Pirate Pals Encouragement Card and Video with Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here and today I have a card and video showing you how to make this fun card I made using the Pirate Pals stamp set along with the Island Getaway stamp set. I was completely inspired by Mendi, to use the Island Getaway stamp set with Pirate Pals, it's a great combination!

To begin my card today I first pulled a piece of Woodgrain Embossed Paper and ink blended over it with brown Distress Inks. I flicked some water over top, picked it up with a cloth and heat set it. I then stamped my images from Pirate Pals and Island Getaway and coloured them in with Zig Clean Colour Markers. Once they were all coloured I heat set them with my heat tool and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.

While I had my Big Shot Machine out I cut a rounded frame die from some white cardstock and also used the Stitched Scallop dies to die cut the inner piece into two pieces as well.

I used some blue Distress Inks to colour in the two die cut pieces and then adhered them onto my card panel flat. I used some foam adhesive to pop up the entire frame and then adhered my images also.

I used the 'Yo Ho! Way to Go' sentiment from Pirate Pals and white heat embossed it onto some black cardstock and then foam mounted it to my panel also. I then adhered my entire panel onto my white card base and the card was complete.

The video is linked down below, also! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll be back again next week!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Maria Peters

I'm so excited to welcome Maria Peters to the blog today as our special guest. She has some gorgeous cards that you are going to just love!

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m so happy and excited to be a guest designer for Sunny Studio Stamps today. Thank you so much for the invitation, Mendi! I made three cards with two stamp sets from the new release - Two Scoops and A Bird's Life.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Two Scoops and A Bird's Life Guest Spotlight Cards by Maria Peters

For my first card, I used the delicious Two Scoops stamp set. I stamped some scoops and wafers in all rainbow colors with Distress Inks in a half circle on a piece of watercolor cardstock. Then I added some ink to the background. I die cut a half circle from pink cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. After mounting the card front onto the card base using dimensional foam tape, I embellished the card with ink splatters and some clear droplets. A little bit of Perfect Pearls mist brings shimmer and finished the card.

For my second card, I used super cute A Bird’s Life stamp set. I die cut six squares and stamped six little scenes. After I watercolored all of the pieces, I stamped two sentiments from the set onto black cardstock and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I mounted all pieces on the card front using dimensional foam tape. I added lots of sequins to finish the card.

For my third card, I used again the sweet Two Scoops stamp set. I stamped the soft serve ice cream and the wafers randomly on a piece of white cardstock using several dye inks. Then I stamped the sentiment on craft cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I embellished the card with some twine and lots of clear sparkling sequins. Then I mounted the card front onto the card base using dimensional foam tape.

Have a wonderful day! Love, Maria.

Magical Mermaids Watercolor Shaker Card with Lexa

Hello crafty friends! Lexa here with a card featuring my favorite stamp set from the new release, Magical Mermaids. I always have a thing when it comes to magical creatures. No wonder that my favorite Disney's classic movie is The Little Mermaid, as I looove mermaids so much.

I started my card with a piece of 4.25" x 5.5" watercolor paper, and then created the background with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor palette. It has so many vibrant colors, and the pigmentation is amazing. To create a magical ambiance I choose blue and purple for the under the sea scene. I also paint some seaweeds and corals to complete my background.

I stamped all my images with black Versafine ink and colored them with Distress Markers. After I finished with the coloring I used the coordinating dies and my Big Shot to die cut them all. I paired Magical Mermaids with Ocean of Joy, as they perfectly compliment each other in case your mermaids need some sea friends.

The shaker card is always my favorite kind of interactive card, the sound of the beads are delightful. I also attached the purple octopus in the middle with a string so that it can wiggle around when you shake the card, it so much fun!

I first trimmed a panel from the striped patterned paper and adhered it to the card. Then I tied on the baker's twine and adhered the project life card with foam tape. Now I stamped the images and die-cut them with the coordinating Two Scoops dies. After I had adhered them to the card, I added sequins and wood veneer hearts.

Oceans Of Joy & Magical Mermaids Underwater Scenes Card Trio with Amy

Hello crafty friends! Amy here to share with you a fun trio of cards that features Oceans of Joy and Magical Mermaids. These two stamp sets compliment each other perfectly to help you create wonderful underwater scenes. The fun aspect in my cards comes from the fact that I put some adorable sea animals inside a jar using the Vintage Jar set. Let's take a look.

To create the scenes in the jar, I used a masking technique so that I could make some of the images look like some are in the front, and others are in the back. Once I had everything stamped on smooth white cardstock, I colored them in with Copic markers. For more of  a glassy look I added some diluted white acrylic paint with my finger going down the jar. After, I die-cut the jars and lids with their coordinating dies.

To create the background panel, I used prepared Bristol cardstock that measured 3.25" x 4.5" and stamped the sandy border from Oceans of Joy using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. I distressed the background with Tumbled Glass, Brushed Corduroy, and Mustard Seed Distress Inks and added splatters of water. Once it dried, I stamped punny sentiments to each card.

For the "You're turtley awesome" sentiment, I used stamps from Turtley Awesome.

To finish, I added dimensional adhesive behind the jars and adhered it to the panel. I decided not to use the lids because I imagined that the jars were at the bottom of the seafloor, and the sea animals decided to hang out there. It's so much better then having them cooped up in a jar with the lid closed, right? ;)

I hope you enjoyed the cards. Thanks for visiting the blog today!
