To start, I first heat embossed my images with Fine Detail
White Embossing Powder onto a sheet of Ranger White Watercolor Paper. I then
used some Zig Watercolor Brush Pens to loosely color them. After they dried, I
then used the coordinating Pink Peonies Die Set to cut them out.
Colors Used:
- Light Pink Flowers: 202 Peach
Pink & 026 Light Pink
- Dark Pink Flowers: 027 Dark
Pink, 200 Almond Pink
- Leaves: 053 Yellow Green, 046
Mid Green, 043 Olive Green
For the background, I cut a piece of Watercolor Paper to 4.25" x 5.5". I then used some Green Watercolor Paint to quickly paint a rectangular pattern. I then splattered it with both diluted Opaque White and Green Paints for some added interest and adhered my images with some 3D Foam Adhesive Tape. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment onto a piece of black card stock.
Thank you all so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hey everyone, Candice here. How many of you are a little scared to try something new in the
crafting community?! I am super comfortable with my Copic markers, but
really admire those that do watercolor, and I finally took the leap on these
gorgeous Pink Peonies!
- Pink Peonies stamps & coordinating dies
- Chickie Baby stamps (sentiment)
- Eyelet Lace Border dies
- White Pearls
To create the acetate slimline base, I first trimmed bistrol
cardstock to 10 x 3 1/2 and folded at the 8 1/2 seam. I then adhered an 8
x 3 1/2 piece of acetate to the short fold to create the card base. I
then die cut five eyelet lace borders from
thick white cardstock, adhering one to the bottom of the acetate and four
layered along the top.
For the background, I first heat embossed the Happy Easter in
white and inked over with tea dye & antique linen. Next, I heat embossed all the peonies, two of each, in
white. I recommend heat embossing your images for beginners of
watercoloring, it helps keep the water in the lines as you learn! I used
Prima confections watercolors on the stamped flowers and leaves in
pinks and shimmer gold.
I also used the watercolors to add a few splatters on the inked inside. I finished the card by adhering all the images with score tape over the acetate along the bottom and above the sentiment on the inside.
I hope you are inspired to try a new technique you have admired! Thank you for visiting!
