Hi friends! It's Kelly Lunceford here today and I am thrilled to be guest designing using the latest Sunny Studio Stamps release! I'm sharing three holiday projects with you that I'm super excited about! First up is this fun North Pole scene using Santa and Mrs. Claus! The Winter Scenes stamp set is perfect to create charming scenes all winter long! I stamped it in black and then colored it with an assortment of alcohol markers in blues, reds, and greens to create a festive look!
I created the background by blending Distress Oxide inks in two shades of blue: Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans. The addition of white paint splatter creates the illusion of snowflakes falling in the background. I die cut the Winter Scenes using the coordinating dies and added it to the background panel using foam squares for optimum dimension. I always love adding some coarse crystal glitter to many of my holiday designs which I did here on the trees, roof tops, and snow drifts!
Santa and Mrs. Claus are from the super sweet North Pole stamp set and they look so cute all decked out in their holiday finest! I added them to the bottom of the panel using additional foam squares to really make them pop! Mrs. Claus has two dots of Crystal Glaze over the top of her glasses for a realistic touch. I chose the sentiment that works perfectly with Santa's nice list and added it to the top of the snowy sky panel. A few sparkling clear sequins here and there finish off this little scene!
I had so much fun working on the first card, I decided that if I cut the Winter Scenes image in half, it would make two perfect tags! I colored it exactly the same way as the first card for ease, and then cut it straight in half and added them to two tags cut from Classic Gingham pattern paper.
I chose to use Santa on the first tag, all set with his list in hand and stamped the sentiment directly at the top using black ink. I love making all kinds of handmade tags for the season to dress up all of my packages and treats! If you're not a tag maker, you could use this same design and add it to a card base for a fun look.
Mrs. Claus is accented with a plate of Christmas cookies, which I'm sure taste delicious! ha ha! I love this sentiment that says "Spreading Christmas Cheer"...it will be perfect to package up all of the sweets and treats I love to make during the holidays!
My final project for today uses the playful elves from the North Pole stamp set. They were just screaming for something fun and whimsical, so I chose to use them in a way similar to something you might find on holiday wrapping paper! I stamped each one twice so I would have lots of options and colored them with alcohol markers.
I love the play on words with this sentiment, which is just perfect for this design. I used my mini MISTI for ease in alignment and precision. I cut it out and added it to the pink Classic Gingham background using foam squares. From there I was able to add the elves in all different directions for a playful look!
I was thrilled to find that I could use the excess heads or feet that were trimmed off by adding them to a different portion of the card. I added in a few die cut gifts and the North Pole sign as filler! Each of the jingle bells on their hats got a dot of Crystal Glaze for some dimension and shine! Once I had them all arranged like I wanted, I added some White Nuvo drops here and there for a pop of added detail!
I had a lot of fun working on these three projects and I'm happy to add them to my growing stash of holiday projects! Working on Christmas is a year-long affair for me, so I'm always in the mood for Christmas! It will be here before we know it! Have a wondeful day and thanks for joining me today!
