Garden Critters Cards with Catherine and Marie

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, it’s February 1st and Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away!  I created a Valentine’s Day card with some of the cute bees from Garden Critters Stamps which coordinated nicely with Just Bee-Cause Stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Critters Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Bursting Heart Dies, Haley Alphabet Dies, Just Bee-cause)

To start, I ink blended a piece of A2 white cardstock with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Festive Berries Distress Oxide.  Next I die cut the beautiful Bursting Heart Die out of white cardstock and adhered it onto the background. I ink blended some of the white hearts from the Bursting Heart Die with Festive Berries Distress Oxide and adhered the hearts onto the background.

I stamped and die cut the bees from Garden Critters Stamps and the bees and bee hive from Just Bee-Cause Stamps and die cut the images with coordinating dies. I added some “heart” branches from Love Monkey Stamps and I colored all the images with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below.

For the sentiment, I ink blended Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide onto white cardstock and I trimmed the banner with my paper cutter. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Just Bee-Cause Stamps. I finished off the card with the word “Bee” using the new Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies ink blended with Festive Berries Distress Oxide.

Hello Crafty Friends, Marie here! I am happy to be back on the blog sharing a new card! For many people across different cultures, ladybugs, grasshoppers, dragonflies, and even bees are a symbol of good luck, good fortune, and prosperity so I decided to create a Good Luck card featuring the Garden Critters Stamp. This card is perfect for anyone who needs some warm encouragement!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Critters Card by Marie Marco (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Haley Alphabet Dies, Autumn Greenery)

To create this card, I first start by die cutting an A2 sized panel from Neenah Solar white 110 lb cardstock paper. I then used the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace Die to cut a super cute scalloped panel from the new Spring Fever Paper. I then attached the pattern paper to the white panel using some double sided tape adhesive.

To create the leafy wreath I used a single leaf die from the Autumn Greenery Dies. I ink blended all my leaves using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. For my "good Luck" sentiment, I used the new Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies

Next, I stamped all the garden critters onto watercolor paper using Distress Ink in the color Antique Linen. I then watercolor all my images using Faber- Castell watercolor Pencils. Finally, I used the corresponding Garden Critters Dies to  cut out all the images.

To complete my card, I die cut an oval from Translucent Vellum paper and adhered it to the center of my pattern paper. I layered all the leaves around the vellum  to create a wreath. I adhered the leaves using double sided tape adhesive and foam tape to add some dimension. Next, I added the garden critters using some Bearly Art Precision Craft glue and foam tape. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment and added some spare die cut hearts as a finishing touch.

And that does it for this week's project inspiration! Thank you for joining me today! Until next week, Happy Crafty Cardmaking!!

Spring Fever Focused Cards with Lien and Isha

Hi crafty friends! It's Lien here back with a colorful clean and simple card. With lots of friends living abroad, I use a ton of "miss you" and "thinking of you" cards. And any sort of card you need a lot from, you probably want a quick way to make them. Even better, this card design works for any occasion, just swap out the sentiment and you're good to go!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Passionate Penguins Card by Lien Leysen

I simply stamped the fun image from the Passionate Penguins stamp set in alcohol marker friendly ink and colored it in with my Ohuhu Markers. I do use a trick when stamping for marker colorings where I leave the stamp sitting in my Misti and after I'm done coloring I stamp it once again in Versafine Onyx Black ink. This is a pigment ink and stays wet for a while so I can add clear embossing powder to it.

I love a glossy black embossed outline but if you go over that line too often with alcohol markers, you will rub it away and it might even ruin the nib of your markers. This simple trick takes 2 minutes extra and I love the finished look. I die cut the image with the coordinating dies.

To put this card together, I just used a piece of patterned paper from the gorgeous Spring Fever paper pack and adhered that to the top of my card. I added a sentiment white embossed on black from the Breakfast Puns stamp set and put it behind the image which I propped up on some foam tape. Simple, quick, easy to mass produce, and you can make this work for any occasion!

Hello everyone! Isha here today with a fun and cheerful card. I played with patterns from the new Spring Fever paper collection. I decided to incorporate some of the new and old stamps and dies as they all blend well together.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Looking Sharp Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Mini Mat & Tag Dies, Build-A-Birdhouse Dies)

To start, I cut the floral pattern, matted it with a pink cardstock and adhered to a white card base. Then cut the dotted yellow paper stripe and adhere. Next, I die-cut the tag using the cloud background paper from the Mini Mat and Tag 2 dies. Die-cut the grass from the grass pattern paper using the Picket Fence dies. Die-cut the birds from the Build-A-Birdhouse dies, color using copic markers.

Stamp the cactus from the Looking Sharp stamp set, color and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Stamp the word "THANKS" from the Big Bold Greetings stamp and die-cut using the coordinating diesAssemble everything together. To finish add the twine and some enamel dots.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Cards with Cathy and Bobbi

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’ve got a fun Paris themed card for you! The new Ribbon & Lace Border Dies are just perfect for this theme.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Charming City, Paris Afternoon, Critters On The Go)

I started this mini slimline card by cutting the white card base 3 1/4” x 6 1/4" (the cardstock piece is 6 1/4" x 6 1/2", scored at 3 1/4" on the 6 1/2" side and folded in half). Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4” x 3 1/2" for the background. I masked the bottom 1 1/2" and inked clouds with a stencil using Saltwater Taffy Distress ink. I then masked the cloud portion and inked light green grass with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. I adhered this piece to the card base 1” from the top edge.

Next, I inked a 1” x 3 1/4" piece of white cardstock with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink and die-cut the edge of the piece using the large lace border from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I die-cut a 1 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of white cardstock with the same die and overlapped/adhered the 2 pieces to the card front below the background. I die-cut a 1/2” x 3 1/4" piece of kraft cardstock with the eyelet lace border from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies and adhered it to the top edge of the pink lace border.

At the top of the card, I die-cut a second piece of Saltwater Taffy inked cardstock 1/2” x 3 1/4" with one of the scalloped borders and die-cut a kraft cardstock piece 1/2" x 3 1/4" on both edges using 2 of the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I overlapped/adhered these to the card front above the background piece.

The ribbon die made a perfect road for my scooter cruising bear! I inked a piece of white cardstock with Hickory Smoke Distress ink, die-cut it with the ribbon die, cut it to 3 1/4" long and added dashed lines with a white gel pen.

I heat embossed the Eiffel Tower from the Paris Afternoon Stamps with bronze embossing powder on kraft cardstock and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. I stamped all the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used the following stamps: Critters on the GoParis AfternoonCharming City.

To finish, I heat embossed “bonjour” from the Charming City Stamps on white cardstock using Saltwater Taffy embossing glaze and die-cut “Mon Ami” using the new Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies. I also heat embossed those letters with Saltwater Taffy embossing glaze.

Hi there, Bobbi here! This week’s card features the new Ribbon and Lace Border dies by Sunny Studio Stamps. These dies are long in length to work on slimline cards and feature scallops, eyelet and stitching line designs. I used the designer borders on this sweet and delicate bra card. I paired the new dies set with the Stitched Heart 2 diesScalloped Heart dies, and the Spring Fever pattern paper.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Friendship Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Stitched Heart Dies, Scalloped Heart Dies, Lovey Dovey)

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I cut a card base (10″ X 7″) out of white cardstock and scored down the center. I set it aside and worked on the bra feature next.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Friendship Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Stitched Heart Dies, Scalloped Heart Dies, Lovey Dovey)

Using the largest stitched heart, I cut the shape out of a skin tone-colored cardstock. I used an ivory color for this one. I cut it down by cutting off the point side, leaving 3-1/2″ length to use.

I used the same heart die to cut another heart out of blue pattern paper and then used the same heart die to cut the bra top V-neck shape. By simply turning one heart upside down and running it through the die cutting machine, the bra is cut evenly on both sides and ready to add to the ivory heart shape.

It’s time to dress up the bra top with laces, appliques and straps. I used the Ribbon and Lace Border dies to add extra touches. I introduced a coordinating pattern with pink roses to add more interest. I cut and glued on a bright pink applique heart (cut from fuchsia pink paper) to the deep V. A little pink rhinestone was layered on top, too. Straps in another coordinating print were attached as well as the scallop lace edging pieces.

For the background, I added white and pattern pieces of lace, scallops, eyelet and straight stitched pieces. I love all of these and I love what a beautiful background they create for this delicate bra top.  I added the word “friend” to the front, making it look like a clothing label. The “friend” word is from the Clucky Chickens stamp set. The bra top was attached to the card base using foam dots to make it stand out a bit from the pretty background.

Inside the card, I stamped some hearts and a sentiment from the Lovey Dovey stamp set.

Here’s a little bonus item. I made a matching tag to go with this card. I used the same dies and pattern papers as in the card. I used the Scalloped Heart dies to create the tag base and then added the image to the front. The “You’re one cool chick” phrase is also from the Clucky Chickens stamp set.
