Guest Designer Spotlight: Tiny Dancer Video with Laura Sterckx

Good morning, friends! I'm Laura Sterckx from Making Cards Is Fun and today I'm excited and honored to be guest designing for Sunny Studio Stamps. This time I'm featuring the Tiny Dancers set from their newest release to make a cute and girly, prima ballerina birthday card.

I had lots of fun coloring these ballerinas. I experimented with different skin tones and hair colors. I'll be doing some more research on different skin and hair color combinations because I could use some more variety.

I like when a stamp set comes with smaller designs. These are perfect to make your own background or add a fun little finishing touch to a card. In this case I used the flower to make a background. I colored them to match with the ballerinas. I really love how that turned out.

To fill up the center dot of the flowers I used Nuvo Drops from Tonic. I used Carnation Pink, Caribbean Ocean and Dandelion Yellow to match with the flowers and ballerinas. To add an extra pop of glitter I used Gold Dust glitter card stock from Tonic. It's the perfect dose of bling-bling. Finally I adhered a small strip of patterned paper and applied Tonic's Crystal Glaze.

Born To Sparkle Watercolored Background Ballerina Card with Lexa

Hello everyone! Lexa here today with a card that highlighting Born To Sparkle stamp set and Sparkle Word Die. I pair them with Tiny Dancers, I know I've paired them together couple of times but somehow I just think they are belong to each other.

First of all to create colorful background, I blended Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade. After I'm happy with the blending, I splashed some water on it. The sparkles are stamped with various dye inks that match the background color. I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink and watercolor them with Distress Markers. The little ballerina and her essentials will be a perfect card for a little girl, even my daughter are so excited about this card.

The Sparkle Word Die is cut on silver glitter cardstock from Doodlebug (one of the best glitter cardstock ever since the glitter won't fall aparat). I also use the smallest Fancy Frames Square Dies to frame the three images from Tiny Dancers. I'm really happy with the background I made with Born To Sparkle stamps, this stamp is so versatile that you can use it for any occasions all year around. One of a must have item to invest for.

Bold Balloons Rainbow Balloon Birthday Card with Vanessa

Hey everybody! Vanessa here with a colorful rainbow balloon card. The Bold Balloons set is such a fabulous set I can't get enough of! Here is my card for this week:

I masked off a rectangle on the front of my card base and inked it with various inks to create the rainbow. After I had removed the mask, I stamped the tiny dots with matching inks. Now I stamped the balloons, die-cut them with the matching dies and adhered them with foam tape. I drew the strings with a black marker and stamped the bands.

Next, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Polar Playmates onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. Finally, I added matching sequins.

Fun and colorful, don't you think? This stamp set makes it so easy to create! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Birthday Balloons Custom Kitty Balloon Card with Franci

Hi there and happy Wednesday! Franci here with you today to share two girly birthday cards! The new Birthday Balloons stamp set is amazing. You can create super wow, layering effects with it. But today, I decided to create my own custom balloons! 

First I die cut two little balloons with the coordinating dies and then I stamped two little kitties from the Purrfect Birthday stamp set on them and colored them with Copics.

I die cut two stitched rectangles and created a custom cloud stencil from some acetate. I sponged some distress ink to create my sky and then let my backgrounds dry. Then I stamped my sentiment at the center of my cards and added some details like the balloon string and the little bow.

I adhered the balloons with liquid glue and foam tape and add some sparkle with a Wink of Stella clear brush. I adhered my panels onto two lilac card bases and they are ready to spread birthday sweet wishes all over!

Rain Showers Pet Sympathy Card with Nancy

Hey there Sunny fans, Nancy here today with a look at the Rain Showers background stamp. I love this compact design with it's intricate rain drops and whimsical feel. Let's take a look at how to make an interesting background pop.

To create this card, begin with a white card base and use the Fancy Frames Circles dies to cut a window in the center. I left the two medium sized steel dies in the center to create this nested design. Next, use pigment ink in light blue and the Rain Showers stamp to cover the front of the card. As you proceed to the bottom of the card use lighter and lighter shades of blue ink to create an ombre effect. This makes it look like the rain is literally fading away at the bottom. 

Stamp the tree branch and flowers from the A Bird's Life stamp set, the kitty from the Purrfect Birthday set and color with Copic markers. Place light blue cardstock in the middle of the die cut opening and layer the stamped icons to create a scene. Lastly, use black Versafine ink to stamp the sentiment from the Pet Sympathy stamp set.

And there you go - an ombre rain shower design that pops and adds interest to a white background. Take a look at the Rain Showers stamp for your next card!
