Card No. 1: I have been having so much fun creating with our new Enchanted Stamps which come with two princesses, a prince, a knight in shining armor, a frog, a castle, a carriage and several additional fairytale inspired accessories! For my first card I recreated a little Cinderella fairytale scene (right before the clock struck midnight) for a fun wedding card. I paired the castle from the set with the mountains from our new Spring Scenes Stamps. For my background I stamped some of the little stars from the set with VersaMark Ink and heat set them using Ranger's Buttercup Embossing Powder by Wendy Vecchi. For my cobblestone, I drew some loose bricks with a Copic marker. While it's far (far) from perfect and I got lazy over time, I still like the texture it gives the scene.
Card No. 2: For my next card, I wanted to create my own tone-on-tone paper using some of the princess accessories from the set. I started by lightly inking up my background with Picked Raspberry distress ink, adding it slightly heavier near the edges. I then used that same distress ink to stamp the images in a random pattern using a Misti tool, working one section at a time. After I had one section done, I would take all the same accessory stamps, moving them to another section and rearranging them like a puzzle to compliment the previous stamped portion, repeating the process 7 or 8 times until I had the background filled.
For my little grouping in the center, I paired the princess with the balloons from our new Floating By Stamps and a stack of presents from our Santa Claus Lane Stamps, layering them onto our Scalloped Circle Tag dies which I disguised by hiding the top of the tag behind the balloons. Just one more way to stretch your supplies, right? For my sentiment, I used the "happy birthday" phrase from our Tiny Dancers Stamps with the word "princess" from the Enchanted set.
Card No. 3: I made my next card for my husband, coloring the people to look like us when we were much younger. Hee-hee. I then mounted them on a Stitched Heart die cut from a rainbow ombre paper in our Spring Fling Paper pack and grounded them by resting them on a banner from our Banner Basics Stamps.
My heart background was created using our Heartstrings Border Dies, running the same border die through my machine repeatedly, alternating the direction and then backing each row with a strip of tone-on-tone daisy paper. To get my rows to be fairly evenly spaced I found it helpful to use a clear grid ruler to draw some light pencil lines which could be erased afterwards.
Card No. 4: I went clean and simple for this next card inspired by The Princess and The Frog. For my gingham borders, I used our Background Basics Stamps and some Colorbox Kiwi Ink, adding a little zig zag detail to the edge with our Ric Rac Border Dies. To create a little visual mat for my characters, I inked on some Wilted Violet distress ink using my favorite Jumbo Dauber and then used that same ink to ink up an extra piece of white cardstock to stamp my banner onto. When it was really good and dry, I then heat embossed my sentiment using white embossing powder. A few simple iridescent star crystals finished my card.
Card No. 5: This next card is a favorite of mine combining the adorable images from our Enchanted Stamps with the new mini Prancing Pegasus Stamps. I embraced all things girly, creating little scenes using our Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Dies cut from our Gingham Pastels Paper pack. I then backed each scene with a stitched Fluffy Cloud Border. A single balloon from our Oceans of Joy set filled a little hole I had that needed filling and a sentiment from Tiny Dancers completed my card.
Card No. 6: I channeled my 80's childhood for this card--it totally brings me back to my love for My Little Pony! I used the adorable rainbow paper from our Spring Fling Paper pack as my inspiration which led me to created the stitched cloud background with our Fluffy Clouds dies. I then stamped and colored a rainbow from our Rain or Shine Stamps and paired it with another cloud from our Fluffy Cloud dies, stamping it with a happy face from our Fast Food Fun Stamps. A sentiment from the Prancing Pegasus Stamps embossed onto our Gingham Pastels Paper completed my scene.
Gift Tag: For my last project of the day using our Prancing Pegasus stamps, I made a personalized birthday gift tag using our Scalloped Square Tag Dies which were cut from a piece of rainbow paper from our Spring Fling Paper pack. As luck would have it, I just happened to have a spool of Offray sunburst rainbow ribbon in my stash that matched perfectly! To customize my tag, I stamped "happy birthday" using our Happy Thoughts Stamps and then spelled out "Laura" using our new Kinsley Alphabet stamps. A loopy heart border from our Heartstrings Border Dies completed the girly look I was after.
