, and the one with the heart trail behind the airplane... so sweet!

ReplyDeleteI love that plane!!! I love to fly also.
ReplyDeleteFlying for sure. But I have a huge family so it usually works out better to drive.
ReplyDeleteI love short road trips. If it's a trip over let's say 6 hours I prefer to fly. I love the new products and the cards you've made with them!!
ReplyDeleteI like both ways of traveling. Flying gets me to my destination faster and road trips give me the chance to appreciate the beautiful sceneries out there!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely FLYING - LO!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I especially love the car full of critters in NYC (at least, that's where I am imagining they are). So cute.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the question before commenting. Soooo, it depends on the trip--If there is a lot to see along the way, I like to drive. If we just need to get from here to there (like CA to NYC), I like to fly. Overall I would say fly? That is a toughie!!
DeleteLove the cityscape die and adorable critters!
ReplyDeleteKelly W.
Love this part of the new release! You always have such cute stamps and paper pads! I prefer road trips because there is so much of our beautiful country to see that isn’t possible when flying!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely flying to get there faster!
ReplyDeleteSadly I'm not good at either these days! Planes are faster, so I definitely appreciate that. Car trips offer more freedom to change plans and do things spontaneously, though. So there are advantages to each.
ReplyDeleteWhat darling cards. I definitely prefer road trips.
ReplyDeleteYour new critters cruising in the car stamp is to cute for words!Kathleen dumpert

ReplyDeleteIt all depends on where we are going! If we are just out cruising for the day then I love road trips. If we are driving for days, not so much. I love to fly when we are going somewhere far. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI suppose I prefer flying. It's been quite a long time since I have. But I'm not a good navigator (or passenger) on long road trips.
ReplyDeleteLove both ways of travelling, but so much fun when you do roadtrips because you can see so much. I love these new sets. Can hardly wait for Friday so I can order.
ReplyDeleteI prefer road trips if they're short (especially if someone else is driving!). Cute cute cards!!
ReplyDeleteI prefer flying, it's faster. However, a road trip with these cuties would be great too!
ReplyDeletePrefer to fly if going for long distance, but road trips are more flexible.
ReplyDeleteAdorable cards and sets. x
FUN and FABULOUS cards :)
ReplyDeleteI used to prefer flying but now I enjoy the more relaxed pace of road trips, stopping anywhere we want along the way, camera always in hand!
It depends on where I'm going and how long it's going to get there. If it's under 700 miles, I like driving, but anything over that, then I would prefer to fly. Love the sneak peek cards for the new release--that pile of critters is adorable, all decked out in party hats and balloons. Great job on all of the creativity!
ReplyDeleteSince I've hardly ever flown in my life I would have to say road trips. Today's sneak peeks are wonderful!

Road trips all the way for me! I really do not like to fly, and we take road trips up to our cabin almost every weekend with our dogs too :)
ReplyDeleteI probably prefer road trips. They are shorter than flying.
ReplyDeleteRoad trip.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to fly, but as a family of four its way cheaper to just drive lol.
ReplyDeleteAdorable cards! :) I prefer road trips.
ReplyDeleteI love the new Plane Awesome stamp set, it is just adorable! I prefer to take road trips,so I can see the beautiful land, but traveling by air is quick and then I can spend more time in the final destination. I have yet to go by boat, so that is on my bucket list for sure! 😊
